Genesis 9

1 Dann segnete Gott Noach und seine Söhne und sprach zu ihnen: Seid fruchtbar, vermehrt euch und bevölkert die Erde!	1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
2 Furcht und Schrecken vor euch soll sich auf alle Tiere der Erde legen, auf alle Vögel des Himmels, auf alles, was sich auf der Erde regt, und auf alle Fische des Meeres; euch sind sie übergeben.	2 The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered.
3 Alles Lebendige, das sich regt, soll euch zur Nahrung dienen. Alles übergebe ich euch wie die grünen Pflanzen.	3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.
4 Nur Fleisch, in dem noch Blut ist, dürft ihr nicht essen.	4 Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
5 Wenn aber euer Blut vergossen wird, fordere ich Rechenschaft, und zwar für das Blut eines jeden von euch. Von jedem Tier fordere ich Rechenschaft und vom Menschen. Für das Leben des Menschen fordere ich Rechenschaft von jedem seiner Brüder.	5 For your lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning; of every beast I will require it and of man; of every man's brother I will require the life of man.
6 Wer Menschenblut vergießt, dessen Blut wird durch Menschen vergossen. Denn: Als Abbild Gottes hat er den Menschen gemacht.	6 Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for God made man in his own image.
7 Seid fruchtbar und vermehrt euch; bevölkert die Erde und vermehrt euch auf ihr!	7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, bring forth abundantly on the earth and multiply in it."
8 Dann sprach Gott zu Noach und seinen Söhnen, die bei ihm waren:	8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him,
9 Hiermit schließe ich meinen Bund mit euch und mit euren Nachkommen	9 "Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your descendants after you,
10 und mit allen Lebewesen bei euch, mit den Vögeln, dem Vieh und allen Tieren des Feldes, mit allen Tieren der Erde, die mit euch aus der Arche gekommen sind.	10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark.
11 Ich habe meinen Bund mit euch geschlossen: Nie wieder sollen alle Wesen aus Fleisch vom Wasser der Flut ausgerottet werden; nie wieder soll eine Flut kommen und die Erde verderben.	11 I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth."
12 Und Gott sprach: Das ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich stifte zwischen mir und euch und den lebendigen Wesen bei euch für alle kommenden Generationen:	12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:
13 Meinen Bogen setze ich in die Wolken; er soll das Bundeszeichen sein zwischen mir und der Erde.	13 I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 Balle ich Wolken über der Erde zusammen und erscheint der Bogen in den Wolken,	14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds,
15 dann gedenke ich des Bundes, der besteht zwischen mir und euch und allen Lebewesen, allen Wesen aus Fleisch, und das Wasser wird nie wieder zur Flut werden, die alle Wesen aus Fleisch vernichtet.	15 I will remember my covenant which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 Steht der Bogen in den Wolken, so werde ich auf ihn sehen und des ewigen Bundes gedenken zwischen Gott und allen lebenden Wesen, allen Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde.	16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will look upon it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth."
17 Und Gott sprach zu Noach: Das ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich zwischen mir und allen Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde geschlossen habe.	17 God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth."
18 Die Söhne Noachs, die aus der Arche gekommen waren, sind Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ham ist der Vater Kanaans.	18 The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan.
19 Diese drei sind die Söhne Noachs; von ihnen stammen alle Völker der Erde ab.	19 These three were the sons of Noah; and from these the whole earth was peopled.
20 Noach wurde der erste Ackerbauer und pflanzte einen Weinberg.	20 Noah was the first tiller of the soil. He planted a vineyard;
21 Er trank von dem Wein, wurde davon betrunken und lag entblößt in seinem Zelt.	21 and he drank of the wine, and became drunk, and lay uncovered in his tent.
22 Ham, der Vater Kanaans, sah die Blöße seines Vaters und erzählte davon draußen seinen Brüdern.	22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.
23 Da nahmen Sem und Jafet einen Überwurf; den legten sich beide auf die Schultern, gingen rückwärts und bedeckten die Blöße ihres Vaters. Sie hatten ihr Gesicht abgewandt und konnten die Blöße des Vaters nicht sehen.	23 Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father's nakedness.
24 Als Noach aus seinem Rausch erwachte und erfuhr, was ihm sein zweiter Sohn angetan hatte,	24 When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him,
25 sagte er: Verflucht sei Kanaan. Der niedrigste Knecht sei er seinen Brüdern.	25 he said, "Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers."
26 Und weiter sagte er: Gepriesen sei der Herr, der Gott Sems, Kanaan aber sei sein Knecht.	26 He also said, "Blessed by the LORD my God be Shem; and let Canaan be his slave.
27 Raum schaffe Gott für Jafet. In Sems Zelten wohne er, Kanaan aber sei sein Knecht.	27 God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave."
28 Noach lebte nach der Flut noch dreihundertfünfzig Jahre.	28 After the flood Noah lived three hundred and fifty years.
29 Die gesamte Lebenszeit Noachs betrug neunhundertfünfzig Jahre, dann starb er.	29 All the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died.
