Psalms 89

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA
1 [Poem For Ethan the native-born] I shal sing the faithful love of Yahweh for ever, from age to age mylips shall declare your constancy,	1 'Maskil. Di Etan l'Ezraita.'
2 for you have said: love is built to last for ever, you have fixed your constancy firm in the heavens.	2 Canterò senza fine le grazie del Signore, con la mia bocca annunzierò la tua fedeltà nei secoli,
3 'I have made a covenant with my Chosen One, sworn an oath to my servant David:	3 perché hai detto: "La mia grazia rimane per sempre"; la tua fedeltà è fondata nei cieli.
4 I have made your dynasty firm for ever, built your throne stable age after age.'Pause	4 "Ho stretto un'alleanza con il mio eletto, ho giurato a Davide mio servo:
5 The heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh, your constancy in the gathering of your faithful.	5 stabilirò per sempre la tua discendenza, ti darò un trono che duri nei secoli".
6 Who in the skies can compare with Yahweh? Who among the sons of god can rival him?	6 I cieli cantano le tue meraviglie, Signore, la tua fedeltà nell'assemblea dei santi.
7 God, awesome in the assembly of holy ones, great and dreaded among al who surround him,	7 Chi sulle nubi è uguale al Signore, chi è simile al Signore tra gli angeli di Dio?
8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, who is like you? Mighty Yahweh, your constancy is al round you!	8 Dio è tremendo nell'assemblea dei santi, grande e terribile tra quanti lo circondano.
9 You control the pride of the ocean, when its waves ride high you calm them.	9 Chi è uguale a te, Signore, Dio degli eserciti? Sei potente, Signore, e la tua fedeltà ti fa corona.
10 You split Rahab in two like a corpse, scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.	10 Tu domini l'orgoglio del mare, tu plachi il tumulto dei suoi flutti.
11 Yours are the heavens and yours the earth, the world and al it holds, you founded them;	11 Tu hai calpestato Raab come un vinto, con braccio potente hai disperso i tuoi nemici.
12 you created the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon hail your name with joy.	12 Tuoi sono i cieli, tua è la terra, tu hai fondato il mondo e quanto contiene;
13 Yours is a strong arm, mighty your hand, your right hand raised high;	13 il settentrione e il mezzogiorno tu li hai creati, il Tabor e l'Ermon cantano il tuo nome.
14 Saving Justice and Fair Judgement the foundations of your throne, Faithful Love and Constancymarch before you.	14 È potente il tuo braccio, forte la tua mano, alta la tua destra.
15 How blessed the nation that learns to acclaim you! They will live, Yahweh, in the light of yourpresence.	15 Giustizia e diritto sono la base del tuo trono, grazia e fedeltà precedono il tuo volto.
16 In your name they rejoice al day long, by your saving justice they are raised up.	16 Beato il popolo che ti sa acclamare e cammina, o Signore, alla luce del tuo volto:
17 You are the flower of their strength, by your favour our strength is triumphant;	17 esulta tutto il giorno nel tuo nome, nella tua giustizia trova la sua gloria.
18 for to Yahweh belongs our shield, to the Holy One of Israel our king.	18 Perché tu sei il vanto della sua forza e con il tuo favore innalzi la nostra potenza.
19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful you said: 'I have given strength to a warrior, I have raisedup a man chosen from my people.	19 Perché del Signore è il nostro scudo, il nostro re, del Santo d'Israele.
20 'I have found David my servant, and anointed him with my holy oil.	20 Un tempo parlasti in visione ai tuoi santi dicendo: "Ho portato aiuto a un prode, ho innalzato un eletto tra il mio popolo.
21 My hand wil always be with him, my arm wil make him strong.	21 Ho trovato Davide, mio servo, con il mio santo olio l'ho consacrato;
22 'No enemy wil be able to outwit him, no wicked man overcome him;	22 la mia mano è il suo sostegno, il mio braccio è la sua forza.
23 I shal crush his enemies before him, strike his opponents dead.	23 Su di lui non trionferà il nemico, né l'opprimerà l'iniquo.
24 'My constancy and faithful love will be with him, in my name his strength wil be triumphant.	24 Annienterò davanti a lui i suoi nemici e colpirò quelli che lo odiano.
25 I shal establish his power over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.	25 La mia fedeltà e la mia grazia saranno con lui e nel mio nome si innalzerà la sua potenza.
26 'He wil cry to me, "You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation!"	26 Stenderò sul mare la sua mano e sui fiumi la sua destra.
27 So I shal make him my first-born, the highest of earthly kings.	27 Egli mi invocherà: Tu sei mio padre, mio Dio e roccia della mia salvezza.
28 'I shal maintain my faithful love for him always, my covenant with him wil stay firm.	28 Io lo costituirò mio primogenito, il più alto tra i re della terra.
29 I have established his dynasty for ever, his throne to be as lasting as the heavens.	29 Gli conserverò sempre la mia grazia, la mia alleanza gli sarà fedele.
30 'Should his descendants desert my law, and not keep to my rulings,	30 Stabilirò per sempre la sua discendenza, il suo trono come i giorni del cielo.
31 should they violate my statutes, and not observe my commandments,	31 Se i suoi figli abbandoneranno la mia legge e non seguiranno i miei decreti,
32 'then I shal punish their offences with the rod, their guilt with the whip,	32 se violeranno i miei statuti e non osserveranno i miei comandi,
33 but I shal never withdraw from him my faithful love, I shal not belie my constancy.	33 punirò con la verga il loro peccato e con flagelli la loro colpa.
34 'I shal not violate my covenant, I shal not withdraw the word once spoken.	34 Ma non gli toglierò la mia grazia e alla mia fedeltà non verrò mai meno.
35 I have sworn by my holiness, once and for al , never will I break faith with David.	35 Non violerò la mia alleanza, non muterò la mia promessa.
36 'His dynasty shal endure for ever, his throne like the sun before me,	36 Sulla mia santità ho giurato una volta per sempre: certo non mentirò a Davide.
37 as the moon is established for ever, a faithful witness in the skies.'Pause	37 In eterno durerà la sua discendenza, il suo trono davanti a me quanto il sole,
38 Yet you yourself -- you have spurned and rejected, and have vented your wrath on your anointed,	38 sempre saldo come la luna, testimone fedele nel cielo".
39 you have repudiated the covenant with your servant, dishonoured his crown in the dust.	39 Ma tu lo hai respinto e ripudiato, ti sei adirato contro il tuo consacrato;
40 You have pierced al his defences, and laid his strongholds in ruins,	40 hai rotto l'alleanza con il tuo servo, hai profanato nel fango la sua corona.
41 everyone passing by plunders him, he has become the butt of his neighbours.	41 Hai abbattuto tutte le sue mura e diroccato le sue fortezze;
42 You have raised high the right hand of his opponents, have made al his enemies happy;	42 tutti i passanti lo hanno depredato, è divenuto lo scherno dei suoi vicini.
43 you have snapped off his sword on a rock, and failed to support him in battle.	43 Hai fatto trionfare la destra dei suoi rivali, hai fatto gioire tutti i suoi nemici.
44 You have stripped him of his splendid sceptre, and toppled his throne to the ground.	44 Hai smussato il filo della sua spada e non l'hai sostenuto nella battaglia.
45 You have aged him before his time, enveloped him in shame.Pause	45 Hai posto fine al suo splendore, hai rovesciato a terra il suo trono.
46 How long, Yahweh, will you remain hidden? For ever? Is your anger to go on smouldering like a fire?	46 Hai abbreviato i giorni della sua giovinezza e lo hai coperto di vergogna.
47 Remember me; how long have I left? For what pointless end did you create al the children of Adam?	47 Fino a quando, Signore, continuerai a tenerti nascosto, arderà come fuoco la tua ira?
48 Who can live and never see death? Who can save himself from the clutches of Sheol?Pause	48 Ricorda quant'è breve la mia vita. Perché quasi un nulla hai creato ogni uomo?
49 Lord, what of those pledges of your faithful love? You made an oath to David by your constancy.	49 Quale vivente non vedrà la morte, sfuggirà al potere degli inferi?
50 Do not forget the insults to your servant; I take to heart the taunts of the nations,	50 Dove sono, Signore, le tue grazie di un tempo, che per la tua fedeltà hai giurato a Davide?
51 which your enemies have level ed, Yahweh, have level ed at the footsteps of your anointed!	51 Ricorda, Signore, l'oltraggio dei tuoi servi: porto nel cuore le ingiurie di molti popoli,
52 Blessed be Yahweh for ever. Amen, Amen.	52 con le quali, Signore, i tuoi nemici insultano, insultano i passi del tuo consacrato.
	53 Benedetto il Signore in eterno. Amen, amen.
