| 1 ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܗ̇ܢܘ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܡܕܒܚܐ ܕܥܠܘ̈ܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ | 1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.' |
| 2 ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܡܟܢܫܘ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܢܥܒܕܘܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܦܣܘ̈ܠܐ ܘܢܦܣܩܘܢ ܟܐܦ̈ܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ | 2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God. |
| 3 ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܩܝܢ̈ܝܐ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܦܪܙܠܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܦܕ̈ܘܥܐ ܘܐܟܣ̈ܝܕܐ ܘܡܘܟ̈ܠܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ ܬܩܢ ܕܘܝܕ ܘܢܚܫܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܡܬܩܠܐ | 3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed, |
| 4 ܘܩܝܣ̈ܐ ܕܐܪܙܐ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܬܝܘ ܨܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܘܨܝܕܢ̈ܝܐ ܩܝ̈ܣܐ ܕܐܪܙܐ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܒ ܠܕܘܝܕ | 4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities. |
| 5 ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܒܪܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܫܐ ܛܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܙܥܘܪܐ ܘܥܠܘܗܝ ܗܘ ܐܡܝܪ ܒܟܬܒܐ ܕܢܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܕܢܘܪܒܝܘܗܝ ܠܥܠ ܠܫܡܐ ܘܠܪܒܘܬܐ ܘܠܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܐܛܝܒ ܠܗ ܐܢܐ ܟܘܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܡܬܒܥܐ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܚܝ̈ܝ ܘܛܝܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܟܘܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܡܬܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܚܣܪ | 5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations. |
| 6 ܘܩܪܐ ܠܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܒܪܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܢܬ ܬܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ | 6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel. |
| 7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod. |
| 8 ܡܛܠ ܕܫܕܪ ܥܠܝ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܢܒܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܕܡܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܐܫܕܬ ܘܩܐܪ̈ܣܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܐ ܥܒܕܬ ܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܡܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܐܫܕܬ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܩܕܡܝ | 8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth. |
| 9 ܒܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܬܝܠܕ ܠܟ ܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܢܝܚܐ ܘܐܢܝܚ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܥܠܕܒܒ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܚܕܝܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܫܡܗ ܘܫܠܡܐ ܘܢܝܚܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܝܘܡ̈ܬܗ | 9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity. |
| 10 ܘܗܘ ܢܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝ ܘܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܐܝܟ ܒܪܐ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܐܒܐ ܘܐܬܩܢ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ | 10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever." |
| 11 ܘܐܦ ܗܫܐ ܒܪܝ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܡܟ ܘܬܟܫܪ ܘܬܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐ̇ܡܪ ܠܟ | 11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you. |
| 12 ܘܗܘ ܢܬܠ ܠܟ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܢܒܝܘܬܐ ܘܢܦܩܕܟ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܬܛܪ ܢܡܘܣ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕܢܝ | 12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God. |
| 13 ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܬܟܫܪ ܘܐܢ ܗܘ ܕܬܛܪ ܘܬܥܒܕ ܦܘܩ̈ܕܢܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܢܡܘ̈ܣܐ ܘܕܝ̣ܢ̈ܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܠܡܠܦܘ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܬܥܫܢ ܘܐܬܓܒܪ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܘܐܦܠܐ ܬܙܘܥ | 13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless. |
| 14 ܘܟܠܡܕܡ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܛܝܒܬ ܠܟ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܡܬܒܥܐ ܠܒܢܝܢܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܛܝܒܬ ܠܟ ܟܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܡܐܐ ܐܠܦ̈ܝܢ ܛܝܒܬ ܠܟ ܣܐܡܐ ܒܡܢܝܢܐ ܐܠܦ ܐܠܦ̈ܝܢ ܟܟܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܢܚܫܐ ܘܦܪܙܠܐ ܛܝܒܬ ܠܟ ܕܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܘܟܠ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܠܐ ܝ̇ܕܥܝܢ ܠܡܚܫܒ ܣܟܐ ܕܠܝܛܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܣܓܝ ܗܘ ܘܩܝ̈ܣܐ ܘܟܐܦ̈ܐ ܛܝܒܬ ܠܟ ܘܥܠܝܗܝܢ ܬܘܣܦ | 14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more. |
| 15 ܘܐܣܓܐ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܥܒܝ̈ܕܬܐ ܦܣܘ̈ܠܐ ܘܐܪ̈ܕܟܠܐ ܘܢܓܪ̈ܐ ܕܩܝܣܐ | 15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work, |
| 16 ܘܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܣܐܡܐ ܘܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܢܚܫܐ ܘܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝ ܦܪܙܠܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܘܐܫܬܪܪ ܘܥܒ̣ܕ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܥܘܕܪܢܟ | 16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!' |
| 17 ܘܦܩܕ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܩܫܝ̈ܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܕܪܘ ܠܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܒܪܝ | 17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon. |
| 18 ܡܛܠ ܕܗܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܘܡܥܕܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܡܣܝܥ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܚܕܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܗܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܬܬܟܒܫ ܐܪܥܐ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܩܕܡ ܥܡܗ | 18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people? |
| 19 ܘܐܦ ܗܫܐ ܐܬܩܢܘ ܠܒܟܘܢ ܘܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܠܡܨܠܝܘ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܘܩܘܡܘ ܘܒܢܘ ܡܩܕܫܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܥܠܘ ܠܬܡܢ ܩܒܘܬܐ ܕܒܗ̇ ܣܝܡܐ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܢ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܢ ܘܒܢܘ ܒܝܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܫܡܗ ܪܒܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܥܠܝܢ | 19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.' |
