Proverbi 7

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Figliuolo mio, custodisci le mie parole e fa' tesoro de' miei precetti;	1 My son, guard my words and conceal my precepts within you.
2 osserva, o figliuolo, i miei comandamenti e vivrai, e sia la mia legge come la pupilla de' tuoi occhi.	2 Son, preserve my commandments, and you shall live. And keep my law as the pupil of your eye.
3 Legali alle tue dita, scrivili sulle tavole del tuo cuore.	3 Bind it with your fingers; write it on the tablets of your heart.
4 Di ' alla sapienza : « Tu sei la mia sorella” e la prudenza chi ama la tua amica;	4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call prudence your friend.
5 affinchè ti custodisca dalla donna altrui, dalla straniera che ha le parole leziose.	5 So may she guard you from the woman who is an outsider, and from the stranger who sweetens her words.
6 Una volta dalla finestra di casa miarimirai attraverso le gelosie.	6 For I gaze from the window of my house, through the lattice,
7 E vedo dei ragazzie osservo un giovane fuor di senno,	7 and I see little ones. I consider a frenzied youth,
8 che passa per la piazza, rasente l'angolo, e s'avanza sulla strada della casa d'una tale.	8 who crosses the street at the corner and close to the way of that house.
9 Era, sull'imbrunire, in sul far della sera, nell'oscurarsi la notte e farsi buia.	9 He steps into shadows, as day becomes evening, into the darkness and gloom of the night.
10 Ed ecco che gli si fa incontro una donna in abbigliamento da meretrice e preparata a dar la caccia alle anime; ciarliera, vagabonda,	10 And behold, a woman meets him, dressed like a harlot, prepared to captivate souls: chattering and rambling,
11 irrequieta, che non può mai tenere i piedi in casa sua.	11 unwilling to bear silence, unable to keep her feet at home,
12 Ora fuori, ora per le piazze, ora appostata a fianco delle cantonate.	12 now outside, now in the streets, now lying in ambush near the corners.
13 Essa dunque, abbracciato il giovane, lo bacia e sfrontatamente lo accarezza dicendo:	13 And overtaking the youth, she kisses him, and with a provocative face, she flatters him, saying:
14 «Delle vittime io doveva per un voto fatto ed oggi ho sciolto il mio voto;	14 “I vowed sacrifices for well-being. Today I have repaid my vows.
15 ond'è che ti uscii incontrobramosa di vederti e ti ho trovato.	15 Because of this, I have gone out to meet you, desiring to see you, and I have found you.
16 Ho preparato coi fiocchi il mio letto l'ho addobbato di tappezzerie ricamate di Egitto;	16 I have woven my bed with cords. I have strewn it with embroidered tapestries from Egypt.
17 ho profumata la mia cameradi mirra, aloè e cinnamomo.	17 I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloe, and cinnamon.
18 Vieni, inebriamoci di carezze, godiamo gli amplessi desiderati finchè non luccichi il giorno.	18 Come, let us be inebriated in abundance, and let us delight in the embraces of desire, until the day begins to dawn.
19 Giacchè il mio uomo non è in casa, ha intrapreso un lunghissimo viaggio;	19 For my husband is not in his house. He has gone away on a very long journey.
20 ha portato seco un sacchetto di denari e non tornerà a casa che al plenilunio».	20 He took with him a bag of money. He will return to his house on the day of the full moon.”
21 Con molte parole lo tira nella rete e colle lusinghe delle sue labbra lo trascina,	21 She enmeshed him with many words, and she drew him forward with the flattery of her lips.
22 ed egli tosto le va dietro, quasi giovenco condotto al macello e come agnello che scherza e saltella e non sa l'inconscio, d'esser menato al capestro,	22 Immediately, he follows her, like an ox being led to the sacrifice, and like a lamb acting lasciviously, and not knowing that he is being drawn foolishly into chains,
23 finchè una lama gli trapassi il cuore; come uccello che tende veloce al laccio e non sa che si tratta della sua vita.	23 until the arrow pierces his liver. It is just as if a bird were to hurry into the snare. And he does not know that his actions endanger his own soul.
24 Ed ora, figliuolo, ascoltami, e fa' attenzione alle parole della mia bocca:	24 Therefore, my son, hear me now, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Il tuo cuore non ti trascini per la strada di costei; non lasciarti attirare agl'ingannevoli suoi sentieri.	25 Do not let your mind be pulled into her ways. And do not be deceived by her paths.
26 Perchè molti ne ha fatti cadere feriti e anche i più forti furono da essa fatti perire.	26 For she has tossed aside many wounded, and some of those who were very strong have been slain by her.
27 Le strade dell'Inferno sono quelle della sua casa che scendono nei penetrali della Morte.	27 Her household is the way to Hell, reaching even to the inner places of death.
