He was indeed the first-born but, when he defiled his father's bed,his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and he was no longer reckoned as the eldest son.
2 hanem Júda lett a legerősebb a testvérei között s az ő törzséből származtak a fejedelmek, az elsőszülöttség pedig Józsefnek jutott. –	2 Although Judah grew greater than his brothers and a leader came from him, the birthright wasJoseph's.

23 Manassze fél törzsének fiai a Básán határaitól a Baál-Hermonig és a Szánirig terjedő földet meg a Hermon hegyet lakták, mivel igen sokan voltak.	23 The sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the territory between Bashan and Baal-Hermon, Senirand Mount Hermon. They were numerous.
24 A családok fejei a következők voltak: Éfer, Jesi, Eliél, Ezriél, Jirmeja, Hodavja és Jahdiél. 26 Erre Izrael Istene felingerelte ellenük Fúlnak, az asszírok királyának lelkét és Tiglatpilezernek, Asszúr királyának lelkét s az fogságba vitte Rúbent, Gádot és Manassze törzsének felét s Láhelába, meg a Háborhoz és Árába meg Gózán folyójához vitette őket, s ott is vannak mind a mai napig.	26 the God of Israel roused the hostility of Pul, king of Assyria, that is the wrath of Tiglath-Pileser, king ofAssyria who deported them -- the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh -- taking them off toHalah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan. They are stil there today.
27 Lévi fiai Gerson, Kaát és Merári.	27 Sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath and Merari.

31 Abisue Bokkit nemzette, Bokki Ózit nemzette,	31 Abishua fathered Bukki, Bukki fathered Uzzi.
32 Ózi Zaráját nemzette, Zarája Merajótot nemzette,	32 Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.
33 Merajót Amarját nemzette, Amarja Ahitóbot nemzette,	33 Meraioth fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
34 Ahitób Szádokot nemzette, Szádok Ahimaászt nemzette,	34 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Ahimaaz.
35 Ahimaász Azarját nemzette, Azarja Johanánt nemzette,	35 Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, Azariah fathered Johanan.
