1 Salmo di David, quando fuggiva dal cospetto del figliuolo Assalonne. Signore, come mai si sono moltiplicati quelli, che mi perseguitano? molti insorgono contro di me.	1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2 Molti dicono all'anima mia: Salute per lui non è nel suo Dio.	2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 Tu però, o Signore, tu se' mio scudo, mia gloria, e tu rinnalzi il mio capo.	3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 Alzai le voci mie, e le grida al Signore, ed egli mi esaudì dal suo monte santo.	4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 Io dormii, e assonnai, e mi svegliai, perché per man mi prese il Signore.	5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
6 Non avrò timore del popolo innumerabile, che mi circonda; levati su, o Signore, salvami, Dio mio.	6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Peroóchè tu hai percosso tutti coloro, che senza ragione mi sono avversi: hai spezzati i denti de' peccatori.	7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Del Signore ell'è la salute; e sopra il tuo popolo verrà la tua benedizione.	8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
