1 Parole di Amos, che era pecoraio di Tekòa, il quale ebbe visioni riguardo a Israele, al tempo di Ozia re della Giudea, e al tempo di Geroboàmo figlio di Ioas, re di Israele, due anni prima del terremoto.	1 Words of Amos one of the shepherds of Tekoa. The visions he had about Israel, in the time of Uzziahking of Judah and Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 Egli disse: "Il Signore ruggisce da Sion e da Gerusalemme fa udir la sua voce; sono desolate le steppe dei pastori, è inaridita la cima del Carmelo".	2 He said: Yahweh roars from Zion, and makes himself heard from Jerusalem; the shepherds' pasturesmourn, and the crown of Carmel dries up.
3 Così dice il Signore: "Per tre misfatti di Damasco e per quattro non revocherò il mio decreto, perché hanno trebbiato con trebbie ferrate Gàlaad.	3 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Damascus, I have made my decree and wilnot relent: because they have threshed Gilead with iron threshing-sledges,
4 Alla casa di Cazaèl darò fuoco e divorerà i palazzi di Ben-Hadàd;	4 I shal send fire down on the House of Hazael to devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad;
5 spezzerò il catenaccio di Damasco, sterminerò gli abitanti di Biqat-Avèn e chi detiene lo scettro di Bet-Eden e il popolo di Aram andrà schiavo a Kir", dice il Signore.	5 I shal break the gate-bar of Damascus, I shal destroy the inhabitant of Bikath-Aven, the holder of thesceptre in Beth-Eden, and the people of Aram wil be deported to Kir, Yahweh says.
6 Così dice il Signore: "Per tre misfatti di Gaza e per quattro non revocherò il mio decreto, perché hanno deportato popolazioni intere per consegnarle a Edom;	6 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Gaza, I have made my decree and wil notrelent: because they have deported entire nations as slaves to Edom,
7 appiccherò il fuoco alle mura di Gaza e divorerà i suoi palazzi,	7 I shal send fire down on the walls of Gaza to devour its palaces;
8 estirperò da Asdòd chi siede sul trono e da Ascalòna chi vi tiene lo scettro; rivolgerò la mano contro Ekròn e così perirà il resto dei Filistei", dice il Signore.	8 I shal destroy the inhabitant of Ashdod, the holder of the sceptre in Ashkelon; I shal turn my handagainst Ekron and the remnant of the Philistines wil perish, says the Lord Yahweh.
9 Così dice il Signore: "Per tre misfatti di Tiro e per quattro non revocherò il mio decreto, perché hanno deportato popolazioni intere a Edom, senza ricordare l'alleanza fraterna;	9 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Tyre, I have made my decree and will notrelent: because they have handed hosts of captives over to Edom, heedless of a covenant of brotherhood,
10 appiccherò il fuoco alle mura di Tiro e divorerà i suoi palazzi".	10 I shall send fire down on the wal s of Tyre to devour its palaces.
11 Così dice il Signore: "Per tre misfatti di Edome per quattro non revocherò il mio decreto, perché ha inseguito con la spada suo fratello e ha soffocato la pietà verso di lui, perché ha continuato l'ira senza fine e ha conservato lo sdegno per sempre;	11 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Edom, I have made my decree and wil notrelent: because he has pursued his brother with the sword, because he has stifled any sense of pity, andperpetual y nursed his anger and constantly cherished his rage,
12 appiccherò il fuoco a Teman e divorerà i palazzi di Bozra".	12 I shall send fire down on Teman to devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 Così dice il Signore: "Per tre misfatti degli Ammoniti e per quattro non revocherò il mio decreto, perché hanno sventrato le donne incinte di Gàlaad per allargare il loro confine;	13 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of the Ammonites, I have made my decreeand will not relent: because they have disembowelled the pregnant women of Gilead in order to extend their ownfrontiers,
14 appiccherò il fuoco alle mura di Rabbà e divorerà i suoi palazzi tra il fragore di un giorno di battaglia, fra il turbine di un giorno di tempesta;	14 I shall light a fire against the walls of Rabbah to devour its palaces amid war cries on the day of battle,in a whirlwind on the day of storm,
15 il loro re andrà in esilio, egli insieme ai suoi capi", dice il Signore.	15 and their king shal go into captivity, he and his chief men with him, says Yahweh.
