1 Se una persona pecca perché nulla dichiara, benché abbia udito la formula di scongiuro e sia essa stessa testimone o abbia visto o sappia, sconterà la sua iniquità.	1 ' "If someone sins in any of these fol owing cases: "He should have come forward to give evidence whenhe heard the formal adjuration, having seen the incident or known the facts; but he has not spoken out, and sobears the consequences of his guilt;
2 Oppure quando qualcuno, senza avvedersene, tocca una cosa immonda, come il cadavere d'una bestia o il cadavere d'un animale domestico o quello d'un rettile, rimarrà egli stesso immondo e colpevole.	2 "or someone touches something unclean, whatever it may be -- the dead body of an unclean animal,wild or tame, or of one of the unclean reptiles -- and without realising it becomes unclean, he becomesanswerable for it;
3 Oppure quando, senza avvedersene, tocca una immondezza umana - una qualunque delle cose per le quali l'uomo diviene immondo - quando verrà a saperlo, sarà colpevole.	3 "or he touches some human uncleanness, whatever it may be, contact with which makes him unclean;he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;
4 Oppure quando uno, senza badarvi, parlando con leggerezza, avrà giurato, con uno di quei giuramenti che gli uomini proferiscono alla leggera, di fare qualche cosa di male o di bene, se lo saprà, ne sarà colpevole.	4 "or someone lets slip an oath to do something either evil or good, in any of those matters on whichsomeone may let slip an oath; he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;
5 Quando uno dunque si sarà reso colpevole d'una di queste cose, confesserà il peccato commesso;	5 "if he is answerable in any of those cases, he wil have to confess the sin committed.
6 porterà al Signore, come riparazione della sua colpa per il peccato commesso, una femmina del bestiame minuto, pecora o capra, come sacrificio espiatorio; il sacerdote farà per lui il rito espiatorio per il suo peccato.	6 As a sacrifice of reparation for the sin committed, he wil bring Yahweh a female from the flock (sheep orgoat) as a sacrifice for sin; and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him to free him from his sin.
7 Se non ha mezzi per procurarsi una pecora o una capra, porterà al Signore, come riparazione della sua colpa per il suo peccato, due tortore o due colombi: uno come sacrificio espiatorio, l'altro come olocausto.	7 "If he cannot afford an animal from the flock as a sacrifice of reparation for the sin he has committed, hewil bring Yahweh two turtledoves or two young pigeons -- one as a sacrifice for sin and the other as a burntoffering.
8 Li porterà al sacerdote, il quale offrirà prima quello per l'espiazione: gli spaccherà la testa vicino alla nuca, ma senza staccarla;	8 He wil bring them to the priest who wil first offer the one intended for the sacrifice for sin. The priest wilwring its neck but not remove the head.
9 poi spargerà il sangue del sacrificio per il peccato sopra la parete dell'altare e ne spremerà il resto alla base dell'altare. Questo è un sacrificio espiatorio.	9 He wil sprinkle the side of the altar with the victim's blood, and then squeeze out the rest of the blood atthe foot of the altar. This is a sacrifice for sin.
10 Dell'altro uccello offrirà un olocausto, secondo le norme stabilite. Così il sacerdote farà per lui il rito espiatorio per il peccato che ha commesso e gli sarà perdonato.	10 He will then offer the other bird as a burnt offering according to the ritual. This is how the priest mustperform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven.
11 Ma se non ha mezzi per procurarsi due tortore o due colombi, porterà, come offerta per il peccato commesso, un decimo di 'efa' di fior di farina, come sacrificio espiatorio; non vi metterà né olio né incenso, perché è un sacrificio per il peccato.	11 "If he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he will bring a tenth of an ephah of wheatenflour as an offering for the sin committed; he must not mix oil with it or put incense on it, since this is a sacrificefor sin.
12 Porterà la farina al sacerdote, che ne prenderà una manciata come memoriale, facendola bruciare sull'altare sopra le vittime consumate dal fuoco in onore del Signore. È un sacrificio espiatorio.	12 He will bring it to the priest, who wil take a handful of it as a memorial, and burn this on the altar inaddition to the offerings of food burnt for Yahweh. This is a sacrifice for sin.
13 Così il sacerdote farà per lui il rito espiatorio per il peccato commesso in uno dei casi suddetti e gli sarà perdonato. Il resto sarà per il sacerdote, come nell'oblazione".	13 This is how the priest must perform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed inany of those cases, and he wil be forgiven. In this case, the priest has the same rights as in the case of a cerealoffering." '
14 Il Signore aggiunse a Mosè:	14 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
15 "Se qualcuno commetterà una mancanza e peccherà per errore riguardo a cose consacrate al Signore, porterà al Signore, in sacrificio di riparazione, un ariete senza difetto, preso dal gregge, che valuterai in sicli d'argento in base al siclo del santuario;	15 'If someone is unfaithful and sins inadvertently by infringing Yahweh's sacred rights, as a sacrifice ofreparation he must bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock, the value of which wil be decided by youin silver shekels according to the rate of the sanctuary-shekel.
16 risarcirà il danno fatto al santuario, aggiungendovi un quinto, e lo darà al sacerdote, il quale farà per lui il rito espiatorio con l'ariete offerto come sacrificio di riparazione e gli sarà perdonato.	16 He will make amends for what his sin subtracted from the sacred rights, adding one-fifth to the value,and give it to the priest. The priest wil then perform the rite of expiation for him with the ram for the sacrifice ofreparation and he wil be forgiven.
17 Quando uno peccherà facendo, senza saperlo, una cosa vietata dal Signore, sarà colpevole e dovrà scontare la mancanza.	17 'If someone sins and without realising it does one of the things forbidden by Yahweh'scommandments, he will answer for it and bear the consequences of his guilt.
18 Presenterà al sacerdote, come sacrificio di riparazione, un ariete senza difetto, preso dal bestiame minuto, secondo la tua stima; il sacerdote farà per lui il rito espiatorio per l'errore commesso per ignoranza e gli sarà perdonato.	18 As a sacrifice of reparation he must bring the priest an unblemished ram from his flock to the valuewhich you decide, and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him for the oversight unwittingly committed,and he wil be forgiven.
19 È un sacrificio di riparazione; quell'individuo si era certo reso colpevole verso il Signore".	19 This is a sacrifice of reparation; the man was certainly answerable to Yahweh.'
20 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	20 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
21 "Quando uno peccherà e commetterà una mancanza verso il Signore, rifiutando al suo prossimo un deposito da lui ricevuto o un pegno consegnatogli o una cosa rubata o estorta con frode	21 'If someone sins and is unfaithful against Yahweh by deceiving his fel ow-countryman over a deposit ora security, or by withholding something due to him or by exploiting him;
22 o troverà una cosa smarrita, mentendo a questo proposito e giurando il falso circa qualcuna delle cose per cui un uomo può peccare,	22 'or if he finds lost property and denies it; 'or if he perjures himself about anything that a human beingmay do criminal y in such matters;
23 se avrà così peccato e si sarà reso colpevole, restituirà la cosa rubata o estorta con frode o il deposito che gli era stato affidato o l'oggetto smarrito che aveva trovato	23 'if he sins and so becomes answerable, he must restore what he has taken or demanded in excess:the deposit confided to him, the lost property that he has found,
24 o qualunque cosa per cui abbia giurato il falso. Farà la restituzione per intero, aggiungendovi un quinto e renderà ciò al proprietario il giorno stesso in cui offrirà il sacrificio di riparazione.	24 or any object about which he has perjured himself. He will add one-fifth to the principal and pay thewhole to the person who held the property rights on the day when he incurred the guilt.
25 Porterà al sacerdote, come sacrificio di riparazione in onore del Signore, un ariete senza difetto, preso dal bestiame minuto secondo la tua stima.	25 He will then bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock to the value which you decide, to thepriest as a sacrifice of reparation,
26 Il sacerdote farà il rito espiatorio per lui davanti al Signore e gli sarà perdonato, qualunque sia la mancanza di cui si è reso colpevole".	26 and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh and he will be forgiven, whateverthe act by which he incurred guilt.'
