1 Salomone cominciò a costruire il tempio del Signore in Gerusalemme sul monte Moria dove il Signore era apparso a Davide suo padre, nel luogo preparato da Davide sull'aia di Ornan il Gebuseo.	1 Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David hisfather had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Incominciò a costruire nel secondo mese dell'anno quarto del suo regno.	2 He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.
3 Queste sono le misure delle fondamenta poste da Salomone per edificare il tempio: lunghezza, in cubiti dell'antica misura, sessanta cubiti; larghezza venti cubiti.	3 These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length incubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;
4 Il vestibolo, che era di fronte al tempio nel senso della larghezza del tempio, era di venti cubiti; la sua altezza era di centoventi cubiti. Egli ricoprì l'interno di oro purissimo.	4 and the portico in front of the house was the ful width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its heightwas a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.

8 Costruì la cella del Santo dei santi, lunga, nel senso della larghezza della navata, venti cubiti e larga venti cubiti. La rivestì di oro fino, impiegandone seicento talenti.	8 He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hal , beingtwenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,

10 Nella cella del Santo dei santi eresse due cherubini, lavoro di scultura e li rivestì d'oro.	10 In the Holy of Holies he model ed two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them withgold.
11 Le ali dei cherubini erano lunghe venti cubiti. Un'ala del primo cherubino, lunga cinque cubiti, toccava la parete della cella; l'altra, lunga cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala del secondo cherubino.	11 The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wal ofthe house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;
12 Un'ala del secondo cherubino, di cinque cubiti, toccava la parete della cella; l'altra, di cinque cubiti, toccava l'ala del primo cherubino.	12 while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing,five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.
13 Queste ali dei cherubini, spiegate, misuravano venti cubiti; essi stavano in piedi, voltati verso l'interno.	13 The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with theirfaces towards the Hall.
14 Salomone fece la cortina di stoffa di violetto, di porpora, di cremisi e di bisso; sopra vi fece ricamare cherubini.	14 He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of wingedcreatures on it.
15 Di fronte al tempio eresse due colonne, alte trentacinque cubiti; il capitello sulla cima di ciascuna era di cinque cubiti.	15 In front of the Hal he made two pil ars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capitalmeasuring five cubits.
16 Fece ghirlande e le pose sulla cima delle colonne. Fece anche cento melagrane e le collocò fra le ghirlande.	16 He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pil ars, and made a hundred pomegranates togo on the festoons.
17 Eresse le colonne di fronte alla navata, una a destra e una a sinistra; quella a destra la chiamò Iachin e quella a sinistra Boaz.	17 He erected the pil ars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the righthe cal ed Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.
