¹ Come near and listen, you nations, pay attention, you peoples. Let the earth and its contents listen, theworld and its entire population.	¹ ACCOSTATEVI, nazioni, per ascoltare; e voi, popoli, siate attenti; ascolti la terra, e ciò che è in essa; il mondo, e tutto ciò che in esso è prodotto.
² For Yahweh is angry with al the nations, enraged with al their hordes. He has vowed them todestruction, handed them over to slaughter.	² Perciocchè vi è indegnazione del Signore sopra tutte le nazioni, ed ira ardente sopra tutti i loro eserciti; egli le ha condannate a sterminio, egli le ha date ad uccisione.
³ Their dead wil be thrown away, the stench wil rise from their corpses, the mountains wil run with theirblood,	³ E i loro uccisi saranno gittati via; e la puzza de’ lor corpi morti salirà, e i monti si struggeranno, essendo stemperati nel lor sangue.
⁴ the entire array of heaven wil fall apart. The heavens wil be rol ed up like a scrol and al their array willfade away, as fade the leaves fal ing from the vine, as fade those fal ing from the fig tree.	⁴ E tutto l’esercito del cielo si dissolverà, e i cieli si ripiegheranno, come un libro; e tutto l’esercito loro cascherà, come casca una foglia di vite, e come cascano le foglie dal fico.
⁵ For my sword has drunk deep in the heavens: see how it now fal s on Edom, on the people vowed todestruction, to punish them.	⁵ Perciocchè la mia spada è inebbriata nel cielo; ecco, scenderà in giudicio sopra Edom, e sopra il popolo ch’io ho destinato ad isterminio.
⁶ Yahweh's sword is gorged with blood, it is greasy with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with thefat of the kidneys of rams. For Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.	⁶ La spada del Signore è piena di sangue, è ingrassata di grasso; di sangue d’agnelli, e di becchi; di grasso d’arnioni di montoni; perciocchè il Signore fa un sacrificio in Bosra, ed una grande uccisione nel paese di Edom.
⁷ The wild oxen will fal with them, the bullocks with the bul s; their land wil be drenched with blood andtheir dust wil be greasy with fat.	⁷ E i liocorni andranno a basso con loro, ed i giovenchi, insieme co’ tori; e il lor paese sarà inebbriato di sangue, e la lor polvere sarà ingrassata di grasso.
⁸ For this wil be Yahweh's day of vengeance, the year of retribution in Zion's lawsuit.	⁸ Perciocchè vi è un giorno di vendetta appo il Signore, un anno di retribuzioni, per mantener la casa di Sion
⁹ Its streams will turn into pitch, its dust into brimstone, its country wil turn into blazing pitch.	⁹ E i torrenti di quella saranno convertiti in pece, e la sua polvere in zolfo, e la sua terra sarà cangiata in pece ardente.
¹⁰ Never quenched night or day, its smoke rising for ever, it wil lie waste age after age, no one wil travelthrough it for ever and ever.	¹⁰ Non sarà giammai spenta, nè giorno, nè notte; il suo fumo salirà in perpetuo; sarà desolata per ogni età: non vi sarà niuno che passi per essa in alcun secolo.
¹¹ It wil be the haunt of pelican and hedgehog, the owl and the raven wil live there; over it Yahweh wilstretch the measuring line of chaos and the plumb-line of emptiness.	¹¹ E il pellicano e la civetta la possederanno; e la nottola, e il corvo; e il Signore stenderà sopra essa il regolo della desolazione, e il livello del disertamento.
¹² There will be no more nobles to proclaim the royal authority; there will be an end of al its princes.	¹² Il regno chiamerà i nobili di essa, e non ve ne sarà quivi più alcuno, e tutti i suoi principi saran mancati.
¹³ Brambles wil grow in its bastions, nettles and thorn-bushes in its fortresses, it will be the lair ofjackals, an enclosure for ostriches.	¹³ Le spine cresceranno ne’ suoi palazzi; e l’ortica e il cardo nelle sue fortezze; ed essa sarà un ricetto di sciacalli, un cortile di ulule.
¹⁴ Wild cats wil meet hyenas there, satyr will cal to satyr, there Lilith too wil lurk and find somewhere torest.	¹⁴ E quivi si scontreranno le fiere de’ deserti co’ gufi; ed un demonio griderà all’altro; quivi eziandio si poserà l’uccello della notte e si troverà luogo di riposo.
¹⁵ The snake wil nest and lay eggs there, will hatch and gather its young into the shade; and there thevultures wil assemble, each one with its mate.	¹⁵ Quivi si anniderà il serpente e partorirà le sue uova, e le farà spicciare, covandole alla propria ombra; quivi eziandio si raduneranno gli avvoltoi l’un con l’altro.
¹⁶ Search in Yahweh's book, and read, not one of these will be missing, not one of them lacking a mate;for thus his mouth has ordained it, and his spirit has brought them together.	¹⁶ Ricercate nel libro del Signore, e leggete; pure un di quelli non vi mancherà, e l’uno non troverà fallar l’altro; perciocchè la sua bocca è quella che l’ha comandato, ed il suo spirito è quel che li ha radunati.
¹⁷ He has thrown the lot for each, his hand has measured out their share; they wil possess it for ever,and live there age after age.	¹⁷ Ed egli stesso ha loro tratta la sorte, e la sua mano ha loro spartita quello terra col regolo; essi la possederanno in perpetuo, ed abiteranno in essa per ogni età
