Isaiah 34

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Come near and listen, you nations, pay attention, you peoples. Let the earth and its contents listen, theworld and its entire population.	1 ¡Acérquense, naciones, para oír; pueblos, presten atención! ¡Escuche la tierra y todo lo que hay en ella, el mundo y todo lo que él produce!
2 For Yahweh is angry with al the nations, enraged with al their hordes. He has vowed them todestruction, handed them over to slaughter.	2 Porque el Señor está irritado contra todas las naciones y enfurecido contra todos sus ejércitos: los ha consagrado al exterminio, los ha destinado a la matanza.
3 Their dead wil be thrown away, the stench wil rise from their corpses, the mountains wil run with theirblood,	3 Sus víctimas son arrojadas fuera, de sus cadáveres sube el hedor, y con su sangre se disuelven las montañas.
4 the entire array of heaven wil fall apart. The heavens wil be rol ed up like a scrol and al their array willfade away, as fade the leaves fal ing from the vine, as fade those fal ing from the fig tree.	4 Se diluye todo el ejército del cielo, los cielos son enrollados como un pliego, y todo su ejército se marchita como se marchita el follaje de la vid, como cae marchita la hija de la higuera.
5 For my sword has drunk deep in the heavens: see how it now fal s on Edom, on the people vowed todestruction, to punish them.	5 Porque mi espada se abrevó en el cielo: miren cómo baja sobre Edom, sobre el pueblo que he condenado al juicio.
6 Yahweh's sword is gorged with blood, it is greasy with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with thefat of the kidneys of rams. For Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.	6 La espada del Señor está llena de sangre, impregnada de grasa, de la sangre de corderos y chivos, de la grasa de riñones de carneros. Porque el Señor tiene un sacrificio en Bosrá, una gran matanza en el país de Edom.
7 The wild oxen will fal with them, the bullocks with the bul s; their land wil be drenched with blood andtheir dust wil be greasy with fat.	7 Caen los búfalos con los terneros cebados, los novillos con los toros: su tierra se abreva con sangre, su suelo se impregna de grasa.
8 For this wil be Yahweh's day of vengeance, the year of retribution in Zion's lawsuit.	8 Porque es un día de venganza para el Señor, un año de desquite para la causa de Sión.
9 Its streams will turn into pitch, its dust into brimstone, its country wil turn into blazing pitch.	9 Sus torrentes se transformarán en resina y su suelo en azufre; su tierra se convertirá en resina ardiente,
10 Never quenched night or day, its smoke rising for ever, it wil lie waste age after age, no one wil travelthrough it for ever and ever.	10 que no se extinguirá ni de día ni de noche: la humareda subirá incesantemente. Quedará desierta de generación en generación, nunca más pasará nadie por allí.
11 It wil be the haunt of pelican and hedgehog, the owl and the raven wil live there; over it Yahweh wilstretch the measuring line of chaos and the plumb-line of emptiness.	11 Se adueñarán de ella el pelícano y el erizo, la lechuza y el cuervo habitarán allí. Se extenderá sobre ella la plomada del caos y el nivel del vacío.
12 There will be no more nobles to proclaim the royal authority; there will be an end of al its princes.	12 Los nobles no proclamarán más un rey y todos sus príncipes serán aniquilados.
13 Brambles wil grow in its bastions, nettles and thorn-bushes in its fortresses, it will be the lair ofjackals, an enclosure for ostriches.	13 En sus palacios crecerán zarzas, en sus fortalezas, ortigas y espinas; será una morada de chacales, una guarida de avestruces.
14 Wild cats wil meet hyenas there, satyr will cal to satyr, there Lilith too wil lurk and find somewhere torest.	14 Las fieras del desierto se juntarán con las hienas, los sátiros se llamarán unos a otros. Allí también descansará Lilit y tendrá un lugar de reposo.
15 The snake wil nest and lay eggs there, will hatch and gather its young into the shade; and there thevultures wil assemble, each one with its mate.	15 Allí anidará la serpiente y pondrá sus huevos, los incubará y los hará empollar; y allí también se reunirán los buitres, cada uno con su pareja.
16 Search in Yahweh's book, and read, not one of these will be missing, not one of them lacking a mate;for thus his mouth has ordained it, and his spirit has brought them together.	16 Consulten el libro del Señor y lean: no falta ninguno de ellos, ni uno solo ha perdido su pareja, porque lo ha mandado la boca del Señor y su espíritu los ha congregado.
17 He has thrown the lot for each, his hand has measured out their share; they wil possess it for ever,and live there age after age.	17 El mismo ha echado la suerte para ellos, su mano les asignó una parte con la cuerda: ellos la poseerán para siempre, habitará allí de generación en generación.
