Isaiah 34

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Come near and listen, you nations, pay attention, you peoples. Let the earth and its contents listen, theworld and its entire population.	1 Accostatevi, o nazioni, e ascoltate, o popoli, state attenti, stia a sentire la terra e tutto ciò che essa contiene, il mondo ed ogni suo prodotto.
2 For Yahweh is angry with al the nations, enraged with al their hordes. He has vowed them todestruction, handed them over to slaughter.	2 Perchè il Signore è sdegnato contro tutte le nazioni, è in furore contro tutti i loro eserciti, le ha condannate alla morte, le ha abbandonate alla strage.
3 Their dead wil be thrown away, the stench wil rise from their corpses, the mountains wil run with theirblood,	3 I loro uccisi saran gettati fuori (del sepolcro), si alzerà il puzzo dei loro cadaveri, e marciranno i monti a causa del loro sangue.
4 the entire array of heaven wil fall apart. The heavens wil be rol ed up like a scrol and al their array willfade away, as fade the leaves fal ing from the vine, as fade those fal ing from the fig tree.	4 E sarà disfatta tutta l'armata dei cieli, e i cieli saran chiusi come un libro, e cadrà tutta la loro armata, come cade la foglia dalla vite e dal fico.
5 For my sword has drunk deep in the heavens: see how it now fal s on Edom, on the people vowed todestruction, to punish them.	5 « Dopo essersi inebriata nei cieli la mia spada, ecco che piomberà sull'Idumea, sul popolo da me condannato, per giudizio, alla distruzione ».
6 Yahweh's sword is gorged with blood, it is greasy with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with thefat of the kidneys of rams. For Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.	6 La spada del Signore è piena di sangue, è coperta di grasso, del sangue degli agnelli e dei capri, del sangue dei grassi arieti: la vittima del Signore è in Bosra, il gran macello nella terra d'Edom.
7 The wild oxen will fal with them, the bullocks with the bul s; their land wil be drenched with blood andtheir dust wil be greasy with fat.	7 E con essi saranno abbattuti gli unicorni, i tori coi potenti: sarà inebriata la terra dal loro sangue, e il suolo s'impinguerà di grassumi.
8 For this wil be Yahweh's day of vengeance, the year of retribution in Zion's lawsuit.	8 Essendo il giorno della vendetta del Signore, l'anno delle giuste retribuzioni per Sion.
9 Its streams will turn into pitch, its dust into brimstone, its country wil turn into blazing pitch.	9 E i suoi torrenti si cangeranno in pece, e la sua terra in zolfo, i suoi campi in pece infiammata:
10 Never quenched night or day, its smoke rising for ever, it wil lie waste age after age, no one wil travelthrough it for ever and ever.	10 nè di notte nè di giorno si estinguerà l'incendio, ne salirà in eterno il fumo, sarà in abbandono per tutte le generazioni, e nei secoli dei secoli non vi sarà chi vi passi.
11 It wil be the haunt of pelican and hedgehog, the owl and the raven wil live there; over it Yahweh wilstretch the measuring line of chaos and the plumb-line of emptiness.	11 Sarà posseduta dall'onocrotalo e dai ricci, vi abiterà l'ibis e il corvo, sopra di lei sarà tesa la corda, per annientarla, e la livella per ridurla al nulla.
12 There will be no more nobles to proclaim the royal authority; there will be an end of al its princes.	12 Non avendo più nobili, chiederanno un re, ma tutti i suoi principi saranno annientati.
13 Brambles wil grow in its bastions, nettles and thorn-bushes in its fortresses, it will be the lair ofjackals, an enclosure for ostriches.	13 Nei suoi palazzi cresceranno le spine, le ortiche, e i rovi nelle sue fortezze, e sarà dimora del dragoni e parco degli struzzi.
14 Wild cats wil meet hyenas there, satyr will cal to satyr, there Lilith too wil lurk and find somewhere torest.	14 Vi s'incontreranno i demoni e gli onocentauri, i satiri grideranno l'uno all'altro, vi si accovaccerà la lamia, e vi troverà quiete.
15 The snake wil nest and lay eggs there, will hatch and gather its young into the shade; and there thevultures wil assemble, each one with its mate.	15 Il riccio vi ha la sua tana e vi alleva i suoi piccoli, allarga all'intorno la tana e all'ombra di lei li ristora, là si radunano gli avvoltoi, l'uno accanto all'altro.
16 Search in Yahweh's book, and read, not one of these will be missing, not one of them lacking a mate;for thus his mouth has ordained it, and his spirit has brought them together.	16 Cercate con diligenza nel libro del Signore, e leggete: di queste cose non ne manca una, e l'una non è senza l'altra; perchè ciò che esce dalla mia bocca lo comanda lui, e il suo stesso spirito raduna le cose.
17 He has thrown the lot for each, his hand has measured out their share; they wil possess it for ever,and live there age after age.	17 E' lui stesso che getta per essi la sorte, la sua mano la divide loro a misura, essi la possederanno in eterno, vi abiteranno per tutte le generazioni.
