| 2 Jefté les respondió: «Teníamos un gran conflicto mi pueblo y yo con los ammonitas; os pedí ayuda y no me librasteis de sus manos. | 2 And Jephthah said to them, "I and my people had a great feud with the Ammonites; and when I called you, you did not deliver me from their hand. |
| 3 Cuando vi que nadie venía a ayudarme, arriesgué la vida, marché contra los ammonitas y Yahveh los entregó en mis manos. ¿Por qué, pues, habéis subido hoy contra mí para hacerme la guerra?» | 3 And when I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hand, and crossed over against the Ammonites, and the LORD gave them into my hand; why then have you come up to me this day, to fight against me?" |
| 4 Entonces Jefté reunió a todos los hombres de Galaad y atacó a Efraím, los de Galaad derrotaron a los de Efraím, porque éstos decían: «vosotros los galaaditas sois fugitivos de Efraím, en medio de Efraím, en medio de Manasés». | 4 Then Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead and fought with Ephraim; and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, "You are fugitives of Ephraim, you Gileadites, in the midst of Ephraim and Manasseh." |
