1 Corintios 6

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Cuando alguno de vosotros tiene un pleito con otro, ¿se atreve a llevar la causa ante los injustos, y no ante los santos?	1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?
2 ¿No sabéis que los santos han de juzgar al mundo? Y si vosotros vais a juzgar al mundo, ¿no sois acaso dignos de juzgar esas naderías?	2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?
3 ¿No sabéis que hemos de juzgar a los ángeles? Y ¡cómo no las cosas de esta vida!	3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.
4 Y cuando tenéis pleitos de este género ¡tomáis como jueces a los que la Iglesia tiene en nada!	4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!
5 Para vuestra vergüenza lo digo. ¿No hay entre vosotros algún sabio que pueda juzgar entre los hermanos?	5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,
6 Sino que vais a pleitear hermano contra hermano, ¡y eso, ante infieles!	6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
7 De todos modos, ya es un fallo en vosotros que haya pleitos entre vosotros. ¿Por qué no preferís soportar la injusticia? ¿Por qué no dejaros más bien despojar?	7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?
8 ¡Al contrario! ¡Sois vosotros los que obráis la injusticia y despojáis a los demás! ¡Y esto, a hermanos!	8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.
9 ¿No sabéis acaso que los injustos no heredarán el Reino de Dios? ¡No os engañéis! Ni los impuros, ni los idólatras, ni los adúlteros, ni los afeminados, ni los homosexuales,	9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 ni los ladrones, ni los avaros, ni los borrachos, ni los ultrajadores, ni los rapaces heredarán el Reino de Dios.	10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.
11 Y tales fuisteis algunos de vosotros. Pero habéis sido lavados, habéis sido santificados, habéis sido justificados en el nombre del Señor Jesucristo y en el Espíritu de nuestro Dios.	11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.
12 «Todo me es lícito»; mas no todo me conviene. «Todo me es lícito»; mas ¡no me dejaré dominar por nada!	12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.
13 La comida para el vientre y el vientre para la comida. Mas lo uno y lo otro destruirá Dios. Pero el cuerpo no es para la fornicación, sino para el Señor, y el Señor para el cuerpo.	13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;
14 Y Dios, que resucitó al Señor, nos resucitará también a nosotros mediante su poder.	14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.
15 ¿No sabéis que vuestros cuerpos son miembros de Cristo? Y ¿había de tomar yo los miembros de Cristo para hacerlos miembros de prostituta? ¡De ningún modo!	15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!
16 ¿O no sabéis que quien se une a la prostituta se hace un solo cuerpo con ella? Pues está dicho: Los dos se harán una sola carne.	16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.
17 Mas el que se une al Señor, se hace un solo espíritu con él.	17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
18 ¡Huid de la fornicación! Todo pecado que comete el hombre queda fuera de su cuerpo; mas el que fornica, peca contra su propio cuerpo.	18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 ¿O no sabéis que vuestro cuerpo es santuario del Espíritu Santo, que está en vosotros y habéis recibido de Dios, y que no os pertenecéis?	19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?
20 ¡Habéis sido bien comprados! Glorificad, por tanto, a Dios en vuestro cuerpo.	20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.
