1 Los jefes de familia del clan de los hijos de Galaad, hijo de Makir, hijo de Manasés, uno de los clanes de los hijos de José, se presentaron y dijeron delante de Moisés y de los principales jefes de las casas paternas de los israelitas:	1 And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:
2 «Yahveh mandó a mi Señor que diera la tierra en herencia, por suertes, a los israelitas, y mi Señor recibió orden de Yahveh de dar la herencia de Selofjad, nuestro hermano, a sus hijas.	2 And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
3 Si resulta que se casan con alguno de otra tribu israelita, será arrancada su parte de la herencia de nuestras familias. Aumentará entonces la herencia de la tribu a la que vayan a pertenecer, y se reducirá la herencia que nos tocó en suerte.	3 And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
4 Y cuando llegue el jubileo para los israelitas, se añadirá la herencia de ellas a la herencia de la tribu a la que vayan a pertenecer y se restará su herencia de la herencia de la tribu de nuestros padres.»	4 And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
5 Moisés, según la orden de Yahveh, mandó lo siguiente a los israelitas: «Dice bien la tribu de los hijos de José.	5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
6 Esto es lo que Yahveh ordenó acerca de las hijas de Selofjad: Tomarán por esposos a los que bien les parezca, con tal que se casen dentro de los clanes de la tribu de su padre.	6 This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
7 La herencia de los israelitas no podrá pasar de una tribu a otra, sino que los israelitas estarán vinculados cada uno a la herencia de la tribu de sus padres.	7 So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 Y toda hija que posea una herencia en una de las tribus de los israelitas se casará con uno de un clan de la tribu de su padre para que cada uno de los israelitas posea la herencia de sus padres.	8 And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
9 No podrá pasar una herencia de una tribu a otra. Cada una de las tribus de los israelitas quedará vinculada a su heredad.»	9 Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.
10 Tal como había mandado Yahveh a Moisés, así hicieron las hijas de Selofjad.	10 Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:
11 Majlá, Tirsá, Joglá, Milká y Noá, las hijas de Selofjad, se casaron con los hijos de sus tíos paternos.	11 For Mahlal, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father's brothers' sons:
12 Tomaron marido de los clanes de los hijos de Manasés, hijo de José, y así su herencia fue para la tribu del clan de su padre.	12 And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
13 Estas son las órdenes y normas que dio Yahveh, por medio de Moisés, a los israelitas, en las Estepas de Moab, cerca del Jordán, a la altura de Jericó.	13 These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
