Judges 10

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 After Abimelech, Tola son of Puah, son of Dodo, rose to deliver Israel. He belonged to Issachar andlived at Shamir in the mountain country of Ephraim.	1 Después de Abimélec, surgió Tolá, hijo de Puá, hijo de Dodó, para salvar a Israel. Era de Isacar, pero vivía en Samir, en la montaña de Efraím.
2 He was judge in Israel for twenty-three years; he then died and was buried at Shamir.	2 El juzgó a Israel durante veintitrés años. Cuando murió, fue sepultado en Samir.
3 After him rose Jair of Gilead, who judged Israel for twenty-two years.	3 Después de él, surgió Iaír, de Galaad. /El Juzgó a Israel durante veintidós años.
4 He had thirty sons who rode on thirty young donkeys and who owned thirty towns, stil known today asthe Encampments of Jair, in the territory of Gilead.	4 Tenía treinta hijos, que iban montados en treinta asnos y tenían treinta ciudades. Estas últimas se llaman todavía hoy los Poblados de Iaír, y se encuentran en el territorio de Galaad.
5 Jair then died and was buried at Kamon.	5 Cuando murió Iaír, lo sepultaron en Camón.
6 The Israelites again began doing what is evil in Yahweh's eyes. They served Baal and Astarte, and thegods of Aram and Sidon, the gods of Moab and those of the Ammonites and Philistines. 8 who from that year onwards crushed and oppressed the Israelites for eighteen years -- all thoseIsraelites living on the other side of the Jordan in Amorite territory, in Gilead.	8 A partir de ese momento, los amonitas oprimieron duramente a los israelitas que vivían al otro lado del Jordán, en el país de los amorreos de Galaad. La opresión duró dieciocho años.
9 Furthermore, the Ammonites would cross the Jordan and also make war on Judah, Benjamin and theHouse of Ephraim, so that Israel was in distress.	9 Además, los amonitas cruzaron el Jordán para atacar también a Judá, a Benjamín y a la casa de Efraím. Israel se encontró así en un grave aprieto.
10 The Israelites then cried to Yahweh and said, 'We have sinned against you, because we have turnedfrom Yahweh our God to serve Baals.'	10 Entonces los israelitas clamaron al Señor, diciendo: «Hemos pecado contra ti, nuestro Dios, porque te hemos abandonado para servir a los Baales».
11 And Yahweh said to the Israelites, 'When Egyptians and Amorites, Ammonites and Philistines,	11 Y el Señor dijo a los israelitas: «Cuando los oprimieron los egipcios, los amorreos, los amonitas, los filisteos,
12 when the Sidonians, Amalek and Midian oppressed you and you cried to me, did I not rescue youfrom their power?	12 los sidonios, los amalecitas y los madianitas, ustedes clamaron hacia mí, y yo los salvé de su poder.
13 But it is you who have forsaken me and served other gods; and so I shall rescue you no more.	13 A pesar de eso, ustedes me abandonaron y sirvieron a otros dioses. Por eso, no volverá a salvarlos.
14 Go and cry to the gods whom you have chosen. Let them rescue you in your time of trouble.'	14 Vayan a invocar a los dioses que ustedes se han elegido: que ellos los salven en el momento del peligro».
15 The Israelites replied to Yahweh, 'We have sinned. Treat us as you see fit, but please rescue ustoday.'	15 Los israelitas respondieron al Señor: «Hemos pecado. Trátanos como quieras, pero por favor, sálvanos en este día».
16 They got rid of their foreign gods and served Yahweh, who could bear Israel's suffering no longer.	16 Ellos hicieron desaparecer a los dioses extraños y sirvieron al Señor. Y el Señor no pudo soportar por más tiempo el sufrimiento de Israel.
17 The Ammonites gathered and pitched camp in Gilead. The Israelites ral ied and pitched camp atMizpah.	17 Los amonitas se concentraron y fueron a acampar en Galaad. También se reunieron los israelitas y pusieron su campamento en Mispá.
18 The people, the chieftains of Gilead, then said to one another, 'Who wil volunteer to attack theAmmonites? He shall be chief of al who live in Gilead!'	18 Entonces el pueblo y los jefes de Galaad se dijeron unos a otros: «¿Quién es el hombre que dirigirá el combate contra los amonitas? El quedará al frente de todos los habitantes de Galaad».
