1 John 4

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 My dear friends, not every spirit is to be trusted, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,for many false prophets are at large in the world.	1 Liebe Brüder, traut nicht jedem Geist, sondern prüft die Geister, ob sie aus Gott sind; denn viele falsche Propheten sind in die Welt hinausgezogen.
2 This is the proof of the spirit of God: any spirit which acknowledges Jesus Christ, come in humannature, is from God,	2 Daran erkennt ihr den Geist Gottes: Jeder Geist, der bekennt, Jesus Christus sei im Fleisch gekommen, ist aus Gott.
3 and no spirit which fails to acknowledge Jesus is from God; it is the spirit of Antichrist, whose comingyou have heard of; he is already at large in the world.	3 Und jeder Geist, der Jesus nicht bekennt, ist nicht aus Gott. Das ist der Geist des Antichrists, über den ihr gehört habt, dass er kommt. Jetzt ist er schon in der Welt.
4 Children, you are from God and have overcome them, because he who is in you is greater than he whois in the world.	4 Ihr aber, meine Kinder, seid aus Gott und habt sie besiegt; denn Er, der in euch ist, ist größer als jener, der in der Welt ist.
5 They are from the world, and therefore the world inspires what they say, and listens to them.	5 Sie sind aus der Welt; deshalb sprechen sie, wie die Welt spricht, und die Welt hört auf sie.
6 We are from God; whoever recognises God listens to us; anyone who is not from God refuses to listento us. This is how we can distinguish the spirit of truth from the spirit of falsehood.	6 Wir aber sind aus Gott. Wer Gott erkennt, hört auf uns; wer nicht aus Gott ist, hört nicht auf uns. Daran erkennen wir den Geist der Wahrheit und den Geist des Irrtums.
7 My dear friends, let us love one another, since love is from God and everyone who loves is a child ofGod and knows God.	7 Liebe Brüder, wir wollen einander lieben; denn die Liebe ist aus Gott und jeder, der liebt, stammt von Gott und erkennt Gott.
8 Whoever fails to love does not know God, because God is love.	8 Wer nicht liebt, hat Gott nicht erkannt; denn Gott ist die Liebe.
9 This is the revelation of God's love for us, that God sent his only Son into the world that we might havelife through him.	9 Die Liebe Gottes wurde unter uns dadurch offenbart, dass Gott seinen einzigen Sohn in die Welt gesandt hat, damit wir durch ihn leben.
10 Love consists in this: it is not we who loved God, but God loved us and sent his Son to expiate oursins.	10 Nicht darin besteht die Liebe, dass wir Gott geliebt haben, sondern dass er uns geliebt und seinen Sohn als Sühne für unsere Sünden gesandt hat.
11 My dear friends, if God loved us so much, we too should love one another.	11 Liebe Brüder, wenn Gott uns so geliebt hat, müssen auch wir einander lieben.
12 No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another God remains in us and his love comesto its perfection in us.	12 Niemand hat Gott je geschaut; wenn wir einander lieben, bleibt Gott in uns und seine Liebe ist in uns vollendet.
13 This is the proof that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us a share in his Spirit.	13 Daran erkennen wir, dass wir in ihm bleiben und er in uns bleibt: Er hat uns von seinem Geist gegeben.
14 We ourselves have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as Saviour of the world.	14 Wir haben gesehen und bezeugen, dass der Vater den Sohn gesandt hat als den Retter der Welt.
15 Anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God.	15 Wer bekennt, dass Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist, in dem bleibt Gott und er bleibt in Gott.
16 We have recognised for ourselves, and put our faith in, the love God has for us. God is love, andwhoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.	16 aWir haben die Liebe, die Gott zu uns hat, erkannt und gläubig angenommen. Gott ist die Liebe, und wer in der Liebe bleibt, bleibt in Gott und Gott bleibt in ihm.
17 Love comes to its perfection in us when we can face the Day of Judgement fearlessly, because evenin this world we have become as he is.	17 Darin ist unter uns die Liebe vollendet, dass wir am Tag des Gerichts Zuversicht haben. Denn wie er, so sind auch wir in dieser Welt.
18 In love there is no room for fear, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment andno one who is afraid has come to perfection in love.	18 Furcht gibt es in der Liebe nicht, sondern die vollkommene Liebe vertreibt die Furcht. Denn die Furcht rechnet mit Strafe(,) und wer sich fürchtet, dessen Liebe ist nicht vollendet.
19 Let us love, then, because he first loved us.	19 Wir wollen lieben, weil er uns zuerst geliebt hat.
20 Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brotherwhom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen.	20 Wenn jemand sagt: Ich liebe Gott!, aber seinen Bruder hasst, ist er ein Lügner. Denn wer seinen Bruder nicht liebt, den er sieht, kann Gott nicht lieben, den er nicht sieht.
21 Indeed this is the commandment we have received from him, that whoever loves God, must also lovehis brother.	21 Und dieses Gebot haben wir von ihm: Wer Gott liebt, soll auch seinen Bruder lieben.
