NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
Something which has existed since the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with ourown eyes, which we have watched and touched with our own hands, the Word of life -- this is our theme.1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
That life was made visible; we saw it and are giving our testimony, declaring to you the eternal life,which was present to the Father and has been revealed to us.2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
We are declaring to you what we have seen and heard, so that you too may share our life. Our life isshared with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
We are writing this to you so that our joy may be complete.4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
This is what we have heard from him and are declaring to you: God is light, and there is no darkness inhim at al .5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we share in God's life while we are living in darkness, we are lying, because we are notliving the truth.6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we live in light, as he is in light, we have a share in another's life, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,cleanses us from all sin.7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say, 'We have no sin,' we are deceiving ourselves, and truth has no place in us;8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
if we acknowledge our sins, he is trustworthy and upright, so that he will forgive our sins and wilcleanse us from all evil.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say, 'We have never sinned,' we make him a liar, and his word has no place in us.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
