Hebrews 8

1 The principal point of al that we have said is that we have a high priest of exactly this kind. He hastaken his seat at the right of the throne of divine Majesty in the heavens,	1 or il punto capitale di quanto diciamo è che noi abbiamo un tal pontefice il quale siede alla destra del trono della Maestà nei cieli,
2 and he is the minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tent which the Lord, and not any man, set up.	2 qual ministro del santuario e del vero tabernacolo eretto dal Signore, e non dall'uomo.
3 Every high priest is constituted to offer gifts and sacrifices, and so this one too must have something tooffer.	3 Ma ogni pontefice è destinato ad offrir doni e vittime; bisogna dunque che anche lui abbia qualche cosa da offrire.
4 In fact, if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at al , since there are others who make theofferings laid down by the Law,	4 Or se egli fosse sopra la terra, non sarebbe nemmen sacerdote, finché restano quelli che offrono doni secondo la legge,
5 though these maintain the service only of a model or a reflection of the heavenly realities; just asMoses, when he had the Tent to build, was warned by God who said: See that you work to the design that wasshown you on the mountain.	5 i quali non servono che a dar la copia e l'ombra delle cose celesti, come fu detto a Mosè quando stava per compire il tabernacolo: Bada - disse - di non fare tutto secondo il modello che ti è stato fatto vedere sul monte.
6 As it is, he has been given a ministry as far superior as is the covenant of which he is the mediator,which is founded on better promises.	6 Ma ora Cristo ha avuto un ministero più eccellente in quanto è mediatore di migliore alleanza, basata su migliori promesse.
7 If that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no room for a second one to replace it.	7 Ma se quella prima alleanza fosse stata senza difetto non si sarebbe cercato di sostituirla con una seconda;
8 And in fact God does find fault with them; he says: Look, the days are coming, the Lord declares, whenI will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah,	8 invece biasimandola dice: « Ecco verranno i giorni, dice il Signore, nei quali stringerò colla casa d'Israele e colla casa di Giuda una nuova alleanza,
9 but not a covenant like the one I made with their ancestors, the day I took them by the hand to bringthem out of Egypt, which covenant of mine they broke, and I too abandoned them, the Lord declares.	9 non un'alleanza come quella che feci coi loro padri, nel giorni in cui li presi per mano per trarli fuori dalla terra d'Egitto; perché essi non rimasero fedeli alla mia alleanza e non mi sono più curato di loro, dice il Signore.
10 No, this is the covenant I wil make with the House of Israel, when those days have come, the Lorddeclares: In their minds I shal plant my laws writing them on their hearts. Then I shall be their God, and theyshall be my people.	10 E questa è l'alleanza che stringerò colla casa d'Israele dopo quei giorni, dice il Signore: porrò le mie leggi nella loro mente e le scriverò sui loro cuori; e sarò il loro Dio ed essi saranno il mio popolo:
11 There wil be no further need for each to teach his neighbour, and each his brother, saying 'Learn toknow the Lord!' No, they will al know me, from the least to the greatest,	11 e non ci sarà bisogno che ciascuno istruisca il suo prossimo o con il suo fratello col dire: Riconosci il Signore; perchè tutti dal più piccolo al più grande di loro, mi conosceranno.
12 since I shall forgive their guilt and never more call their sins to mind.	12 Io perdonerò più dei loro peccati.
13 By speaking of a new covenant, he implies that the first one is old. And anything old and ageing isready to disappear.	13 Ma dicendo « nuova » dichiarò antica la prima. Or ciò che è antiquato e vecchio, è vicino a sparire.
