Hebrews 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 The principal point of al that we have said is that we have a high priest of exactly this kind. He hastaken his seat at the right of the throne of divine Majesty in the heavens,	1 Este es el punto capital de cuanto venimos diciendo, que tenemos un Sumo Sacerdote tal, que se sentó a la diestra del trono de la Majestad en los cielos,
2 and he is the minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tent which the Lord, and not any man, set up.	2 al servicio del santuario y de la Tienda verdadera, erigida por el Señor, no por un hombre.
3 Every high priest is constituted to offer gifts and sacrifices, and so this one too must have something tooffer.	3 Porque todo Sumo Sacerdote está instituido para ofrecer dones y sacrificios: de ahí que necesariamente también él tuviera que ofrecer algo.
4 In fact, if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at al , since there are others who make theofferings laid down by the Law,	4 Pues si estuviera en la tierra, ni siquiera sería sacerdote, habiendo ya quienes ofrezcan dones según la Ley.
5 though these maintain the service only of a model or a reflection of the heavenly realities; just asMoses, when he had the Tent to build, was warned by God who said: See that you work to the design that wasshown you on the mountain.	5 Estos dan culto en lo que es sombra y figura de realidades celestiales, según le fue revelado a Moisés al emprender la construcción de la Tienda. Pues dice: Mira, harás todo conforme al modelo que te ha sido mostrado en el monte.
6 As it is, he has been given a ministry as far superior as is the covenant of which he is the mediator,which is founded on better promises.	6 Mas ahora ha obtenido él un ministerio tanto mejor cuanto es Mediador de una mejor Alianza, como fundada en promesas mejores.
7 If that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no room for a second one to replace it.	7 Pues si aquella primera fuera irreprochable, no habría lugar para una segunda.
8 And in fact God does find fault with them; he says: Look, the days are coming, the Lord declares, whenI will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah,	8 Porque les dice en tono de reproche: He aquí que días vienen, dice el Señor, y concertaré con la casa de Israel y con la casa de Judá una nueva Alianza,
9 but not a covenant like the one I made with their ancestors, the day I took them by the hand to bringthem out of Egypt, which covenant of mine they broke, and I too abandoned them, the Lord declares.	9 no como la Alianza que hice con sus padres el día en que los tomé de la mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto. Como ellos no permanecieron fieles a mi Alianza, también yo me desentendí de ellos, dice el Señor.
10 No, this is the covenant I wil make with the House of Israel, when those days have come, the Lorddeclares: In their minds I shal plant my laws writing them on their hearts. Then I shall be their God, and theyshall be my people.	10 Esta es la Alianza que pactaré con la casa de Israel después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Pondré mis leyes en su mente, en sus corazones las grabaré; y yo seré su Dios y ellos serán mi pueblo.
11 There wil be no further need for each to teach his neighbour, and each his brother, saying 'Learn toknow the Lord!' No, they will al know me, from the least to the greatest,	11 Y no habrá de instruir cada cual a su conciudadano ni cada uno a su hermano diciendo: «¡Conoce al Señor!», pues todos me conocerán, desde el menor hasta el mayor de ellos.
12 since I shall forgive their guilt and never more call their sins to mind.	12 Porque me apiadaré de sus iniquidades y de sus pecados no me acordaré ya.
13 By speaking of a new covenant, he implies that the first one is old. And anything old and ageing isready to disappear.	13 Al decir nueva, declaró anticuada la primera; y lo anticuado y viejo está a punto de cesar.
