1 We ought, then, to turn our minds more attentively than before to what we have been taught, so that wedo not drift away.	1 Fa perciò di mestieri, che noi tanto maggior attenzione prestiamo alle cose udite, affinchè per disgrazia non ci perdiamo.
2 If a message that was spoken through angels proved to be so reliable that every infringement anddisobedience brought its own proper punishment,	2 Imperocché se la parola pronunziata dagli Angeli fu stabile, e qualunque prevaricazione, e disubbidienza ricevè la giusta retribuzione della mercede:
3 then we shal certainly not go unpunished if we neglect such a great salvation. It was first announced bythe Lord himself, and is guaranteed to us by those who heard him;	3 Come averemo noi scampo, se poco conto faremo di una salute si grande? La quale principiato avendo ad essere annunziata dal Signore, è stata a noi confermata da quegli, che l'avevano udito,
4 God himself confirmed their witness with signs and marvels and miracles of al kinds, and bydistributing the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the various ways he wil s.	4 Concorrendo con la loro testimonianza quella di Dio per mezzo dei segni, e de' prodigj, e de varj miracoli, e de doni dello Spirito santo distribuiti secondo la sua volontà.
5 It was not under angels that he put the world to come, about which we are speaking.	5 Imperocché non agli Angeli assoggettò Dio il mondo futuro, di cui parliamo.
6 Someone witnesses to this somewhere with the words: What are human beings that you spare athought for them, a child of Adam that you care for him?	6 Or uno protestò in certo luogo, dicendo: che è l'uomo, che tu di lui ti risovvenga, od il figliuolo dell'uomo, che tu vada a visitarlo?
7 For a short while you have made him less than the angels; you have crowned him with glory andhonour,	7 Lo hai fatto per alcun poco inferiore agli Angeli: lo hai coronato di gloria, e di onore: e lo hai costituito sopra le opere delle tue mani.
8 put al things under his feet. For in putting al things under him he made no exceptions. At present, it istrue, we are not able to see that all things are under him,	8 Le cose tutte hai tu soggettate ai piedi di lui. Or quando egli ha soggettate a lui tutte le cose, nulla cosa ha lasciato a lui non soggetta. Adesso però non veggiamo ancora soggette a lui tutte le cose.
9 but we do see Jesus, who was for a short while made less than the angels, now crowned with glory andhonour because he submitted to death; so that by God's grace his experience of death should benefit allhumanity.	9 Ma quel Gesù, che per alcun poco fu fatto inferiore agli Angeli per la passione della morte lo veggiamo coronato di gloria, e di onore: onde per grazia di Dio gustasse per tutti la morte.
10 It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should, in bringing many sons toglory, make perfect through suffering the leader of their salvation.	10 Imperocché era conveniente, che quegli, per cui (sono) tutte le cose, e per opera di cui (son) tutte le cose, il quale molti figliuoli avea condotti alla gloria, perfezionasse per via de' patimenti il condottiere della loro salute.
11 For consecrator and consecrated are al of the same stock; that is why he is not ashamed to call thembrothers	11 Imperocché e il santificatore, e i santificati (son) tutti da una sola cosa. Per lo che non ha rossore di chiamargli fratelli, dicendo:
12 in the text: I shal proclaim your name to my brothers, praise you in full assembly; or in the text:	12 Annunzierò il nome tuo ai miei fratelli: canterò laude a te in mezzo alla Chiesa.
13 I shal put my hope in him; fol owed by Look, I and the children whom God has given me.	13 E di nuovo: io mi affiderò a lui. E di nuovo: eccomi, io, e i miei figliuoli, che Dio mi ha dati.
14 Since al the children share the same human nature, he too shared equal y in it, so that by his deathhe could set aside him who held the power of death, namely the devil,	14 Perché adunque i figliuoli hanno comune la carne, ed il sangue, egli pure partecipò similmente alle medesime cose: affin di distruggere, morendo, colui, che avea della morte l'impero, cioè il diavolo:
15 and set free al those who had been held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.	15 E affin di liberare coloro, i quali pel timor della morte stavano in ischiavitù per tutta quanta la vita.
16 For it was not the angels that he took to himself; he took to himself the line of Abraham.	16 Imperocché in nessun luogo assunse gli Angeli, ma assunse il seme d'Abramo.
17 It was essential that he should in this way be made completely like his brothers so that he couldbecome a compassionate and trustworthy high priest for their relationship to God, able to expiate the sins of thepeople.	17 Laonde egli dovette essere totalmente simile ai fratelli, affinchè pontefice divenisse misericordioso, e fedele presso Dio, affinchè espiasse i peccati del popolo.
18 For the suffering he himself passed through while being put to the test enables him to help otherswhen they are being put to the test.	18 Imperocché dall'aver egli patito, ed essere stato tentato, egli può altresì porger soccorso a coloro, che sono tentati.
