Ephesians 3

1 It is because of this that I, Paul, a prisoner of the Lord Jesus on behalf of you gentiles. . .	1 Ecco perchè io Paolo sono prigioniero di Cristo per voi Gentili.
2 You have surely heard the way in which God entrusted me with the grace he gave me for your sake;	2 Certamente siete stati informati del ministero che la gra­zia di Dio mi ha affidato per voi,
3 he made known to me by a revelation the mystery I have just described briefly-	3 come per rivelazione mi fu notificato questo mistero, come sopra vi ho esposto brevemente,
4 a reading of it wil enable you to perceive my understanding of the mystery of Christ.	4 ma in modo che leggendo possiate intendere la conoscenza che ho del mistero di Cristo.
5 This mystery, as it is now revealed in the Spirit to his holy apostles and prophets, was unknown tohumanity in previous generations:	5 Il qual mistero nelle età passate non fu conosciuto dai figlioli degli uomini nella maniera che ora è stata rivelata dallo Spirito ai santi apostoli di Cristo ed ai profeti:
6 that the gentiles now have the same inheritance and form the same Body and enjoy the same promisein Christ Jesus through the gospel.	6 che cioè i Gentili sono coeredi con noi e parte dello stesso corpo, e partecipano con noi alla promessa di Dio in Cristo Gesù mediante il Vangelo,
7 I have been made the servant of that gospel by a gift of grace from God who gave it to me by theworkings of his power.	7 del quale io sono stato fatto ministro per dono della grazia di Dio, che m'è stata largita secondo l'efficacia della potenza di lui.
8 I, who am less than the least of all God's holy people, have been entrusted with this special grace, ofproclaiming to the gentiles the unfathomable treasure of Christ	8 A me, il minimo dei santi, è stata concessa questa grazia di evangelizzare tra i Gentili le incomprensibili ricchezze di Cristo,
9 and of throwing light on the inner workings of the mystery kept hidden through al the ages in God, theCreator of everything.	9 e di illuminare tutti riguardo all'attuazione del mistero asceso da secoli in Dio, il quale ha creato ogni cosa,
10 The purpose of this was, that now, through the Church, the principalities and ruling forces should learnhow many-sided God's wisdom is,	10 affinchè dai principati e dalle potestà sia conosciuta per mezzo della Chiesa la multiforme sapienza di Dio,
11 according to the plan which he had formed from al eternity in Christ Jesus our Lord.	11 secondo il disegno eterno che egli ha mandato ad effetto per mezzo di Cristo Gesù Signor nostro,
12 In him we are bold enough to approach God in complete confidence, through our faith in him;	12 in cui abbiamo la fiducia di poterci avvicinare con tutta con­ fidenza a Dio per mezzo della fede in lui.
13 so, I beg you, do not let the hardships I go through on your account make you waver; they are yourglory.	13 Quindi vi chiedo di non perdervi d'animo a motivo delle tribolazioni ch'io soffro per voi e che sono la vostra gloria.
14 This, then, is what I pray, kneeling before the Father,	14 A questo fine piego le mie ginocchia dinanzi al Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo,
15 from whom every fatherhood, in heaven or on earth, takes its name.	15 da cui ogni famiglia e nei cieli e sulla terra prende nome,
16 In the abundance of his glory may he, through his Spirit, enable you to grow firm in power with regardto your inner self,	16 perché vi conceda, secondo le ricchezze della sua gloria, di essere mediante lo Spirito a lui potentemente corroborati nell'uomo interio­re,
17 so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love,	17 in modo che Cristo abiti per la fede nei vostri cuori, e voi, radicati nella fede, fondati nella carità,
18 with al God's holy people you wil have the strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the heightand the depth;	18 possiate, con tutti i santi, comprendere quale sia la larghezza, la lunghezza, l'altezza e la profondità,
19 so that, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond knowledge, you may be fil ed with the utterful ness of God.	19 anzi possiate conoscere ciò che supera ogni scienza, la stessa carità di Cristo, in modo che siate ripieni di tutta la pienezza di Dio.
20 Glory be to him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine;	20 A lui, che può fare ogni cosa al di là di quanto possiamo domandare o pensare, mediante la virtù che opera in noi,
21 glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever.Amen.	21 a lui sia gloria nella Chiesa e in Cristo Gesù per tutto le generazioni di tutti i secoli. Così sia.
