1 Corinthians 5

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 It is widely reported that there is sexual immorality among you, immorality of a kind that is not foundeven among gentiles: that one of you is living with his stepmother.	1 Es cosa pública que se cometen entre ustedes actos deshonestos, como no se encuentran ni siquiera entre los paganos, ¡a tal extremo que uno convive con la mujer de su padre!
2 And you so fil ed with your own self-importance! It would have been better if you had been grievingbitterly, so that the man who has done this thing were turned out of the community.	2 ¡Y todavía se enorgullecen, en lugar de estar de duelo para que se expulse al que cometió esa acción!
3 For my part, however distant I am physical y, I am present in spirit and have already condemned theman who behaved in this way, just as though I were present in person.	3 En lo que a mí respecta, estando ausente con el cuerpo pero presente con el espíritu, ya lo he juzgado, como si yo mismo estuviera allí.
4 When you have gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, with the presence of my spirit, and inthe power of our Lord Jesus,	4 Es necesario que ustedes y yo nos reunamos espiritualmente, en el nombre y con el poder de nuestro Señor Jesús,
5 hand such a man over to Satan, to be destroyed as far as natural life is concerned, so that on the Dayof the Lord his spirit may be saved.	5 para que este hombre sea entregado a Satanás: así se perderá su carne, pero se salvará su espíritu en el Día del Señor.
6 Your self-satisfaction is il founded. Do you not realise that only a little yeast leavens the whole batch ofdough?	6 ¡No es como para gloriarse! ¿No saben que «un poco de levadura hace fermentar toda la masa»?
7 Throw out the old yeast so that you can be the fresh dough, unleavened as you are. For our Passoverhas been sacrificed, that is, Christ;	7 Despójense de la vieja levadura, para ser una nueva masa, ya que ustedes mismos son como el pan sin levadura. Porque Cristo, nuestra Pascua, ha sido inmolado.
8 let us keep the feast, then, with none of the old yeast and no leavening of evil and wickedness, but onlythe unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.	8 Celebremos, entonces, nuestra Pascua, no con la vieja levadura de la malicia y la perversidad, sino con los panes sin levadura de la pureza y la verdad.
9 In my letter, I wrote to you that you should have nothing to do with people living immoral lives.	9 En una carta anterior, les advertí que no se mezclaran con los deshonestos.
10 I was not including everybody in this present world who is sexually immoral, or everybody who isgreedy, or dishonest or worships false gods -- that would mean you would have to cut yourselves off completelyfrom the world.	10 No quiero decir que se aparten por completo de los deshonestos de este mundo, de los avaros, de los ladrones y de los idólatras: de ser así, tendrían que abandonar este mundo.
11 In fact what I meant was that you were not to have anything to do with anyone going by the name ofbrother who is sexual y immoral, or is greedy, or worships false gods, or is a slanderer or a drunkard ordishonest; never even have a meal with anybody of that kind.	11 Lo que quise decirles es que se no mezclen con aquellos que, diciéndose hermanos, son deshonestos, avaros, idólatras, difamadores, bebedores o ladrones: les aconsejo que ni siquiera coman con ellos.
12 It is no concern of mine to judge outsiders. It is for you to judge those who are inside, is it not?	12 No es asunto mío juzgar a los que están fuera de la Iglesia. Ustedes juzguen a los que están dentro;
13 But outsiders are for God to judge. You must banish this evil-doer from among you.	13 porque a los de afuera los juzga Dios. Expulsen al perverso de en medio de ustedes.
