1 Corinthians 3

1 And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people stilliving by your natural inclinations, stil infants in Christ;	1 Ed io, o fratelli, non potei parlare a voi come a spirituali; ma (dovetti parlare) come a carnali, come a dei bambini in Cristo.
2 I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it -- and even now, you are stilnot able to,	2 Vi detti del latte e non del cibo solido, perchè non ne eravate ancora capaci, e non ne siete capaci nemmeno ora, essendo ancora carnali.
3 for you are still living by your natural inclinations. As long as there are jealousy and rivalry among you,that surely means that you are stil living by your natural inclinations and by merely human principles.	3 Infatti, finché ci son tra voi gelosie e contese, non siete voi carnali e non camminate secondo l'uomo?
4 While there is one that says, 'I belong to Paul' and another that says, 'I belong to Apol os' are you notbeing only too human?	4 E quando arrivate a dire, uno: Io sono di Paolo, l'altro: Io sono d'Apollo, non siete forse degli uomini?
5 For what is Apollos and what is Paul? The servants through whom you came to believe, and each hasonly what the Lord has given him.	5 Son dei servitori di Colui al quale avete creduto, e secondo quanto a ciascuno di loro ha concesso il Signore.
6 I did the planting, Apol os did the watering, but God gave growth.	6 Io ho piantato, Apollo ha innaffiato, ma chi ha fatto crescere è Dio.
7 In this, neither the planter nor the waterer counts for anything; only God, who gives growth.	7 Pertanto, nè colui che pianta è qualche cosa, nè colui che innaffia; ma Dio che fa crescere;
8 It is al one who does the planting and who does the watering, and each will have the proper pay for thework that he has done.	8 e tra colui che pianta e colui che innaffia non c'è distinzione; ciascuno però avrà la propria ricompensa in proporzione della sua fatica.
9 After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.	9 Noi infatti siamo i collaboratori di Dio, e voi siete il campo di Dio, l'edificio di Dio.
10 By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, andsomeone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.	10 Secondo la grazia di Dio, che mi è stata concessa, io, da perito architetto, gettai il fondamento; altri poi vi fabbrica sopra; badi però ciascuno al come tira su la fabbrica,
11 For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely JesusChrist.	11 perchè nessuno può gettare altro fondamento che quello già posto, cioè Cristo Gesù.
12 On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw	12 Se si fabbrica su questo fondamento con oro, argento, pietre preziose, legno, fieno, paglia,
13 but each person's handiwork wil be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clearand the fire itself wil test the quality of each person's work.	13 apparirà qual sia l'opera di ciascuno, perchè il giorno del Signore la farà conoscere, dovendosi manifestare per mezzo del fuoco; e cosi il fuoco proverà qual sia l'opera di ciascuno.
14 The one whose work stands up to it wil be given his wages;	14 Se il lavoro che ciascuno ha fatto sul fondamento resterà, egli ne avrà ricompensa;
15 the one whose work is burnt down wil suffer the loss of it, though he himself will be saved; he wil besaved as someone might expect to be saved from a fire.	15 se invece piglierà fuoco, ne soffrirà il danno: sarà però salvo, ma come attraverso il fuoco.
16 Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?	16 Non sapete voi che siete tempio di Dio, e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi?
17 If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple isholy; and you are that temple.	17 Se alcuno violerà il tempio di Dio, Dio lo sperderà, perchè il tempio di Dio, che siete voi, è santo.
18 There is no room for self-delusion. Any one of you who thinks he is wise by worldly standards mustlearn to be a fool in order to be real y wise.	18 Nessuno s'illuda: se qualcuno tra di voi si tiene per sapiente in questo mondo, diventi stolto, per essere sapiente;
19 For the wisdom of the world is folly to God. As scripture says: He traps the crafty in the snare of theirown cunning	19 perchè la sapienza di questo mondo è stoltezza davanti a Dio, essendo scritto: Impiglierò i sapienti nelle loro astuzie:
20 and again: The Lord knows the plans of the wise and how insipid they are.	20 e ancora: Il Signore sa bene quanto son vani i pensieri dei sapienti.
21 So there is to be no boasting about human beings: everything belongs to you,	21 Nessuno dunque metta la sua gloria negli uomini;
22 whether it is Paul, or Apol os, or Cephas, the world, life or death, the present or the future -- al belongto you;	22 perchè tutto è vostro, e Paolo, e Apollo, e Cefa, e il mondo, e la vita, e la morte, e le cose presenti e le future: tutto è vostro;
23 but you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.	23 ma voi siete di Cristo, e Cristo è di Dio.
