1 Corinthians 3

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people stilliving by your natural inclinations, stil infants in Christ;	1 OR io, fratelli, non ho potuto parlare a voi, come a spirituali, anzi vi ho parlato come a carnali, come a fanciulli in Cristo.
2 I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it -- and even now, you are stilnot able to,	2 Io vi ho dato a bere del latte, e non vi ho dato del cibo, perciocchè voi non potevate ancora portarlo; anzi neppure ora potete, perchè siete carnali.
3 for you are still living by your natural inclinations. As long as there are jealousy and rivalry among you,that surely means that you are stil living by your natural inclinations and by merely human principles.	3 Imperocchè, poichè fra voi vi è invidia, e contenzione, e divisioni, non siete voi carnali, e non camminate voi secondo l’uomo?
4 While there is one that says, 'I belong to Paul' and another that says, 'I belong to Apol os' are you notbeing only too human?	4 Perciocchè, quando l’uno dice: Quant’è a me, io son di Paolo; e l’altro: Ed io d’Apollo; non siete voi carnali?
5 For what is Apollos and what is Paul? The servants through whom you came to believe, and each hasonly what the Lord has given him.	5 Chi è adunque Paolo? e chi è Apollo? se non ministri, per i quali voi avete creduto, e ciò secondo che il Signore ha dato a ciascuno?
6 I did the planting, Apol os did the watering, but God gave growth.	6 Io ho piantato, Apollo ha adacquato, ma Iddio ha fatto crescere.
7 In this, neither the planter nor the waterer counts for anything; only God, who gives growth.	7 Talchè, nè colui che pianta, nè colui che adacqua, non è nulla; ma non vi è altri che Iddio, il quale fa crescere.
8 It is al one who does the planting and who does the watering, and each will have the proper pay for thework that he has done.	8 Ora, e colui che pianta, e colui che adacqua, sono una medesima cosa; e ciascuno riceverà il suo proprio premio, secondo la sua fatica.
9 After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.	9 POICHÈ noi siamo operai nell’opera di Dio; voi siete il campo di Dio, l’edificio di Dio.
10 By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, andsomeone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.	10 Io, secondo la grazia di Dio che mi è stata data, come savio architetto, ho posto il fondamento, ed altri edifica sopra; ora ciascun riguardi come egli edifica sopra
11 For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely JesusChrist.	11 Perciocchè niuno può porre altro fondamento che quello ch’è stato posto, il quale è Gesù Cristo.
12 On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw	12 Ora, se alcuno edifica sopra questo fondamento oro, argento, pietre preziose, ovvero legno, fieno, stoppia,
13 but each person's handiwork wil be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clearand the fire itself wil test the quality of each person's work.	13 l’opera di ciascuno sarà manifestata; perciocchè il giorno la paleserà; poichè ha da esser manifestata per fuoco; e il fuoco farà la prova qual sia l’opera di ciascuno.
14 The one whose work stands up to it wil be given his wages;	14 Se l’opera d’alcuno, la quale egli abbia edificata sopra il fondamento, dimora, egli ne riceverà premio.
15 the one whose work is burnt down wil suffer the loss of it, though he himself will be saved; he wil besaved as someone might expect to be saved from a fire.	15 Se l’opera d’alcuno è arsa, egli farà perdita; ma egli sarà salvato, per modo però, che sarà come per fuoco
16 Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?	16 Non sapete voi che siete il tempio di Dio, e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi?
17 If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple isholy; and you are that temple.	17 Se alcuno guasta il tempio di Dio, Iddio guasterà lui; perciocchè il tempio del Signore è santo, il quale siete voi
18 There is no room for self-delusion. Any one of you who thinks he is wise by worldly standards mustlearn to be a fool in order to be real y wise.	18 Niuno inganni sè stesso; se alcuno fra voi si pensa esser savio in questo secolo, divenga pazzo, acciocchè diventi savio.
19 For the wisdom of the world is folly to God. As scripture says: He traps the crafty in the snare of theirown cunning	19 Perciocchè la sapienza di questo mondo è pazzia presso Iddio; poichè è scritto: Egli è quel che prende i savi nella loro astuzia.
20 and again: The Lord knows the plans of the wise and how insipid they are.	20 Ed altrove: Il Signore conosce i pensieri de’ savi, e sa che son vani
21 So there is to be no boasting about human beings: everything belongs to you,	21 Perciò, niuno si glorii negli uomini, perciocchè ogni cosa è vostra.
22 whether it is Paul, or Apol os, or Cephas, the world, life or death, the present or the future -- al belongto you;	22 E Paolo, ed Apollo, e Cefa, e il mondo, e la vita, e la morte, e le cose presenti, e le cose future; ogni cosa è vostra.
23 but you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.	23 E voi siete di Cristo, e Cristo è di Dio
