1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.	1 Anch'io, o fratelli, quando sono venuto tra voi, non mi sono presentato ad annunziarvi la testimonianza di Dio con sublimità di parola o di sapienza.
2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.	2 Mi ero proposto di non sapere altro in mezzo a voi che Gesù Cristo, e lui crocifisso.
3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling	3 E fui in mezzo a voi nella debolezza e con molto timore e tremore;
4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,	4 e la mia parola e il mio messaggio non ebbero discorsi persuasivi di sapienza, ma conferma di Spirito e di potenza,
5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.	5 affinché la vostra fede non si basi su una sapienza umana, ma sulla potenza di Dio.
6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.	6 Annunziamo, sì, una sapienza a quelli che sono perfetti, ma una sapienza non di questo mondo, né dei prìncipi di questo mondo che vengono annientati;
7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.	7 annunziamo una sapienza divina, avvolta nel mistero, che fu a lungo nascosta, e che Dio ha preordinato prima dei tempi per la nostra gloria.
8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;	8 Nessuno dei prìncipi di questo mondo l'ha conosciuta; se l'avessero conosciuta, non avrebbero crocifisso il Signore della gloria.
9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;	9 Sta scritto infatti: Cosa che occhio non vide, né orecchio udì, né mai entrò in cuore di uomo, ciò che Dio ha preparato per quelli che lo amano.
10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.	10 Ma a noi l'ha rivelato mediante lo Spirito; lo Spirito infatti scruta ogni cosa, anche le profondità di Dio.
11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.	11 Chi mai conobbe i segreti dell'uomo se non lo spirito dell'uomo che è in lui? Così pure i segreti di Dio nessuno li ha mai conosciuti se non lo Spirito di Dio.
12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.	12 E noi abbiamo ricevuto non lo spirito del mondo, ma lo Spirito che viene da Dio, per conoscere i doni che egli ci ha elargito.
13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.	13 E questi noi li annunziamo, non con insegnamenti di sapienza umana, ma con insegnamenti dello Spirito, esponendo cose spirituali a persone spirituali.
14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.	14 L'uomo naturale non comprende le cose dello Spirito di Dio; sono follìa per lui, e non è capace di intenderle, perché se ne giudica solo per mezzo dello Spirito.
15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.	15 L'uomo spirituale invece giudica ogni cosa, senza poter essere giudicato da nessuno.
16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.	16 Chi, infatti, conobbe la mente del Signore da poterlo dirigere? Ora noi abbiamo la mente di Cristo.
