1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.	1 Pues yo, hermanos, cuando fui a vosotros, no fui con el prestigio de la palabra o de la sabiduría a anunciaros el misterio de Dios,
2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.	2 pues no quise saber entre vosotros sino a Jesucristo, y éste crucificado.
3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling	3 Y me presenté ante vosotros débil, tímido y tembloroso.
4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,	4 Y mi palabra y mi predicación no tuvieron nada de los persuasivos discursos de la sabiduría, sino que fueron una demostración del Espíritu y del poder
5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.	5 para que vuestra fe se fundase, no en sabiduría de hombres, sino en el poder de Dios.
6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.	6 Sin embargo, hablamos de sabiduría entre los perfectos, pero no de sabiduría de este mundo ni de los príncipes de este mundo, abocados a la ruina;
7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.	7 sino que hablamos de una sabiduría de Dios, misteriosa, escondida, destinada por Dios desde antes de los siglos para gloria nuestra,
8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;	8 desconocida de todos los príncipes de este mundo - pues de haberla conocido no hubieran crucificado al Señor de la Gloria -.
9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;	9 Más bien, como dice la Escritura, anunciamos: lo que ni el ojo vio, ni el oído oyó, ni al corazón del hombre llegó, lo que Dios preparó para los que le aman.
10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.	10 Porque a nosotros nos lo reveló Dios por medio del Espíritu; y el Espíritu todo lo sondea, hasta las profundidades de Dios.
11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.	11 En efecto, ¿qué hombre conoce lo íntimo del hombre sino el espíritu del hombre que está en él? Del mismo modo, nadie conoce lo íntimo de Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios.
12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.	12 Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que viene de Dios, para conocer las gracias que Dios nos ha otorgado,
13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.	13 de las cuales también hablamos, no con palabras aprendidas de sabiduría humana, sino aprendidas del Espíritu, expresando realidades espirituales.
14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.	14 El hombre naturalmente no capta las cosas del Espíritu de Dios; son necedad para él. Y no las puede conocer pues sólo espiritualmente pueden ser juzgadas.
15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.	15 En cambio, el hombre de espíritu lo juzga todo; y a él nadie puede juzgarle.
16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.	16 Porque ¿quién conoció la mente del Señor para instruirle? Pero nosotros tenemos la mente de Cristo.
