1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.	1 - Anch'io quando venni presso di voi, o fratelli, non son venuto ad annunziare la testimonianza di Cristo con sublimità di ragionamento o di sapienza;
2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.	2 poichè non giudicai di saper alcuna cosa fra voi se non Gesù Cristo, e questo crocifisso.
3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling	3 Anch'io mi son trovato fra voi con un senso di debolezza, di timore e di grande trepidanza;
4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,	4 e il mio parlare e la mia predicazione non consisteva in persuasivi discorsi di umana sapienza, ma in dimostrazione di spirito e di virtù,
5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.	5 affinchè la vostra fede non si fondasse sulla umana sapienza, ma sulla virtù di Dio.
6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.	6 Di sapienza parliamo sì tra uomini perfetti, ma è sapienza non di questo secolo, la cui opera si riduce a nulla;
7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.	7 noi esponiamo la sapienza di Dio in mistero, la sapienza nascosta, che Dio preordinò avanti a tutti i secoli a gloria nostra,
8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;	8 e che nessuno dei principi di questo secolo ha conosciuto, perchè se l'avessero conosciuta non avrebbero crocifisso il Signore della gloria;
9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;	9 ma come sta scritto: " Ciò che occhio non vide nè orecchio udì, nè ascese al cuor dell'uomo è ciò che Dio preparò a quelli che lo amano ".
10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.	10 A noi lo rivelò Dio per mezzo dello Spirito suo, poichè lo Spirito penetra tutte le cose, anche le profondità di Dio.
11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.	11 E infatti chi fra gli uomini conosce le cose dell'uomo, se non lo spirito dell'uomo che è in lui? così anche le cose divine nessun altri le sa fuor che lo Spirito di Dio.
12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.	12 E noi non lo Spirito del mondo abbiamo ricevuto, ma lo Spirito che vien da Dio, affinchè conosciamo le cose da Dio a noi [graziosamente] donate;
13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.	13 le quali noi esponiamo non con le parole che t'insegna l'umana sapienza, ma con quelle insegnate dallo Spirito, adattando cose spirituali a cose spirituali.
14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.	14 Ma l'uomo animale non capisce le cose dello spirito di Dio; per lui sono stoltezze e non le può intendere, perchè non si possono giudicare che spiritualmente.
15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.	15 Invece l'uomo spirituale giudica sì tutto, ed egli non è giudicato da alcuno.
16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.	16 Giacchè chi mai ha conosciuto la mente del Signore da poterla comprendere? Noi invece la mente di Cristo la conosciamo.
