1 Corinthians 2

1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.	1 Én is, amikor hozzátok mentem, testvérek, nem a beszéd vagy a bölcsesség fölényével mentem, hogy hirdessem nektek Isten titkát.
2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.	2 Mert nem akartam másról tudni köztetek, mint Jézus Krisztusról, mégpedig a megfeszítettről.
3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling	3 Gyöngeségben, félelemben és nagy rettegésben voltam nálatok.
4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,	4 Beszédem és igehirdetésem nem a bölcsesség meggyőző szavaiból állt, hanem a Lélek és az erő bizonyságából,
5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.	5 hogy hitetek ne emberek bölcsességén, hanem Isten erején nyugodjék.
6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.	6 Bölcsességet pedig a tökéletesek közt hirdetünk, de nem ennek a világnak bölcsességét, sem ennek a világnak pusztulásra ítélt fejedelmeiét;
7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.	7 hanem Istennek titokzatos, elrejtett bölcsességét hirdetjük, amelyet Isten öröktől fogva előre elrendelt a mi dicsőségünkre.
8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;	8 Ezt senki sem ismerte fel ennek a világnak a fejedelmei közül, mert ha felismerték volna, sohasem feszítették volna keresztre a dicsőség Urát.
9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;	9 Hanem amint írva van: »Amit szem nem látott, fül nem hallott, ami az ember szívébe föl nem hatolt, azt készítette Isten azoknak, akik szeretik őt« .
10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.	10 Nekünk azonban kinyilatkoztatta Isten a Lélek által; mert a Lélek mindent kikutat, még az Isten mélységeit is.
11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.	11 Mert ki ismeri az emberek közül az ember benső dolgait, ha nem az ember bensejében levő lelke? Éppúgy Isten benső dolgait sem ismeri senki, csak Isten Lelke.
12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.	12 Mi azonban nem a világ lelkét kaptuk, hanem az Istentől származó Lelket, hogy megismerjük, amit Isten nekünk ajándékozott.
13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.	13 Ezt hirdetjük is, de nem az emberi bölcsesség tudós szavaival, hanem a Lélek által tanított szavakkal, lelkiekhez lelkieket mérve.
14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.	14 Az érzéki ember azonban nem fogja fel, ami az Isten Lelkéé, mert oktalanság az számára, és nem tudja megérteni, hiszen lelki módon kell azt megítélni.
15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.	15 A lelki ember pedig mindent megítél, őt azonban senki sem ítéli meg.
16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.	16 Mert ki ismeri az Úr gondolatait, hogy oktathatná őt? Bennünk pedig Krisztus gondolatai vannak.
