1 Corinthians 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.	1 Por mi parte, hermanos, cuando los visité para anunciarles el misterio de Dios, no llegué con el prestigio de la elocuencia o de la sabiduría.
2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.	2 Al contrario, no quise saber nada, fuera de Jesucristo, y Jesucristo crucificado.
3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling	3 Por eso, me presenté ante ustedes débil, temeroso y vacilante.
4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,	4 Mi palabra y mi predicación no tenían nada de la argumentación persuasiva de la sabiduría humana, sino que eran demostración del poder del Espíritu,
5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.	5 para que ustedes no basaran su fe en la sabiduría de los hombres, sino en el poder de Dios.
6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.	6 Es verdad que anunciamos una sabiduría entre aquellos que son personas espiritualmente maduras, pero no la sabiduría de este mundo ni la que ostentan los dominadores de este mundo, condenados a la destrucción.
7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.	7 Lo que anunciamos es una sabiduría de Dios, misteriosa y secreta, que él preparó para nuestra gloria antes que existiera el mundo;
8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;	8 aquella que ninguno de los dominadores de este mundo alcanzó a conocer, porque si la hubieran conocido no habrían crucificado al Señor de la gloria.
9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;	9 Nosotros anunciamos, como dice la Escritura, lo que nadie vio ni oyó y ni siquiera pudo pensar, aquello que Dios preparó para los que lo aman.
10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.	10 Dios nos reveló todo esto por medio del Espíritu, porque el Espíritu lo penetra todo, hasta lo más íntimo de Dios.
11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.	11 ¿Quién puede conocer lo más íntimo del hombre, sino el espíritu del mismo hombre? De la misma manera, nadie conoce los secretos de Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios.
12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.	12 Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que viene de Dios, para que reconozcamos los dones gratuitos que Dios nos ha dado.
13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.	13 Nosotros no hablamos de estas cosas con palabras aprendidas de la sabiduría humana, sino con el lenguaje que el Espíritu de Dios nos ha enseñado, expresando en términos espirituales las realidades del Espíritu.
14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.	14 El hombre puramente natural no valora lo que viene del Espíritu de Dios: es una locura para él y no lo puede entender, porque para juzgarlo necesita del Espíritu.
15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.	15 El hombre espiritual, en cambio, todo lo juzga, y no puede ser juzgado por nadie.
16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.	16 Porque ¿quién penetró en el pensamiento del Señor, para poder enseñarle? Pero nosotros tenemos el pensamiento de Cristo.
