1 Paul, cal ed by the wil of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Sosthenes, our brother,	1 פולוס המקרא להיות שליח ישוע המשיח ברצון אלהים וסוסתניס אחינו
2 to the church of God in Corinth, to those who have been consecrated in Christ Jesus and cal ed to beGod's holy people, with al those everywhere who cal on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord as wel asours.	2 אל קהלת אלהים אשר בקורנתוס אל המקדשים במשיח ישוע הקרואים להיות קדשים עם כל הקראים בשם אדנינו ישוע המשיח בכל מקום שלהם ושלנו
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	3 חסד לכם ושלום מאת האלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח
4 I am continual y thanking God about you, for the grace of God which you have been given in ChristJesus;	4 אודה לאלהי בעבורכם בכל עת על חסד האלהים הנתן לכם במשיח ישוע
5 in him you have been richly endowed in every kind of utterance and knowledge;	5 אשר עשרתם בו בכל בכל דבור ובכל דעת
6 so firmly has witness to Christ taken root in you.	6 באשר עדות המשיח התקימה בכם
7 And so you are not lacking in any gift as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed;	7 עד כי לא חסרתם כל מתן החסד והנכם מחכים להתגלות אדנינו ישוע המשיח
8 he will continue to give you strength till the very end, so that you will be irreproachable on the Day ofour Lord Jesus Christ.	8 אשר גם יקים אתכם ער עת קץ להיות נקיים ביום אדנינו ישוע המשיח
9 You can rely on God, who has called you to be partners with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.	9 נאמן הוא האלהים אשר על פיו נקראתם לחברת בנו ישוע המשיח אדנינו
10 Brothers, I urge you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, not to have factions among yourselves butal to be in agreement in what you profess; so that you are perfectly united in your beliefs and judgements.	10 והנני מזהיר אתכם אחי בשם אדנינו ישוע המשיח להיות כלכם פה אחד ולא תהיין מחלקות בקרבכם כי אם תכוננו יחד בלב אחד ובעצה אחת
11 From what Chloe's people have been telling me about you, brothers, it is clear that there are seriousdifferences among you.	11 כי הגד לי עליכם ביד בני בית כלואה כי יש מריבות ביניכם
12 What I mean is this: every one of you is declaring, 'I belong to Paul,' or 'I belong to Apollos,' or 'Ibelong to Cephas,' or 'I belong to Christ.'	12 וזאת אני אמר כי איש איש מכם זה אמר לפולוס וזה לאפולוס וזה לכיפא וזה למשיח הנני
13 Has Christ been split up? Was it Paul that was crucified for you, or was it in Paul's name that you werebaptised?	13 הכי חלק המשיח הכי פולוס נצלב בעדכם או לשם פולוס נטבלתם
14 I am thankful I did not baptise any of you, except Crispus and Gaius,	14 אודה לאלהים שלא טבלתי איש מכם כי אם את קרספוס ואת גיוס
15 so that no one can say that you were baptised in my name.	15 פן יאמרו כי לשמי טבלתי
16 Yes, I did baptise the family of Stephanas, too; but besides these I do not think I baptised anyone.	16 אך טבלתי גם את בני בית אסטפנוס ומלבד אלה אינני ידע אם טבלתי עוד איש אחר
17 After al , Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the gospel; and not by means of wisdom oflanguage, wise words which would make the cross of Christ pointless.	17 כי לא שלחני המשיח לטבול כי אם לבשר לא בחכמת דברים למען אשר לא יהיה לריק צלב המשיח
18 The message of the cross is fol y for those who are on the way to ruin, but for those of us who are onthe road to salvation it is the power of God.	18 כי דבר הצלב סכלות הוא לאבדים אבל לנו הנושעים גבורת אלהים הוא
19 As scripture says: I am going to destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing theunderstanding of any who understand.	19 כי כן כתוב אאבד חכמת חכמים ובינת נבונים אסתיר
20 Where are the philosophers? Where are the experts? And where are the debaters of this age? Do younot see how God has shown up human wisdom as fol y?	20 איה חכם איה ספר איה דרש העולם הזה הלא סכל האלהים את חכמת העולם הזה
21 Since in the wisdom of God the world was unable to recognise God through wisdom, it was God's ownpleasure to save believers through the fol y of the gospel.	21 כי אחרי אשר בחכמת האלהים לא ידע העולם את האלהים בחכמה היה רצון לפניו להושיע בסכלות הקריאה את המאמינים
22 While the Jews demand miracles and the Greeks look for wisdom,	22 כי היהודים שאלים להם אות והיונים מבקשים חכמה
23 we are preaching a crucified Christ: to the Jews an obstacle they cannot get over, to the gentilesfoolishness,	23 ואנחנו משמיעים את המשיח הצלוב מכשול ליהודים וסכלות ליונים
24 but to those who have been cal ed, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is both the powerof God and the wisdom of God.	24 אבל למקראים הן מיהודים הן מיונים את המשיח אשר הוא גבורת אלהים וחכמת אלהים
25 God's fol y is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength.	25 יען כי סכלות האל חכמה היא מאדם וחלשת האל חזקה היא מאדם
26 Consider, brothers, how you were cal ed; not many of you are wise by human standards, not manyinfluential, not many from noble families.	26 כי ראו נא אחי את קריאתכם שלא רבים המה החכמים לפי הבשר לא רבים השליטים ולא רבים החרים
27 No, God chose those who by human standards are fools to shame the wise; he chose those who byhuman standards are weak to shame the strong,	27 כי אם בסכל שבעולם בחר האל למען ביש את החכמים ובחלוש שבעולם בחר האל למען ביש את החזק
28 those who by human standards are common and contemptible -- indeed those who count for nothing-- to reduce to nothing al those that do count for something,	28 ובדלת העולם בחר האל ובנמאס ובאשר כאין למען בטל את אשר ישנו
29 so that no human being might feel boastful before God.	29 כדי שלא יתהלל לפניו כל בשר
30 It is by him that you exist in Christ Jesus, who for us was made wisdom from God, and saving justiceand holiness and redemption.	30 וממנו אתם במשיח ישוע אשר היה לנו לחכמה מאת האלהים ולצדקה ולקדוש ולפדיון
31 As scripture says: If anyone wants to boast, let him boast of the Lord.	31 ויהי ככתוב המתהלל יתהלל ביהוה
