1 Paul, cal ed by the wil of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Sosthenes, our brother,	1 Pablo, llamado a ser apóstol de Cristo Jesús por la voluntad de Dios, y Sóstenes, el hermano,
2 to the church of God in Corinth, to those who have been consecrated in Christ Jesus and cal ed to beGod's holy people, with al those everywhere who cal on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord as wel asours.	2 a la Iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto: a los santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos, con cuantos en cualquier lugar invocan el nombre de Jesucristo, Señor nuestro, de nosotros y de ellos
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	3 gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios, Padre nuestro, y del Señor Jesucristo.
4 I am continual y thanking God about you, for the grace of God which you have been given in ChristJesus;	4 Doy gracias a Dios sin cesar por vosotros, a causa de la gracia de Dios que os ha sido otorgada en Cristo Jesús,
5 in him you have been richly endowed in every kind of utterance and knowledge;	5 pues en él habéis sido enriquecidos en todo, en toda palabra y en todo conocimiento,
6 so firmly has witness to Christ taken root in you.	6 en la medida en que se ha consolidado entre vosotros el testimonio de Cristo.
7 And so you are not lacking in any gift as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed;	7 Así, ya no os falta ningún don de gracia a los que esperáis la Revelación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
8 he will continue to give you strength till the very end, so that you will be irreproachable on the Day ofour Lord Jesus Christ.	8 El os fortalecerá hasta el fin para que seáis irreprensibles en el Día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
9 You can rely on God, who has called you to be partners with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.	9 Pues fiel es Dios, por quien habéis sido llamados a la comunión con su hijo Jesucristo, Señor nuestro.
10 Brothers, I urge you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, not to have factions among yourselves butal to be in agreement in what you profess; so that you are perfectly united in your beliefs and judgements.	10 Os conjuro, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, a que tengáis todos un mismo hablar, y no haya entre vosotros divisiones; antes bien, estéis unidos en una misma mentalidad y un mismo juicio.
11 From what Chloe's people have been telling me about you, brothers, it is clear that there are seriousdifferences among you.	11 Porque, hermanos míos, estoy informado de vosotros, por los de Cloe, que existen discordias entre vosotros.
12 What I mean is this: every one of you is declaring, 'I belong to Paul,' or 'I belong to Apollos,' or 'Ibelong to Cephas,' or 'I belong to Christ.'	12 Me refiero a que cada uno de vosotros dice: «Yo soy de Pablo», «Yo de Apolo», «Yo de Cefas», «Yo de Cristo».
13 Has Christ been split up? Was it Paul that was crucified for you, or was it in Paul's name that you werebaptised?	13 ¿Esta dividido Cristo? ¿Acaso fue Pablo crucificado por vosotros? ¿O habéis sido bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?
14 I am thankful I did not baptise any of you, except Crispus and Gaius,	14 ¡Doy gracias a Dios por no haber bautizado a ninguno de vosotros fuera de Crispo y Gayo!
15 so that no one can say that you were baptised in my name.	15 Así, nadie puede decir que habéis sido bautizados en mi nombre.
16 Yes, I did baptise the family of Stephanas, too; but besides these I do not think I baptised anyone.	16 ¡Ah, sí!, también bauticé a la familia de Estéfanas. Por lo demás, no creo haber bautizado a ningún otro.
17 After al , Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the gospel; and not by means of wisdom oflanguage, wise words which would make the cross of Christ pointless.	17 Porque no me envió Cristo a bautizar, sino a predicar el Evangelio. Y no con palabras sabias, para no desvirtuar la cruz de Cristo.
18 The message of the cross is fol y for those who are on the way to ruin, but for those of us who are onthe road to salvation it is the power of God.	18 Pues la predicación de la cruz es una necedad para los que se pierden; mas para los que se salvan - para nosotros - es fuerza de Dios.
19 As scripture says: I am going to destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing theunderstanding of any who understand.	19 Porque dice la Escritura: Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios, e inutilizaré la inteligencia de los inteligentes.
20 Where are the philosophers? Where are the experts? And where are the debaters of this age? Do younot see how God has shown up human wisdom as fol y?	20 ¿Dónde está el sabio? ¿Dónde el docto? ¿Dónde el sofista de este mundo? ¿Acaso no entondeció Dios la sabiduría del mundo?
21 Since in the wisdom of God the world was unable to recognise God through wisdom, it was God's ownpleasure to save believers through the fol y of the gospel.	21 De hecho, como el mundo mediante su propia sabiduría no conoció a Dios en su divina sabiduría, quiso Dios salvar a los creyentes mediante la necedad de la predicación.
22 While the Jews demand miracles and the Greeks look for wisdom,	22 Así, mientras los judíos piden señales y los griegos buscan sabiduría,
23 we are preaching a crucified Christ: to the Jews an obstacle they cannot get over, to the gentilesfoolishness,	23 nosotros predicamos a un Cristo crucificado: escándalo para los judíos, necedad para los gentiles;
24 but to those who have been cal ed, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is both the powerof God and the wisdom of God.	24 mas para los llamados, lo mismo judíos que griegos, un Cristo, fuerza de Dios y sabiduría de Dios.
25 God's fol y is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength.	25 Porque la necedad divina es más sabia que la sabiduría de los hombres, y la debilidad divina, más fuerte que la fuerza de los hombres.
26 Consider, brothers, how you were cal ed; not many of you are wise by human standards, not manyinfluential, not many from noble families.	26 ¡Mirad, hermanos, quiénes habéis sido llamados! No hay muchos sabios según la carne ni muchos poderosos ni muchos de la nobleza.
27 No, God chose those who by human standards are fools to shame the wise; he chose those who byhuman standards are weak to shame the strong,	27 Ha escogido Dios más bien lo necio del mundo para confundir a los sabios. Y ha escogido Dios lo débil del mundo, para confundir lo fuerte.
28 those who by human standards are common and contemptible -- indeed those who count for nothing-- to reduce to nothing al those that do count for something,	28 Lo plebeyo y despreciable del mundo ha escogido Dios; lo que no es, para reducir a la nada lo que es.
29 so that no human being might feel boastful before God.	29 Para que ningún mortal se gloríe en la presencia de Dios.
30 It is by him that you exist in Christ Jesus, who for us was made wisdom from God, and saving justiceand holiness and redemption.	30 De él os viene que estéis en Cristo Jesús, al cual hizo Dios para nosotros sabiduría de origen divino, justicia, santificación y redención,
31 As scripture says: If anyone wants to boast, let him boast of the Lord.	31 a fin de que, como dice la Escritura: El que se gloríe, gloríese en el Señor.
