Romans 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 So then, now that we have been justified by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord JesusChrist;	1 Giustificati adunque mediante la fede, abbiamo pace con Dio per mezzo del nostro Signore Gesù Cristo,
2 it is through him, by faith, that we have been admitted into God's favour in which we are living, andlook forward exultantly to God's glory.	2 a cui dobbiamo d'avore por la fede accesso a questa grazia, nella quale stiam saldi, e di gloriarci nella speranza della gloria dei figli di Dio.
3 Not only that; let us exult, too, in our hardships, understanding that hardship develops perseverance,	3 E non soltanto di questo ci gloriamo, ma anche delle tribolazioni, sapendo come la tribolazione produce la pazienza,
4 and perseverance develops a tested character, something that gives us hope,	4 la pazienza l'esperienza, l'esperienza la speranza.
5 and a hope which will not let us down, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by theHoly Spirit which has been given to us.	5 Or la speranza non inganna, perchè la carità di Dio è stata diffusa nei nostri cuori per mezzo dello Spirito Santo, che ci è stato donato.
6 When we were stil helpless, at the appointed time, Christ died for the godless.	6 Per qual motivo adunque, mentre noi eravamo impotenti, Cristo, nel tempo stabilito, è morto per gli empi?
7 You could hardly find anyone ready to die even for someone upright; though it is just possible that, fora real y good person, someone might undertake to die.	7 Or è difficile che uno muoia per un giusto, pure può darsi che per un uomo dabbene qualcuno abbia il coraggio di morire;
8 So it is proof of God's own love for us, that Christ died for us while we were stil sinners.	8 ma Dio mostra la sua carità verso di noi, per­chè, essendo ancora peccatori, nel tempo stabilito
9 How much more can we be sure, therefore, that, now that we have been justified by his death, we shalbe saved through him from the retribution of God.	9 Cristo è morto per noi. Tanto più dunque ora che siam giustificati nel suo sangue, saremo salvi dall'ira per mezzo di lui.
10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how muchmore can we be sure that, being now reconciled, we shal be saved by his life.	10 Perchè, se quando oravamo nemici siamo stati riconciliati con Dio mediante la morte del suo Figliuolo, molto piu essendo riconciliati saremo salvi mediante la sua vita.
11 What is more, we are filled with exultant trust in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whomwe have already gained our reconciliation.	11 Di più ancora ci gloriamo in Dio per Gesù Cristo Signor nostro, per mezzo del quale abbiamo ora ottenuta la riconciliazione.
12 Wel then; it was through one man that sin came into the world, and through sin death, and thus deathhas spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned.	12 Così, dunque, per un sol uomo il peccato è entrato nel mondo e col peccato la morte, e la morte si è estesa a tutti gli uomini, perchè tutti hanno (in Adamo) peccato.
13 Sin already existed in the world before there was any law, even though sin is not reckoned whenthere is no law.	13 Anche prima della legge il peccato era nel mondo, ma non era imputato, non essendovi legge;
14 Nonetheless death reigned over al from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sin was not thebreaking of a commandment, as Adam's was. He prefigured the One who was to come . . .	14 eppure la morte regnò da Adamo fino a Mosè, anche sopra coloro che non avevano peccato di prevaricazione, come Adamo, il quale è figura di Colui che doveva venire.
15 There is no comparison between the free gift and the offence. If death came to many through theoffence of one man, how much greater an effect the grace of God has had, coming to so many and so plentiful yas a free gift through the one man Jesus Christ!	15 Ma il dono è stato ben differente dal delitto; perchè se per il delitto di un solo molti perirono, molto più la grazia e la liberalità di Dio, in grazia di un sol uomo, Gesù Cristo, abbondò in molti.
16 Again, there is no comparison between the gift and the offence of one man. One single offencebrought condemnation, but now, after many offences, have come the free gift and so acquittal!	16 V'è ancora differenza tra il peccato di un solo e il dono, perchè il giudizio da un solo peccato va alla condanna, la grazia invece da molti peccati va alla giustificazione.
17 It was by one man's offence that death came to reign over all, but how much greater the reign in lifeof those who receive the ful ness of grace and the gift of saving justice, through the one man, Jesus Christ.	17 Difatti se per il delitto d'un solo e per un solo regnò la morte, con più ragione coloro che ricevono l'abbondanza della grazia e del dono della giustizia regneranno nella vita per il solo Gesù Cristo.
18 One man's offence brought condemnation on al humanity; and one man's good act has broughtjustification and life to all humanity.	18 Quindi, come pel delitto di un solo (venne) sopra tutti gli uomini la dannazione, cosi per la giustizia d'un solo è in tutti gli uomini la giustificazione vivificante.
19 Just as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man's obedience are manyto be made upright.	19 Così pure, come per la disobbedienza d'un solo uomo molti son costituiti peccatori, anche per l'obbedienza d'un solo molti saran costituiti giusti.
20 When law came on the scene, it was to multiply the offences. But however much sin increased, gracewas always greater;	20 Or la legge intervenne perchè abbondasse il peccato; ma dove abbondò il peccato sovrabbondò la grazia,
21 so that as sin's reign brought death, so grace was to rule through saving justice that leads to eternallife through Jesus Christ our Lord.	21 affinchè come il peccato regnò colla morte, cosi la grazia regni mediante la giustizia per dare la vita eterna per mezzo di Gesù Cristo Signor nostro.
