Romans 5

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 So then, now that we have been justified by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord JesusChrist;	1 לכן אחרי נצדקנו באמונה שלום לנו עם האלהים באדנינו ישוע המשיח
2 it is through him, by faith, that we have been admitted into God's favour in which we are living, andlook forward exultantly to God's glory.	2 אשר בידו מצאנו באמונה מבוא אל החסד הזה אשר אנחנו עמדים בו ונתהלל בתקות כבוד האלהים
3 Not only that; let us exult, too, in our hardships, understanding that hardship develops perseverance,	3 ולא זאת בלבד כי אף נתהלל בצרות יען אשר ידענו כי הצרה מביאה לידי סבלנות
4 and perseverance develops a tested character, something that gives us hope,	4 והסבלנות לידי עמידה בנסיון והעמידה בנסיון לידי תקוה
5 and a hope which will not let us down, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by theHoly Spirit which has been given to us.	5 והתקוה היא לא תביש כי הוצק בלבבנו אהבת אל על ידי רוח הקדש הנתן לנו
6 When we were stil helpless, at the appointed time, Christ died for the godless.	6 כי המשיח בעודנו חלשים מת בעתו בעד הרעשים
7 You could hardly find anyone ready to die even for someone upright; though it is just possible that, fora real y good person, someone might undertake to die.	7 הן בעד הצדיק יקשה לאיש למות אכן למות בעד הטוב אולי ישאהו לבו
8 So it is proof of God's own love for us, that Christ died for us while we were stil sinners.	8 אבל בזאת הודיע האלהים את אהבתו אלינו כי המשיח מת בעדנו בהיותנו עוד חטאים
9 How much more can we be sure, therefore, that, now that we have been justified by his death, we shalbe saved through him from the retribution of God.	9 ועתה אשר נצדקנו בדמו מה מאד נושע בו מן הקצף
10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how muchmore can we be sure that, being now reconciled, we shal be saved by his life.	10 כי אם נרצינו לאלהים במות בנו בהיותנו איבים אף כי נושע עתה בחייו אחרי אשר נרצינו
11 What is more, we are filled with exultant trust in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whomwe have already gained our reconciliation.	11 ולא זאת בלבד כי גם מתהללים אנחנו באלהים על יד אדנינו ישוע המשיח אשר בו עתה קבלנו את הרצוי
12 Wel then; it was through one man that sin came into the world, and through sin death, and thus deathhas spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned.	12 לכן כאשר על ידי אדם אחד בא החטא לעולם והמות בעקב החטא וכן עבר המות על כל בני אדם מפני אשר כלם חטאו
13 Sin already existed in the world before there was any law, even though sin is not reckoned whenthere is no law.	13 כי עד זמן התורה היה החטא בעולם אך לא יחשב חטא באין תורה
14 Nonetheless death reigned over al from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sin was not thebreaking of a commandment, as Adam's was. He prefigured the One who was to come . . .	14 אולם המות מלך מאדם עד משה גם על אלה אשר לא חטאו בדמיון עברת אדם הראשון אשר הוא דמות העתיד לבוא
15 There is no comparison between the free gift and the offence. If death came to many through theoffence of one man, how much greater an effect the grace of God has had, coming to so many and so plentiful yas a free gift through the one man Jesus Christ!	15 אך לא כדבר הפשע דבר המתנה כי אם בפשע האחד מתו הרבים אף כי חסד אלהים ומתנתו עדפו ערוף לרבים בחסד האדם האחד ישוע המשיח
16 Again, there is no comparison between the gift and the offence of one man. One single offencebrought condemnation, but now, after many offences, have come the free gift and so acquittal!	16 ולא כמו על ידי חטא אחד כן המתנה כי המשפט יצא מאחד לחיב אבל מתנת החסד היא לזכות מפשעים רבים
17 It was by one man's offence that death came to reign over all, but how much greater the reign in lifeof those who receive the ful ness of grace and the gift of saving justice, through the one man, Jesus Christ.	17 כי אם בפשע האחד מלך המות על ידי האחד אף כי מקבלי עדף החסד ומתנת הצדקה ימלכו בחיים על ידי האחד ישוע המשיח
18 One man's offence brought condemnation on al humanity; and one man's good act has broughtjustification and life to all humanity.	18 לכן כאשר בפשע אחד נאשמו כל בני אדם ככה גם על ידי זכות אחת יזכו כל בני אדם לחיים
19 Just as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man's obedience are manyto be made upright.	19 כי כאשר במרי האדם האחד היו הרבים לחטאים ככה גם על ידי משמעת האחד יהיו הרבים לצדיקים
20 When law came on the scene, it was to multiply the offences. But however much sin increased, gracewas always greater;	20 אבל התורה נכנסה למען ירבה הפשע ובאשר רבה החטא עדף ממנו החסד
21 so that as sin's reign brought death, so grace was to rule through saving justice that leads to eternallife through Jesus Christ our Lord.	21 למען כאשר מלך החטא במות ככה ימלך גם החסד על ידי הצדקה לחיי עולם בישוע המשיח אדנינו
