Romans 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.	1 Or noi più forti dobbiamo sostenere la fiacchezza dei deboli e non compiacerci di noi stessi,
2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.	2 ma ciascuno si renda gradito al prossimo nel bene per edificarlo;
3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.	3 perchè Cristo non cercò la propria soddisfazione, ma, come sta scritto: Gl'improperi di coloro che ti oltraggiano sono caduti sopra di me.
4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.	4 Or tutto quello che è stato scritto, per nostro ammaestramento è stato scritto, affinchè mediante la pazienza e la consolazione donata dalle Scritture conserviamo la speranza.
5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,	5 Il Dio della pazienza e della consolazione vi conceda d'aver il medesimo sentimento secondo Gesù Cristo;
6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.	6 affinchè d'un sol cuore, con una sola voce glorifichiate Dio, Padre del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo.
7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.	7 Accoglietevi dunque gli uni gli altri come Cristo ha accolto voi, per la gloria di Dio.
8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,	8 Dico infatti che Gesù Cristo è stato ministro dei circoncisi per dimostrare la veracità di Dio e adempire le promesse fatte ai padri.-
9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.	9 I Gentili invece glorificano Dio a causa della sua misericordia, come sta scritto: Per questo ti loderò tra i Gentili, o Signore, e canterò al tuo nome.
10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,	10 Dice ancora: Rallegratevi, o Gentili, col suo popolo.
11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.	11 E ancora: Gentili, lodate tutti, il Signore; o popoli tutti, celebratelo.
12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.	12 E anche Isaia dice: Apparirà la radice di Iesse, Colui che sorgerà a governare i Gentili; in lui i Gentili spereranno.
13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.	13 Il Dio della speranza vi ricolmi adunque di tutta la gioia e di tutta la pace che è nella fede, affinchè abbondiate nella speranza e nella virtù dello Spirito Santo.
14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.	14 Io però son persuaso, o fratelli, che da voi siete pieni di carità, colmi d'ogni sapere, capaci di ammonirvi a vicenda.
15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.	15 Ma vi ho scritto un po' arditamente come per ravvivare i vostri ricordi, e per la grazia che Dio mi ha fatta
16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.	16 d'esser ministro di Gesù Cristo fra i Gentili, consacrato al servizio del Vangelo di Dio, affinchè l'offerta dei Gentili sia gradita e santificata dallo Spirito Santo.
17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.	17 Ho dunque di che gloriarmi di Cristo Gesù davanti a Dio;
18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,	18 perchè oserei dire non esservi cosa la quale Cristo non abbia fatta per mezzo mio a fine di condurre i Gentili all'ubbidienza, colla parola e coi fatti;
19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;	19 colla potenza dei miracoli e dei prodigi, colla virtù dello Spirito Santo. Tant'è vero che da Gerusalemme e dai paesi circostanti fino all'Illiria tutto ho ripieno del Vangelo di Cristo,
20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;	20 studiandomi di predicare questo Vangelo dove Cristo non era stato ancora nominato, per non fabbricare sopra il fondamento posto da altri; ma secondo quanto sta scritto:
21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.	21 Quelli ai quali nulla era stato detto di lui lo vedranno, e quelli che non ne han sentito parlare lo conosceranno.
22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;	22 E' stato questo che mi ha parecchie volte impedito di venire da voi e sono stato impedi­to fino ad oggi.
23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-	23 Ma ora, non avendo più nulla che mi trattenga in queste contrade, e avendo da molti anni il desiderio di venire da voi,
24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.	24 spero di vedervi quando passerò per andare in Spagna, ove sarò da voi accompagnato dopo essermi in parte saziato di voi.
25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,	25 Ora invece vado a Gerusalemme a portare dei soccorsi ai santi,
26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.	26 avendo la Macedonia e l'Acaia stimato necessario fare una colletta per i poveri che sono tra i santi di Gerusalemme.
27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.	27 L'hanno stimato necessario; e veramente son debitori ad essi. Infatti, se i Gentili sono stati fatti partecipi dei beni spirituali dei Giudei, devono ancor sovvenirli coi beni materiali.
28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.	28 Quando avrò terminato questo incarico ed avrò consegnata ad essi questa offerta, passando da voi andrò in Spagna;
29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.	29 e so che, venendo da voi, verrò colla pienezza della benedizione di Cristo.
30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;	30 Vi scongiuro o fratelli, per il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo e per la carità dello Spirito Santo, ad aiutarmi colle vostre orazioni che fate a Dio per me,
31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.	31 affinché io sia liberato dagli infedeli che sono in Giudea, l'offerta ch'io porto sia gradita dai santi di Gerusalemme,
32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.	32 e così possa venire, se piace a Dio, con gioia, da voi per riposarmi in vostra compagnia.
33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.	33 Il Dio della pace sia con voi tutti. Così sia.
