Romans 15

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.	1 ועלינו החזקים לשאת חלשות הכשלים ואל נבקש הנאת עצמנו
2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.	2 כי כל אחד ממנו יבקש הנאת חברו לטוב לו למען יבנה
3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.	3 כי גם המשיח לא בקש הנאת עצמו אלא ככתוב חרפות חורפיך נפלו עלי
4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.	4 כי כל אשר נכתב מלפנים ללמדנו נכתב למען תהיה לנו תקוה בסבלנות ובתנחומות הכתובים
5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,	5 ואלהי הסבלנות והנחמה הוא יתן לכם להיות כלכם לב אחד על פי המשיח ישוע
6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.	6 אשר תכבדו בנפש אחת ובפה אחד את האלהים אבי אדנינו ישוע המשיח
7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.	7 על כן תקבלו איש את אחיו כאשר גם המשיח קבל אתנו לכבוד האלהים
8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,	8 ואני אמר כי ישוע המשיח היה למשרת בני המילה למען אמת האלהים לקים את ההבטחות אשר לאבות
9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.	9 והגוים המה יכבדו את האלהים למען רחמיו ככתוב על כן אודך בגוים ולשמך אזמרה
10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,	10 ואומר הרנינו גוים עמו
11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.	11 ואומר הללו את יהוה כל גוים שבחוהו כל האמים
12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.	12 וישעיהו אמר והיה שרש ישי אשר עמד לנס עמים אליו גוים יקוו
13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.	13 ואלהי התקוה הוא ימלא אתכם כל שמחה ושלום באמונה למען תעדף תקותכם בגבורת רוח הקדש
14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.	14 והנה אחי מבטח אני בכם כי גם אתם בעצמכם מלאי אהבת חסד ממלאים כל דעת ותוכלו להוכיח איש את רעהו
15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.	15 אך העזתי מעט בכתבי אליכם הנה והנה כמזכיר אתכם על פי החסד הנתון לי מאת האלהים
16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.	16 להיותי משרת ישוע המשיח לגוים ולכהן בבשורת האלהים למען יהיה קרבן הגוים רצוי ומקדש ברוח הקדש
17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.	17 על כן יש לי להתהלל במשיח ישוע נגד האלהים
18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,	18 כי לא אעז פני לדבר דבר זולתי אשר עשה המשיח בידי למען הטות באמר ובמעשה את לב הגוים לסור למשמעתו
19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;	19 בגבורת אתות ומופתים ובגבורת רוח אלהים עד כי מלאתי מירושלים וסביבותיה ועד לאלוריקון את בשורת המשיח
20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;	20 בהשתדלי להגיד את הבשורה לא במקמות אשר שם כבר נקרא שם המשיח לבלתי בנות על יסוד אחרים
21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.	21 כי אם ככתוב אשר לא ספר להם ראו ואשר לא שמעו התבוננו
22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;	22 וזה הוא הדבר אשר נעצרתי בגללו פעם ושתים מבוא אליכם
23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-	23 אבל כעת אשר אין עוד מקום לי בגלילות האלה ונכסף נכספתי לבא אליכם זה שנים רבות
24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.	24 אבוא אליכם בלכתי לאספמיא כי מקוה אנכי לראותכם בעברי ואתם תשלחוני שמה ואשבעה מעט מכם בראשונה
25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,	25 אמנם עתה אלכה ירושלימה לעזור את הקדושים
26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.	26 כי מקדוניא ואכיא הואילו לתת משאת נדבה לאביוני הקדושים אשר בירושלים
27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.	27 כי הואילו ואף מחיבים הם להם כי אם היה לגוים חלק בדברי הרוח אשר להם הלא עליהם לעזרם גם בדברי הגוף
28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.	28 לכן כשגמרתי את זאת וחתמתי להם הפרי הזה אז אעברה דרך ארצכם לאספמיא
29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.	29 ויודע אנכי כי בבאי אליכם אבוא במלא ברכת בשורת המשיח
30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;	30 ואני מעורר אתכם אחי באדנינו ישוע המשיח ובאהבת הרוח להתאמץ אתי בהעתיר בעדי אל האלהים
31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.	31 למען אשר אנצל מהסוררים בארץ יהודה ויערב על הקדושים שמושי לשם ירושלים
32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.	32 ואשר אבוא אליכם במשחה ברצון אלהים ואנפש עמכם
33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.	33 ואלהי השלום עם כלכם אמן
