Romans 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.	1 Nosotros, los fuertes, debemos sobrellevar las flaquezas de los débiles y no buscar nuestro propio agrado.
2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.	2 Que cada uno de nosotros trate de agradar a su prójimo para el bien, buscando su edificación;
3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.	3 pues tampoco Cristo buscó su propio agrado, antes bien, como dice la Escritura: Los ultrajes de los que te ultrajaron cayeron sobre mi.
4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.	4 En efecto todo cuanto fue escrito en el pasado, se escribió para enseñanza nuestra, para que con la paciencia y el consuelo que dan las Escrituras mantengamos la esperanza.
5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,	5 Y el Dios de la paciencia y del consuelo os conceda tener los unos para con los otros los mismos sentimientos, según Cristo Jesús,
6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.	6 para que unánimes, a una voz, glorifiquéis al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.	7 Por tanto, acogeos mutuamente como os acogio Cristo para gloria de Dios.
8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,	8 Pues afirmo que Cristo se puso al servicio de los circuncisos a favor de la veracidad de Dios, para dar cumplimiento a las promesas hechas a los patriarcas,
9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.	9 y para que los gentiles glorificasen a Dios por su misericordia, como dice la Escritura: Por eso te bendeciré entre los gentiles y ensalzaré tu nombre.
10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,	10 Y en otro lugar: Gentiles, regocijaos juntamente con su pueblo;
11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.	11 y de nuevo: Alabad, gentiles todos, al Señor y cántenle himnos todos los pueblos.
12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.	12 Y a su vez Isaías dice: Aparecerá el retoño de Jesé, el que se levanta para imperar sobre los gentiles. En él pondrán los gentiles su esperanza.
13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.	13 El Dios de la esperanza os colme de todo gozo y paz en vuestra fe, hasta rebosar de esperanza por la fuerza del Espíritu Santo.
14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.	14 Por mi parte estoy persuadido, hermanos míos, en lo que a vosotros toca, de que también vosotros estáis llenos de buenas disposiciones, henchidos de todo conocimiento y capacitados también para amonestaros mutuamente.
15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.	15 Sin embargo, en algunos pasajes os he escrito con cierto atrevimiento, como para reavivar vuestros recuerdos, en virtud de la gracia que me ha sido otorgada por Dios,
16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.	16 de ser para los gentiles ministro de Cristo Jesús, ejerciendo el sagrado oficio del Evangelio de Dios, para que la oblación de los gentiles sea agradable, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.
17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.	17 Tengo, pues, de qué gloriarme en Cristo Jesús en lo referente al servicio de Dios.
18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,	18 Pues no me atreveré a hablar de cosa alguna que Cristo no haya realizado por medio de mi para conseguir la obediencia de los gentiles, de palabra y de obra,
19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;	19 en virtud de señales y prodigios, en virtud del Espíritu de Dios, tanto que desde Jerusalén y en todas direcciones hasta el Ilírico he dado cumplimiento al Evangelio de Cristo;
20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;	20 teniendo así, como punto de honra, no anunciar el Evangelio sino allí donde el nombre de Cristo no era aún conocido, para no construir sobre cimientos ya puestos por otros,
21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.	21 antes bien, como dice la Escritura: Los que ningún anuncio recibieron de él, le verán, y los que nada oyeron, comprenderán.
22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;	22 Esa era la razón por la cual siempre me veía impedido de llegar hasta vosotros.
23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-	23 Mas ahora, no teniendo ya campo de acción en estas regiones, y deseando vivamente desde hace muchos años ir donde vosotros,
24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.	24 cuando me dirija a España... Pues espero veros al pasar, y ser encaminado por vosotros hacia allá, después de haber disfrutado un poco de vuestra compañía.
25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,	25 Mas, por ahora, voy a Jerusalén para el servicio de los santos,
26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.	26 pues Macedonia y Acaya tuvieron a bien hacer una colecta en favor de los pobres de entre los santos de Jerusalén.
27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.	27 Lo tuvieron a bien, y debían hacérselo; pues si los gentiles han participado en sus bienes espirituales, ellos a su vez deben servirles con sus bienes temporales.
28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.	28 Así que, una vez terminado este asunto, y entregado oficialmente el fruto de la colecta, partiré para España, pasando por vosotros.
29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.	29 Y bien sé que, al ir a vosotros, lo haré con la plenitud de las bendiciones de Cristo.
30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;	30 Pero os suplico, hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu Santo, que luchéis juntamente conmigo en vuestras oraciones rogando a Dios por mí,
31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.	31 para que me vea libre de los incredulos de Judea, y el socorro que llevo a Jerusalén sea bien recibido por los santos;
32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.	32 y pueda también llegar con alegría a vosotros por la voluntad de Dios, y disfrutar de algún reposo entre vosotros.
33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.	33 El Dios de la paz sea con todos vosotros. Amén.
