Romans 15

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.	1 Nosotros, los que somos fuertes, debemos sobrellevar las flaquezas de los débiles y no complacernos a nosotros mismos.
2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.	2 Que cada uno trate de agradar a su prójimo para el bien y la edificación común.
3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.	3 Porque tampoco Cristo buscó su propia complacencia, como dice la Escritura: "Cayeron sobre mí los ultrajes de los que te agravian".
4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.	4 Ahora bien, todo lo que ha sido escrito en el pasado, ha sido escrito para nuestra instrucción, a fin de que por la constancia y el consuelo que dan las Escrituras, mantengamos la esperanza.
5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,	5 Que el Dios de la constancia y del consuelo les conceda tener los mismos sentimientos unos hacia otros, a ejemplo de Cristo Jesús.
6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.	6 para que con un solo corazón y una sola voz, glorifiquen a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.	7 Sean mutuamente acogedores, como Cristo los acogió a ustedes para la gloria de Dios.
8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,	8 Porque les aseguro que Cristo se hizo servidor de los judíos para confirmar la fidelidad de Dios, cumpliendo las promesas que él había hecho a nuestros padres,
9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.	9 y para que los paganos glorifiquen a Dios por su misericordia. Así lo enseña la Escritura cuando dice: "Yo te alabaré en medio de las naciones, Señor, y cantaré en honor de tu Nombre".
10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,	10 Y en otra parte dice: "¡Pueblos extranjeros, alégrense con el Pueblo de Dios!".
11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.	11 Y también afirma: "¡Alaben al Señor todas las naciones; glorifíquenlo todos los pueblos!"
12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.	12 Y el profeta Isaías dice a su vez: "Aparecerá el brote de Jesé, el que se alzará para gobernar las naciones paganas: y todos los pueblos pondrán en él su esperanza".
13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.	13 Que el Dios de la esperanza los llene de alegría y de paz en la fe, para que la esperanza sobreabunde en ustedes por obra del Espíritu Santo.
14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.	14 Por mi parte, hermanos, estoy convencido de que ustedes están llenos de buenas disposiciones y colmados del don de la ciencia, y también de que son capaces de aconsejarse mutuamente.
15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.	15 Sin embargo, les he escrito, en algunos pasajes con una cierta audacia, para recordarles lo que ya saben, correspondiendo así a la gracia que Dios me ha dado:
16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.	16 la de ser ministro de Jesucristo entre los paganos, ejerciendo el oficio sagrado de anunciar la Buena Noticia de Dios, a fin de que los paganos lleguen a ser una ofrenda agradable a Dios, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.
17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.	17 ¡Yo tengo que gloriarme en Cristo Jesús, en lo que se refiere al servicio de Dios!
18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,	18 Porque no me atrevería a hablar sino de aquello que hizo Cristo por mi intermedio, para conducir a los paganos a la obediencia, mediante la palabra y la acción,
19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;	19 por el poder de signos y prodigios y por la fuerza del Espíritu Santo. Desde Jerusalén y sus alrededores hasta Iliria, he llevado a su pleno cumplimiento la Buena Noticia de Cristo,
20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;	20 haciendo cuestión de honor no predicar la Buena Noticia allí donde el nombre de Cristo ya había sido invocado, para no edificar sobre un fundamento puesto por otros.
21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.	21 Así dice la Escritura: "Lo verán aquellos a los que no se les había anunciado y comprenderán aquellos que no habían oído hablar de él".
22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;	22 Por eso en todo este tiempo no he podido ir a verlos.
23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-	23 Pero como ya he terminado mi trabajo en esas regiones y desde hace varios años tengo un gran deseo de visitarlos,
24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.	24 espero verlos de paso cuando vaya a España, y que me ayuden a proseguir mi viaje a ese país, una vez que haya disfrutado, aunque sea un poco, de la compañía de ustedes.
25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,	25 Pero ahora, voy a Jerusalén para llevar una ayuda los santos de allí.
26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.	26 Porque Macedonia y Acaya resolvieron hacer una colecta en favor de los santos de Jerusalén que están necesitados.
27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.	27 Lo hicieron espontáneamente, aunque en realidad, estaban en deuda con ellos. Porque si los paganos participaron de sus bienes espirituales, deben a su vez retribuirles con bienes materiales.
28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.	28 Y una vez que haya terminado esa misión y entregado oficialmente la ofrenda recogida, iré a España, pasando por allí.
29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.	29 Y estoy seguro de que llegaré hasta ustedes con la plenitud de las bendiciones de Cristo.
30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;	30 Les ruego, hermanos, en nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu Santo, que luchen junto conmigo, intercediendo ante Dios por mí,
31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.	31 a fin de que, en Judea, no caiga en manos de los incrédulos, y los santos de Jerusalén reciban con agrado la ofrenda que les llevo.
32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.	32 Así tendré la alegría de ir a verlos, y si Dios quiere, podré descansar un poco entre ustedes.
33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.	33 Que el Dios de la paz esté con todos ustedes. Amén.
