Romans 15

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.	1 Noi che siamo i forti dobbiamo portare le fragilità dei deboli e non piacere a noi stessi.
2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.	2 Ciascuno di noi piaccia al prossimo per il suo bene, in vista dell'edificazione.
3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.	3 Anche Cristo, infatti, non piacque a se stesso, ma, come sta scritto, gli oltraggi di quelli che ti oltraggiano sono caduti su di me.
4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.	4 Infatti tutto quanto è stato scritto prima, è stato scritto per nostro ammaestramento, in modo che per mezzo della costanza e della consolazione che ci vengono dalla Scrittura, noi abbiamo la speranza.
5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,	5 Il Dio della costanza e della consolazione vi conceda di avere nelle vostre relazioni reciproche le stesse aspirazioni secondo Gesù Cristo,
6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.	6 in modo che con un solo cuore e un'unica bocca glorifichiate Dio e Padre del nostro Signore Gesù Cristo.
7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.	7 Per questo accoglietevi a vicenda, come anche Cristo accolse noi a gloria di Dio.
8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,	8 Dichiaro infatti che Cristo è divenuto servitore dei circoncisi per la veracità di Dio, compiendo le promesse fatte ai padri;
9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.	9 i pagani invece glorificano Dio per la misericordia, secondo quanto sta scritto: Per questo ti loderò in mezzo ai pagani e canterò la gloria del tuo nome.
10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,	10 E di nuovo dice: Gioite, nazioni, insieme al suo popolo.
11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.	11 E inoltre: Lodate il Signore, o genti tutte, lo celebrino tutti i popoli.
12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.	12 E ancora Isaia dice: Verrà il germoglio della radice di Iesse e colui che sorge a dominare le nazioni: le genti spereranno in lui.
13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.	13 Il Dio poi della speranza vi ricolmi di ogni gioia e pace nel credere, in modo che voi abbondiate nella speranza in forza dello Spirito Santo.
14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.	14 Io sono persuaso, fratelli miei, a vostro riguardo, che anche voi siete ricolmi di bontà, ripieni di ogni scienza, in grado anche di ammonirvi reciprocamente.
15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.	15 Nonostante ciò vi ho scritto con una certa audacia, in parte per richiamarvi alla mente ciò che già sapete: l'ho fatto in forza della benevolenza riversata su di me da Dio,
16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.	16 perché io fossi ministro cultuale di Gesù Cristo nei riguardi dei pagani e prestassi il mio culto per quanto riguarda il vangelo di Dio, affinché l'offerta sacrificale rappresentata dai pagani divenga accetta, santificata com'è per mezzo dello Spirito Santo.
17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.	17 Ho questo titolo di vanto in Gesù Cristo per le cose che riguardano Dio;
18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,	18 non oserò infatti dire alcunché di queste cose se non le ha compiute Cristo per mezzo mio, affinché i pagani si sottomettano all'obbedienza in parole e in azioni,
19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;	19 con la forza dei segni miracolosi e dei prodigi, con la potenza dello Spirito. E così, partendo da Gerusalemme e movendomi a largo raggio fino all'Illirico, ho già condotto a termine l'annuncio del vangelo di Cristo,
20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;	20 facendomi però un punto d'onore di annunciare il vangelo dove ancora non era giunto il nome di Cristo, in modo da non costruire sul fondamento già posto da un altro,
21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.	21 ma come sta scritto: Lo vedranno quelli ai quali non era stato annunciato, e quelli che non ne avevano udito parlare comprenderanno.
22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;	22 Per questo appunto sono stato impedito molte volte di venire da voi;
23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-	23 ora però, non avendo più opportunità di lavoro in questa zona, e avendo da molti anni un desiderio ardente di venire da voi,
24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.	24 quando mi recherò in Spagna...; spero infatti di vedervi passando da voi e di essere da voi indirizzato colà, non prima, però, di aver assaporato un po' la vostra presenza.
25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,	25 Per ora mi metto in viaggio verso Gerusalemme per rendere un servizio ai santi.
26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.	26 E' parso bene, infatti, alla Macedonia e all'Acaia, di fare una colletta per i poveri che si trovano tra i santi in Gerusalemme.
27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.	27 E' parso loro bene, poiché sono anche debitori verso di essi. Se infatti i gentili sono venuti a far parte dei beni spirituali, devono rendere loro un servizio sacro nelle loro necessità materiali.
28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.	28 Quando avrò condotto a termine tutto questo e presentato loro ufficialmente questo frutto, mi recherò in Spagna, passando da voi.
29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.	29 So che, venendo tra voi, verrò con la pienezza della benedizione di Cristo.
30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;	30 Vi esorto poi, fratelli, per Gesù Cristo nostro Signore e per l'amore dello Spirito Santo, a lottare insieme a me, nelle preghiere che per me rivolgete a Dio,
31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.	31 affinché io sia liberato dagli increduli della Giudea, e affinché il servizio che io presto a Gerusalemme risulti gradito ai santi;
32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.	32 in modo che venendo a voi nella gioia, Dio voglia che possa riposarmi e rinfrancare il mio spirito con voi.
33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.	33 Che il Dio della pace sia con tutti voi. Amen.
