1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,	1 וּפֶטְרוֹס וְיוֹחָנָן עֹלִים יַחְדָּו אֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁ לְעֵת הַתְּפִלָּה בַּשָּׁעָה הַתְּשִׁיעִית
2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to puthim down every day near the Temple entrance cal ed the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the peoplegoing in.	2 וְאִישׁ אֶחָד פִּסֵּחַ מִבֶּטֶן אִמּוֹ מוּבָא שָׁמָּה אֲשֶׁר יוֹשִׁיבֻהוּ יוֹם יוֹם שַׁעַר הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הַנִּקְרָא שַׁעַר הַמְהֻדָּר לִשְׁאֹל מַתָּנוֹת מֵאֵת בָּאֵי הַמִּקְדָּשׁ
3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.	3 וַיְהִי כִרְאֹתוֹ אֶת־פֶּטְרוֹס וְאֶת־יוֹחָנָן בָּאִים אֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁ וַיְבַקֵּשׁ לָקַחַת מֵאִתָּם צְדָקָה
4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, 'Look at us.'	4 וַיִּסְתַּכֶּל־בּוֹ פֶּטְרוֹס וְגַם־יוֹחָנָן וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו הַבִּיטָה אֵלֵינוּ
5 He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them,	5 וַיָּשֶׂם פָּנָיו אֲלֵיהֶם בְּקַוֹּתוֹ לָקַחַת מֵאִתָּם דָּבָר
6 but Peter said, 'I have neither silver nor gold, but I wil give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christthe Nazarene, walk!'	6 וַיֹּאמֶר פֶּטְרוֹס כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב אֵין־לִי אֲבָל אֵת אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדִי אֶתְּנֶנּוּ לָךְ בְּשֵׁם־יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ הַנָּצְרִי קוּם הִתְהַלֵּךְ
7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles becamefirm,	7 וַיֹּאחֶז בְּיַד יְמִינוֹ וַיָּקֶם אוֹתוֹ וַיִּתְחַזְּקוּ פִתְאֹם רַגְלָיו וְקַרְסֻלָּיו
8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumpingand praising God.	8 וַיְקַפֵּץ וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ וַיָּבֹא אִתָּם אֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁ מִתְהַלֵּךְ וּמְרַקֵּד וּמְשַׁבֵּחַ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים
9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,	9 וַיִּרְאֵהוּ כָּל־הָעָם מִתְהַלֵּךְ וּמְשַׁבֵּחַ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים
10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. Theywere all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.	10 וַיַּכִּירוּ אוֹתוֹ כִּי הוּא אֲשֶׁר הָיָה ישֵׁב לִשְׁאֹל צְדָקָה בְּשַׁעַר הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הַמְהֻדָּר וַיִּמָּלְאוּ שַׁמָּה וְתִמָּהוֹן עַל־הַנַּעֲשָׂה לוֹ
11 Everyone came running towards them in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called,where the man was stil clinging to Peter and John.	11 וַיְהִי הוּא מַחֲזִיק בְּפֶטְרוֹס וּבְיוֹחָנָן וַיָּרָץ אֲלֵיהֶם כָּל־הָעָם אֶל־הָאוּלָם הַנִּקְרָא אוּלָם שֶׁל־שְׁלֹמֹה וַיִּשְׁתּוֹמֵמוּ
12 When Peter saw the people he addressed them, 'Men of Israel, why are you so surprised at this? Whyare you staring at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or holiness?	12 וַיַּרְא פֶּטְרוֹס וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הָעָם אַנְשֵׁי יִשְׂרָאֵל מָה אַתֶּם תְּמֵהִים עַל־זֹאת וּמַה־תִּסְתַּכְּלוּ בָנוּ כְּאִלּוּ אֲנַחְנוּ בְּכֹחֵנוּ וּבַחֲסִידוּתֵנוּ שַׂמְנוּ אֶת־זֶה מִתְהַלֵּךְ
13 It is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, who has glorified his servantJesus whom you handed over and then disowned in the presence of Pilate after he had given his verdict torelease him.	13 אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם אֱלֹהֵי יִצְחָק וֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ הוּא פֵּאֵר אֶת־עַבְדּוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם מְסַרְתֶּם אוֹתוֹ וְכִחַשְׁתֶּם בּוֹ בִּפְנֵי פִילָטוֹס כְּשֶׁהָיָה דָן לְפָטְרוֹ
14 It was you who accused the Holy and Upright One, you who demanded that a murderer should bereleased to you	14 אֲבָל אַתֶּם כִּחַשְׁתֶּם בַּקָּדוֹשׁ וּבַצַּדִּיק וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּם כִּי־יֻחַן לָכֶם אִישׁ רֹצֵחַ
15 while you killed the prince of life. God, however, raised him from the dead, and to that fact we are witnesses;	15 וְאֶת־שַׂר הַחַיִּים הֲרַגְתֶּם אֲשֶׁר הָאֱלֹהִים הֱקִימוֹ מִן־הַמֵּתִים וַאֲנַחְנוּ עֵדָיו
16 and it is the name of Jesus which, through faith in him, has brought back the strength of this manwhom you see here and who is wel known to you. It is faith in him that has restored this man to health, as youcan al see.	16 וּלְמַעַן אֱמוּנַת שְׁמוֹ חִזַּק שְׁמוֹ אֶת־הָאִישׁ הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם רֹאִים וּמַכִּירִים אֹתוֹ וְהָאֱמוּנָה אֲשֶׁר לָנוּ עַל־יָדוֹ הִיא הֶעֶלְתָה־לוֹ אֶת־הָאֲרֻכָה הַזֹּאת לְעֵינֵי כֻלְּכֶם
17 'Now I know, brothers, that neither you nor your leaders had any idea what you were real y doing;	17 וְעַתָּה אַחַי יֹדֵעַ אֲנִי כִּי בִבְלִי־דַעַת עֲשִׂיתֶם גַּם־אַתֶּם גַּם־רָאשֵׁיכֶם
18 but this was the way God carried out what he had foretold, when he said through all his prophets thathis Christ would suffer.	18 וְהָאֱלֹהִים כָּכָה מִלֵּא אֵת אֲשֶׁר־הִגִּיד מִקֶּדֶם בְּפִי כָל־נְבִיאָיו כִּי יְעֻנֶּה הַמָּשִׁיחַ
19 Now you must repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,	19 לָכֵן הִנָּחֲמוּ וָשׁוּבוּ וְיִמָּחוּ חֲטָאֵיכֶם
20 and so that the Lord may send the time of comfort. Then he wil send you the Christ he haspredestined, that is Jesus,	20 לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר־יָבֹאוּ יְמֵי רְוָחָה מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָֹה וְיִשְׁלַח אֶת־אֲשֶׁר בִּשְׂרוֹ מִקֶּדֶם אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ
21 whom heaven must keep til the universal restoration comes which God proclaimed, speaking throughhis holy prophets.	21 אֲשֶׁר צָרִיךְ כִּי יְקַבְּלֻהוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם עַד־יְמֵי שׁוּב כָּל־הַדְּבָרִים לְתִקּוּנָם אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר עֲלֵיהֶם הָאֱלֹהִים בְּפִי־נְבִיאָיו הַקְּדוֹשִׁים מִימֵי עוֹלָם
22 Moses, for example, said, "From among your brothers the Lord God wil raise up for you a prophet likeme; you wil listen to whatever he tells you.	22 הֵן משֶׁה אָמַר אֶל־אֲבוֹתֵינוּ נָבִיא יָקִים לָכֶם יְהוָֹה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם מִקֶּרֶב אֲחֵיכֶם כָּמֹנִי אֵלָיו תִּשְׁמָעוּן כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיכֶם
23 Anyone who refuses to listen to that prophet shal be cut off from the people."	23 וְהָיָה כָּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא תִשְׁמַע אֶל־הַנָּבִיא הַהוּא וְנִכְרְתָה מֵעַמֶּיהָ
24 In fact, al the prophets that have ever spoken, from Samuel onwards, have predicted these days.	24 וְגַם כָּל־הַנְּבִיאִים מִשְּׁמוּאֵל וַאֲשֶׁר נִבְּאוּ אַחֲרָיו כֻּלָּם הִגִּידוּ מֵרֹאשׁ אֶת־הַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה
25 'You are the heirs of the prophets, the heirs of the covenant God made with your ancestors when hetold Abraham, "Al the nations of the earth will be blessed in your descendants".	25 אַתֶּם בְּנֵי הַנְּבִיאִים וּבְנֵי הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר כָּרַת הָאֱלֹהִים עִם־אֲבוֹתֵינוּ בְּאָמְרוֹ אֶל־אַבְרָהָם וְנִבְרְכוּ בְזַרְעֲךָ כֹּל מִשְׁפְּחוֹת הָאֲדָמָה
26 It was for you in the first place that God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you as every one ofyou turns from his wicked ways.'	26 לָכֶם בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה הֶעֱמִיד הָאֱלֹהִים אֶת־עַבְדוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּשְׁלָחֵהוּ לְבָרֵךְ אֶתְכֶם בְּשׁוּבְכֶם כָּל־אִישׁ מֵרֹעַ מַעַלְלֵיכֶם
