1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,	1 ופטרוס ויוחנן עלים יחדו אל המקדש לעת התפלה בשעה התשיעית
2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to puthim down every day near the Temple entrance cal ed the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the peoplegoing in.	2 ואיש אחד פסח מבטן אמו מובא שמה אשר יושיבהו יום יום שער המקדש הנקרא שער המהדר לשאל מתנות מאת באי המקדש
3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.	3 ויהי כראותו את פטרוס ואת יוחנן באים אל המקדש ויבקש לקחת מאתם צדקה
4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, 'Look at us.'	4 ויסתכל בו פטרוס וגם יוחנן ויאמר אליו הביטה אלינו
5 He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them,	5 וישם פניו אליהם בקותו לקחת מאתם דבר
6 but Peter said, 'I have neither silver nor gold, but I wil give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christthe Nazarene, walk!'	6 ויאמר פטרוס כסף וזהב אין לי אבל את אשר בידי אתננו לך בשם ישוע המשיח הנצרי קום התהלך
7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles becamefirm,	7 ויאחז ביד ימינו ויקם אותו ויתחזקו פתאם רגליו וקרסליו
8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumpingand praising God.	8 ויקפץ ויתהלך ויבא אתם אל המקדש מתהלך ומרקד ומשבח את האלהים
9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,	9 ויראהו כל העם מתהלך ומשבח את האלהים
10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. Theywere all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.	10 ויכירו אותו כי הוא אשר היה ישב לשאל צדקה בשער המקדש המהדר וימלאו שמה ושממון על הנעשה לו
11 Everyone came running towards them in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called,where the man was stil clinging to Peter and John.	11 ויהי הוא מחזיק בפטרוס וביוחנן וירץ אליהם כל העם אל האולם הנקרא אולם של שלמה וישתוממו
12 When Peter saw the people he addressed them, 'Men of Israel, why are you so surprised at this? Whyare you staring at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or holiness?	12 וירא פטרוס ויען ויאמר אל העם אנשי ישראל מה אתם תמהים על זאת ומה תסתכלו בנו כאלו אנחנו בכחנו ובחסידותנו שמנו את זה מתהלך
13 It is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, who has glorified his servantJesus whom you handed over and then disowned in the presence of Pilate after he had given his verdict torelease him.	13 אלהי אברהם אלהי יצחק ואלהי יעקב אלהי אבותינו הוא פאר את עבדו ישוע אשר אתם מסרתם אותו וכחשתם בו בפני פילטוס כשהיה דן לפטרו
14 It was you who accused the Holy and Upright One, you who demanded that a murderer should bereleased to you	14 אבל אתם כחשתם בקדוש ובצדיק ובקשתם כי יחן לכם איש רצח
15 while you killed the prince of life. God, however, raised him from the dead, and to that fact we are witnesses;	15 ואת שר החיים הרגתם אשר האלהים הקימו מן המתים ואנחנו עדיו
16 and it is the name of Jesus which, through faith in him, has brought back the strength of this manwhom you see here and who is wel known to you. It is faith in him that has restored this man to health, as youcan al see.	16 ולמען אמונת שמו חזק שמו את האיש הזה אשר אתם ראים ומכירים אתו והאמונה אשר לנו על ידו היא העלתה לו את הארכה הזאת לעיני כלכם
17 'Now I know, brothers, that neither you nor your leaders had any idea what you were real y doing;	17 ועתה אחי ידע אני כי בבלי דעת עשיתם גם אתם גם ראשיכם
18 but this was the way God carried out what he had foretold, when he said through all his prophets thathis Christ would suffer.	18 והאלהים ככה מלא את אשר הגיד מקדם בפי כל נביאיו כי יענה המשיח
19 Now you must repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,	19 לכן הנחמו ושובו וימחו חטאיכם
20 and so that the Lord may send the time of comfort. Then he wil send you the Christ he haspredestined, that is Jesus,	20 למען אשר יבאו ימי רוחה מלפני יהוה וישלח את אשר בשרו לכם מקדם את ישוע המשיח
21 whom heaven must keep til the universal restoration comes which God proclaimed, speaking throughhis holy prophets.	21 אשר צריך כי יקבלהו השמים עד ימי שוב כל הדברים לתקונם אשר דבר עליהם האלהים בפי נביאיו הקדושים מימי עולם
22 Moses, for example, said, "From among your brothers the Lord God wil raise up for you a prophet likeme; you wil listen to whatever he tells you.	22 הן משה אמר אל אבותינו נביא יקים לכם יהוה אלהיכם מקרב אחיכם כמני אליו תשמעון ככל אשר ידבר אליכם
23 Anyone who refuses to listen to that prophet shal be cut off from the people."	23 והיה כל הנפש אשר לא תשמע אל הנביא ההוא ונכרתה מעמיה
24 In fact, al the prophets that have ever spoken, from Samuel onwards, have predicted these days.	24 וגם כל הנביאים משמואל ואשר נבאו אחריו כלם הגידו מראש את הימים האלה
25 'You are the heirs of the prophets, the heirs of the covenant God made with your ancestors when hetold Abraham, "Al the nations of the earth will be blessed in your descendants".	25 אתם בני הנביאים ובני הברית אשר כרת האלהים עם אבותינו באמרו אל אברהם ונברכו בזרעך כל משפחות האדמה
26 It was for you in the first place that God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you as every one ofyou turns from his wicked ways.'	26 לכם בראשונה העמיד האלהים את עבדו ישוע וישלחהו לברך אתכם בשובכם כל איש מרע מעלליכם
