1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,	1 Petrus und Johannes gingen um die neunte Stunde zum Gebet in den Tempel hinauf.
2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to puthim down every day near the Temple entrance cal ed the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the peoplegoing in.	2 Da wurde ein Mann herbeigetragen, der von Geburt an gelähmt war. Man setzte ihn täglich an das Tor des Tempels, das man die Schöne Pforte nennt; dort sollte er bei denen, die in den Tempel gingen, um Almosen betteln.
3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.	3 Als er nun Petrus und Johannes in den Tempel gehen sah, bat er sie um ein Almosen.
4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, 'Look at us.'	4 Petrus und Johannes blickten ihn an und Petrus sagte: Sieh uns an!
5 He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them,	5 Da wandte er sich ihnen zu und erwartete, etwas von ihnen zu bekommen.
6 but Peter said, 'I have neither silver nor gold, but I wil give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christthe Nazarene, walk!'	6 Petrus aber sagte: Silber und Gold besitze ich nicht. Doch was ich habe, das gebe ich dir: Im Namen Jesu Christi, des Nazoräers, geh umher!
7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles becamefirm,	7 Und er fasste ihn an der rechten Hand und richtete ihn auf. Sogleich kam Kraft in seine Füße und Gelenke;
8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumpingand praising God.	8 er sprang auf, konnte stehen und ging umher. Dann ging er mit ihnen in den Tempel, lief und sprang umher und lobte Gott.
9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,	9 Alle Leute sahen ihn umhergehen und Gott loben.
10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. Theywere all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.	10 Sie erkannten ihn als den, der gewöhnlich an der Schönen Pforte des Tempels saß und bettelte. Und sie waren voll Verwunderung und Staunen über das, was mit ihm geschehen war.
11 Everyone came running towards them in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called,where the man was stil clinging to Peter and John.	11 Da er sich Petrus und Johannes anschloss, lief das ganze Volk bei ihnen in der sogenannten Halle Salomos zusammen, außer sich vor Staunen.
12 When Peter saw the people he addressed them, 'Men of Israel, why are you so surprised at this? Whyare you staring at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or holiness?	12 Als Petrus das sah, wandte er sich an das Volk: Israeliten, was wundert ihr euch darüber? Was starrt ihr uns an, als hätten wir aus eigener Kraft oder Frömmigkeit bewirkt, dass dieser gehen kann?
13 It is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, who has glorified his servantJesus whom you handed over and then disowned in the presence of Pilate after he had given his verdict torelease him.	13 Der Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs, der Gott unserer Väter, hat seinen Knecht Jesus verherrlicht, den ihr verraten und vor Pilatus verleugnet habt, obwohl dieser entschieden hatte, ihn freizulassen.
14 It was you who accused the Holy and Upright One, you who demanded that a murderer should bereleased to you	14 Ihr aber habt den Heiligen und Gerechten verleugnet und die Freilassung eines Mörders gefordert.
15 while you killed the prince of life. God, however, raised him from the dead, and to that fact we are witnesses;	15 Den Urheber des Lebens habt ihr getötet, aber Gott hat ihn von den Toten auferweckt. Dafür sind wir Zeugen.
16 and it is the name of Jesus which, through faith in him, has brought back the strength of this manwhom you see here and who is wel known to you. It is faith in him that has restored this man to health, as youcan al see.	16 Und weil er an seinen Namen geglaubt hat, hat dieser Name den Mann hier, den ihr seht und kennt, zu Kräften gebracht; der Glaube, der durch ihn kommt, hat ihm vor euer aller Augen die volle Gesundheit geschenkt.
17 'Now I know, brothers, that neither you nor your leaders had any idea what you were real y doing;	17 Nun, Brüder, ich weiß, ihr habt aus Unwissenheit gehandelt, ebenso wie eure Führer.
18 but this was the way God carried out what he had foretold, when he said through all his prophets thathis Christ would suffer.	18 Gott aber hat auf diese Weise erfüllt, was er durch den Mund aller Propheten im voraus verkündigt hat: dass sein Messias leiden werde.
19 Now you must repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,	19 Also kehrt um und tut Buße, damit eure Sünden getilgt werden
20 and so that the Lord may send the time of comfort. Then he wil send you the Christ he haspredestined, that is Jesus,	20 und der Herr Zeiten des Aufatmens kommen lässt und Jesus sendet als den für euch bestimmten Messias.
21 whom heaven must keep til the universal restoration comes which God proclaimed, speaking throughhis holy prophets.	21 Ihn muss freilich der Himmel aufnehmen bis zu den Zeiten der Wiederherstellung von allem, die Gott von jeher durch den Mund seiner heiligen Propheten verkündet hat.
22 Moses, for example, said, "From among your brothers the Lord God wil raise up for you a prophet likeme; you wil listen to whatever he tells you.	22 Mose hat gesagt: Einen Propheten wie mich wird euch der Herr, euer Gott, aus euren Brüdern erwecken. Auf ihn sollt ihr hören in allem, was er zu euch sagt.
23 Anyone who refuses to listen to that prophet shal be cut off from the people."	23 Jeder, der auf jenen Propheten nicht hört, wird aus dem Volk ausgemerzt werden.
24 In fact, al the prophets that have ever spoken, from Samuel onwards, have predicted these days.	24 Und auch alle Propheten von Samuel an und alle, die später auftraten, haben diese Tage angekündigt.
25 'You are the heirs of the prophets, the heirs of the covenant God made with your ancestors when hetold Abraham, "Al the nations of the earth will be blessed in your descendants".	25 Ihr seid die Söhne der Propheten und des Bundes, den Gott mit euren Vätern geschlossen hat, als er zu Abraham sagte: Durch deinen Nachkommen sollen alle Geschlechter der Erde Segen erlangen.
26 It was for you in the first place that God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you as every one ofyou turns from his wicked ways.'	26 Für euch zuerst hat Gott seinen Knecht erweckt und gesandt, damit er euch segnet und jeden von seiner Bosheit abbringt.
