1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,	1 Péter és János pedig felmentek a templomba a kilenc órai imádság idején.
2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to puthim down every day near the Temple entrance cal ed the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the peoplegoing in.	2 Ekkor egy férfit vittek arra, aki születésétől fogva béna volt. Naponta odatették a templomnak az úgynevezett Ékes-kapujához, hogy a templomba jövőktől alamizsnát kérjen.
3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.	3 Amikor Pétert és Jánost meglátta, amint a templomba készültek bemenni, könyörgött, hogy alamizsnát kapjon.
4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, 'Look at us.'	4 Péter Jánossal együtt reátekintett, és azt mondta: »Nézz ránk!«

7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles becamefirm,	7 Azzal megfogta jobb kezénél, és fölemelte. Erre annak azonnal erő szállt a lábába és talpába,
8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumpingand praising God.	8 úgyhogy felugrott, állt és járt-kelt. Bement velük a templomba, járkált, ugrándozott, és dicsérte az Istent.
9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,	9 Az egész nép látta, hogy jár, és Istent magasztalja.
10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. Theywere all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.	10 Ráismertek, hogy ő az, aki alamizsnáért üldögélt a templom Ékes-kapujánál. 11 Everyone came running towards them in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called,where the man was stil clinging to Peter and John.	11 Mivel nem tágított Péter és János mellől, az egész nép csodálkozva futott hozzájuk az úgynevezett Salamon-csarnokba.
12 When Peter saw the people he addressed them, 'Men of Israel, why are you so surprised at this? Whyare you staring at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or holiness?	12 Amikor Péter látta ezt, így szólt a néphez: »Izraelita férfiak! Miért csodálkoztok ezen és miért ámultok rajtunk, mintha a magunk erejéből vagy hatalmából tettük volna, hogy ez jár?
13 It is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, who has glorified his servantJesus whom you handed over and then disowned in the presence of Pilate after he had given his verdict torelease him.	13 Ábrahám Istene, Izsák Istene és Jákob Istene, a mi atyáink Istene megdicsőítette Fiát, Jézust, akit ti kiszolgáltattatok ugyan és megtagadtatok Pilátus színe előtt, bár az úgy döntött, hogy szabadon bocsátja őt.

15 while you killed the prince of life. God, however, raised him from the dead, and to that fact we are witnesses;	15 az élet szerzőjét pedig megöltétek, de Isten feltámasztotta őt a halálból. Ennek mi tanúi vagyunk.
16 and it is the name of Jesus which, through faith in him, has brought back the strength of this manwhom you see here and who is wel known to you. It is faith in him that has restored this man to health, as youcan al see.	16 Az ő neve adott erőt a nevében való hit által ennek az embernek, akit ti láttok és ismertek, s a tőle származó hit adta meg neki ezt az ép egészséget mindnyájatok szeme láttára.
17 'Now I know, brothers, that neither you nor your leaders had any idea what you were real y doing;	17 Tudom azonban, testvérek, hogy tudatlanságból cselekedtetek, mint ahogy a ti elöljáróitok is.
18 but this was the way God carried out what he had foretold, when he said through all his prophets thathis Christ would suffer.	18 Isten azonban ily módon teljesítette, amit minden prófétájának ajka által előre hirdetett, hogy az ő Krisztusa szenvedni fog.
19 Now you must repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,	19 Tartsatok tehát bűnbánatot és térjetek meg, hogy eltöröljék bűneiteket,
20 and so that the Lord may send the time of comfort. Then he wil send you the Christ he haspredestined, that is Jesus,	20 s hogy az enyhülés idői eljöjjenek az Úr színétől, és elküldje azt, akit hirdettek nektek, Jézus Krisztust.
21 whom heaven must keep til the universal restoration comes which God proclaimed, speaking throughhis holy prophets.	21 Őt ugyan az égnek kell befogadnia minden dolog helyreállításának az idejéig, amelyről Isten szólt századok óta szent prófétáinak ajka által.
22 Moses, for example, said, "From among your brothers the Lord God wil raise up for you a prophet likeme; you wil listen to whatever he tells you.	22 Mózes ugyanis megmondta, hogy ‘Uratok, Istenetek hozzám hasonló prófétát támaszt majd nektek testvéreitek közül, őt hallgassátok mindenben, amit mond majd nektek .
23 Anyone who refuses to listen to that prophet shal be cut off from the people."	23 Az történik ugyanis, hogy mindenkit, aki nem hallgatja ezt a prófétát, kiirtanak a nép közül’ .
24 In fact, al the prophets that have ever spoken, from Samuel onwards, have predicted these days.	24 A próféták, akik szóltak Sámueltől kezdve és azután, mind hirdették ezeket a napokat.
25 'You are the heirs of the prophets, the heirs of the covenant God made with your ancestors when hetold Abraham, "Al the nations of the earth will be blessed in your descendants".	25 Ti vagytok a prófétáknak és a szövetségnek fiai, amelyet Isten atyáinkkal kötött, amikor Ábrahámnak azt mondta: ‘A te utódodban nyer áldást a föld minden nemzetsége’ .
26 It was for you in the first place that God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you as every one ofyou turns from his wicked ways.'	26 Isten elsősorban számotokra támasztotta s küldte el Fiát, hogy megáldjon titeket, és így mindenki megtérjen gonoszságából.«
