1 It was very early on the first day of the week and stil dark, when Mary of Magdala came to the tomb.She saw that the stone had been moved away from the tomb	1 - Il primo giorno poi della settimana Maria Maddalena si recò al sepolcro di prima mattina, mentre era ancora buio e, vista la pietra rimossa dal sepolcro,
2 and came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. 'They have takenthe Lord out of the tomb,' she said, 'and we don't know where they have put him.'	2 corse e venne da Simon Pietro dall'altro discepolo che Gesù amava e disse loro: «Han levato dal sepolcro il Signore, e non sappiamo dove l'abbiano posto».
3 So Peter set out with the other disciple to go to the tomb.	3 Pietro e l'altro discepolo uscirono quindi e andarono al sepolcro.
4 They ran together, but the other disciple, running faster than Peter, reached the tomb first;	4 Correvano tutt'e due insieme, ma l'altro discepolo fece più presto di Pietro e arrivò primo al sepolcro,
5 he bent down and saw the linen cloths lying on the ground, but did not go in.	5 e chinatosi, vide i lini per terra, ma non entrò.
6 Simon Peter, fol owing him, also came up, went into the tomb, saw the linen cloths lying on the ground	6 Intanto Simon Pietro, che lo seguiva, giunse anch'egli, entrò nel sepolcro e vide deposti i lini,
7 and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was not with the linen cloths but rolled up in aplace by itself.	7 e il sudario, ch'era stato sul capo di lui, non posto però tra i lini, ma piegato e messo da parte.
8 Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in; he saw and he believed.	8 Allora entrò anche l'altro discepolo che era giunto prima al sepolcro, e vide e credette.
9 Til this moment they had stil not understood the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.	9 Perchè ancora non sapevano la Scrittura, ch'egli doveva risuscitare dai morti.
10 The disciples then went back home.	10 I discepoli dunque se ne andarono di nuovo a casa.
11 But Mary was standing outside near the tomb, weeping. Then, as she wept, she stooped to lookinside,	11 Maria, invece, piangente, se ne stava fuori presso il sepolcro. Mentre dunque piangeva, si chinò per guardare dentro al sepolcro
12 and saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been, one at the head, the other atthe feet.	12 e vide due angeli vestiti di bianco, seduti là dov'era stato posto il corpo di Gesù, uno a capo e l'altro ai piedi.
13 They said, 'Woman, why are you weeping?' 'They have taken my Lord away,' she replied, 'and I don'tknow where they have put him.'	13 Ed essi le dissero: «Donna, perchè piangi?». Ella rispose loro: «Perchè hanno preso il mio Signore, e non so dove l'abbiano posto».
14 As she said this she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not realise that itwas Jesus.	14 Nel dir questo si voltò indietro e vide ritto in piedi Gesù, senza però conoscere ch'era Gesù.
15 Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?' Supposing him to be thegardener, she said, 'Sir, if you have taken him away, tel me where you have put him, and I will go and removehim.'	15 Gesù le domandò: «Donna, perchè piangi? Chi cerchi?». Ella, credendolo l'ortolano, gli rispose: «Signore, se tu l'hai portato via, dimmi ove l'hai messo ed io lo prenderò».
16 Jesus said, 'Mary!' She turned round then and said to him in Hebrew, 'Rabbuni!' -- which meansMaster.	16 Gesù le disse: «Maria!». Ed ella, voltatasi, esclamò: «Rabboni» (che significa "Maestro").
17 Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to thebrothers, and tell them: I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'	17 Gesù le disse: «Non mi toccare, perchè non sono ancora salito al Padre mio. Va' dai miei fratelli, e di' loro che salgo al Padre mio e Padre vostro, Dio mio e Dio vostro».
18 So Mary of Magdala told the disciples, 'I have seen the Lord,' and that he had said these things toher.	18 Maria Maddalena andò ad annunziare ai discepoli che aveva veduto il Signore e le aveva detto queste cose.
19 In the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, the doors were closed in the room wherethe disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, 'Peace be withyou,'	19 Venuta la sera di quel giorno, il primo della settimana, essendo, per paura dei Giudei, chiuse le porte del luogo dove si trovavano i discepoli, venne Gesù e fermatosi in mezzo disse: «La pace sia con voi!».
20 and, after saying this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy atseeing the Lord,	20 Dopo di che mostrò loro le mani ed il costato. I discepoli vedendo il Signore gioirono.
21 and he said to them again, 'Peace be with you. 'As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.'	21 Gesù poi aggiunse: «La pace sia con voi! Come il Padre ha mandato me, anch'io mando voi».
22 After saying this he breathed on them and said: Receive the Holy Spirit.	22 E detto questo, soffiò su loro, e disse: «Ricevete lo Spirito Santo.
23 If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone's sins, they are retained.	23 A chi rimetterete i peccati, saranno rimessi, e da chi li riterrete, saranno ritenuti».
24 Thomas, cal ed the Twin, who was one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.	24 Ma Tommaso poi, chiamato Didimo, uno dei Dodici, non era con loro, quando venne Gesù.
25 So the other disciples said to him, 'We have seen the Lord,' but he answered, 'Unless I can see theholes that the nails made in his hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put myhand into his side, I refuse to believe.'	25 Gli altri discepoli però gli dissero: «Abbiamo visto il Signore». Ma egli rispose: «Se non gli vedo nelle mani il foro dei chiodi, e non metto il mio dito nel posto dei chiodi, e non metto la mia mano nel suo costato, non credo».
26 Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors wereclosed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. 'Peace be with you,' he said.	26 Otto giorni dopo, i discepoli si trovarono di nuovo là dentro e Tommaso era con loro. Gesù venne a porte chiuse, e presentatosi in mezzo a loro, disse: «La pace sia con voi».
27 Then he spoke to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put itinto my side. Do not be unbelieving any more but believe.'	27 Poi rivoltosi a Tommaso soggiunse: «Metti qua il tuo dito e guarda le mie mani! Accosta anche la tua mano e mettila nel mio costato; e non voler essere incredulo, ma fedele».
28 Thomas replied, 'My Lord and my God!'	28 Tommaso gli rispose: «Signore mio e Dio mio!».
29 Jesus said to him: You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen andyet believe.	29 Soggiunse Gesù: «Tommaso, hai creduto perchè hai visto; beati coloro che hanno creduto e non videro».
30 There were many other signs that Jesus worked in the sight of the disciples, but they are notrecorded in this book.	30 Ora Gesù fece alla presenza dei suoi discepoli molti miracoli, che non sono scritti in questo libro;
31 These are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and thatbelieving this you may have life through his name.	31 ma queste cose sono scritte affinchè crediate che Gesù è il Cristo, Figliuol di Dio, e credendo abbiate nel suo nome la vita.
