NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 It was very early on the first day of the week and stil dark, when Mary of Magdala came to the tomb.She saw that the stone had been moved away from the tomb	1 Il primo giorno della settimana Maria Maddalena si recò di buon mattino al sepolcro, mentre era ancora buio, e vide la pietra rimossa dal sepolcro.
2 and came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. 'They have takenthe Lord out of the tomb,' she said, 'and we don't know where they have put him.'	2 Corse allora e andò da Simon Pietro e dall'altro discepolo che Gesù amava e disse loro: "Hanno portato via il Signore e non sappiamo dove l'abbiano posto".
3 So Peter set out with the other disciple to go to the tomb.	3 Partì dunque Pietro e anche l'altro discepolo e si avviarono verso il sepolcro.
4 They ran together, but the other disciple, running faster than Peter, reached the tomb first;	4 Correvano ambedue insieme, ma l'altro discepolo precedette Pietro nella corsa e arrivò primo al sepolcro.
5 he bent down and saw the linen cloths lying on the ground, but did not go in.	5 Chinatosi, vide le bende che giacevano distese; tuttavia non entrò.
6 Simon Peter, fol owing him, also came up, went into the tomb, saw the linen cloths lying on the ground	6 Arrivò poi anche Simon Pietro che lo seguiva ed entrò nel sepolcro; vide le bende che giacevano distese
7 and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was not with the linen cloths but rolled up in aplace by itself.	7 e il sudario che era sopra il capo; esso non stava assieme alle bende, ma a parte, ripiegato in un angolo.
8 Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in; he saw and he believed.	8 Allora entrò anche l'altro discepolo ch'era arrivato per primo al sepolcro, e vide e credette.
9 Til this moment they had stil not understood the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.	9 Non avevano infatti ancora capito la Scrittura: che egli doveva risuscitare dai morti.
10 The disciples then went back home.	10 I discepoli poi ritornarono a casa.
11 But Mary was standing outside near the tomb, weeping. Then, as she wept, she stooped to lookinside,	11 Maria invece era rimasta presso il sepolcro, fuori, in pianto. Mentre piangeva, si chinò verso il sepolcro
12 and saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been, one at the head, the other atthe feet.	12 e vide due angeli biancovestiti, seduti: uno in corrispondenza del capo e l'altro dei piedi, dove era stato posto il corpo di Gesù.
13 They said, 'Woman, why are you weeping?' 'They have taken my Lord away,' she replied, 'and I don'tknow where they have put him.'	13 Essi le dissero: "Donna, perché piangi?". Rispose loro: "Hanno portato via il mio Signore e non so dove l'abbiano posto".
14 As she said this she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not realise that itwas Jesus.	14 Detto ciò, si voltò indietro, e vide Gesù che stava lì, ma non sapeva che era Gesù.
15 Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?' Supposing him to be thegardener, she said, 'Sir, if you have taken him away, tel me where you have put him, and I will go and removehim.'	15 Egli le disse: "Donna, perché piangi? Chi cerchi?". Quella, pensando che fosse l'ortolano, rispose: "Signore, se lo hai portato via tu, dimmi dove lo hai posto e io andrò a prenderlo".
16 Jesus said, 'Mary!' She turned round then and said to him in Hebrew, 'Rabbuni!' -- which meansMaster.	16 Le disse Gesù: "Maria!". Quella, voltatasi, gli disse in ebraico: "Rabbunì!" (che significa "maestro").
17 Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to thebrothers, and tell them: I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'	17 Gesù le disse: "Non mi trattenere, perché non sono ancora salito al Padre. Va' piuttosto dai miei fratelli e di' loro: "Salgo al Padre mio e Padre vostro, al Dio mio e Dio vostro".
18 So Mary of Magdala told the disciples, 'I have seen the Lord,' and that he had said these things toher.	18 Maria Maddalena andò ad annunciare ai discepoli: "Ho visto il Signore", e quanto le aveva detto.
19 In the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, the doors were closed in the room wherethe disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, 'Peace be withyou,'	19 La sera di quello stesso giorno, il primo della settimana, mentre le porte del luogo dove si trovavano i discepoli per paura dei Giudei erano chiuse, venne Gesù, stette in mezzo a loro e disse: "Pace a voi!".
20 and, after saying this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy atseeing the Lord,	20 E, detto questo, mostrò loro le mani e il fianco. Si rallegrarono i discepoli, vedendo il Signore.
21 and he said to them again, 'Peace be with you. 'As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.'	21 Poi disse di nuovo: "Pace a voi! Come il Padre ha mandato me, così io mando voi".
22 After saying this he breathed on them and said: Receive the Holy Spirit.	22 Detto ciò, soffiò su di loro e disse loro: "Ricevete lo Spirito Santo:
23 If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone's sins, they are retained.	23 a chi rimettete i peccati, sono loro rimessi; a chi li ritenete, sono ritenuti".
24 Thomas, cal ed the Twin, who was one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.	24 Tommaso, uno dei Dodici, chiamato Didimo, non era con loro quando venne Gesù.
25 So the other disciples said to him, 'We have seen the Lord,' but he answered, 'Unless I can see theholes that the nails made in his hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put myhand into his side, I refuse to believe.'	25 Gli dissero gli altri discepoli: "Abbiamo visto il Signore!". Ma egli rispose loro: "Se non vedo nelle sue mani il segno dei chiodi e non metto il mio dito nel segno dei chiodi, e non metto la mia mano nel suo fianco, non crederò".
26 Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors wereclosed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. 'Peace be with you,' he said.	26 Otto giorni dopo i suoi discepoli erano di nuovo in casa e Tommaso stava con loro. Viene Gesù a porte chiuse, stette in mezzo a loro e disse: "Pace a voi!".
27 Then he spoke to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put itinto my side. Do not be unbelieving any more but believe.'	27 Poi disse a Tommaso: "Metti il tuo dito qui e guarda le mie mani, porgi la tua mano e mettila nel mio fianco, e non essere più incredulo, ma credente".
28 Thomas replied, 'My Lord and my God!'	28 Rispose Tommaso e gli disse: "Signore mio e Dio mio!".
29 Jesus said to him: You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen andyet believe.	29 Gli disse Gesù: "Perché mi hai visto hai creduto? Beati coloro che hanno creduto senza vedere!".
30 There were many other signs that Jesus worked in the sight of the disciples, but they are notrecorded in this book.	30 Gesù in presenza dei discepoli fece ancora molti altri segni, che non sono scritti in questo libro.
31 These are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and thatbelieving this you may have life through his name.	31 Questi sono stati scritti affinché crediate che Gesù è il Cristo, il Figlio di Dio, e, credendo, abbiate la vita nel suo nome.
