Deuteronomy 6

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 'Such, then, are the commandments, the laws and the customs which Yahweh your God has instructedme to teach you, for you to observe in the country which you are on your way to possess.	1 - Questi sono i comandamenti e le prescrizioni e le leggi, che il Signore Dio vostro m'ha intimato d'insegnarvi, acciò le eseguiate nella terra alla quale dovete passare per possederla.
2 And hence, if, throughout your lives, you fear Yahweh your God and keep al his laws andcommandments, which I am laying down for you today, you wil live long, you and your child and your grandchild.	2 Che tu tema il Signore Dio tuo, che tu osservi tutti i suoi comandamenti e precetti, quali io prescrivo a te, a' tuoi figli e nipoti, per tutto il tempo della tua vita, acciò si prolunghino i tuoi giorni.
3 Listen then, Israel, keep and observe what wil make you prosperous and numerous, as Yahweh, Godof your ancestors, has promised you, in giving you a country flowing with milk and honey.	3 Ascolta, Israele; osserva ed eseguisci quello che il Signore t'ha comandato, acciò venga a te bene e tu ti moltiplichi sempre più, come il Signore Dio dei tuoi padri t'ha promesso, in una terra ove scorrono il latte ed il miele.
4 'Listen, Israel: Yahweh our God is the one, the only Yahweh.	4 Ascolta, Israele: il Signore Dio nostro è il solo Signore.
5 You must love Yahweh your God with al your heart, with al your soul, with al your strength.	5 Amerai il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima, con tutte le tue forze.
6 Let the words I enjoin on you today stay in your heart.	6 Queste parole che io oggi ti bandisco, staranno nel tuo cuore,
7 You shal tel them to your children, and keep on tel ing them, when you are sitting at home, when youare out and about, when you are lying down and when you are standing up;	7 e le ripeterai ai tuoi figliuoli, e le mediterai tanto sedendo in casa tua quanto camminando per viaggio, quando andrai a dormire e quando ti leverai;
8 you must fasten them on your hand as a sign and on your forehead as a headband;	8 le legherai come segno alla tua mano, e staranno e si muoveranno sotto ai tuoi occhi,
9 you must write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.	9 e le scriverai sulle soglie e sulla porta di casa tua.
10 'When Yahweh has brought you into the country which he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaacand Jacob that he would give you, with great and prosperous cities you have not built,	10 Quando il Signore Dio tuo ti avrà introdotto nella terra per la quale egli fece giuramento ad Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe tuoi padri, e t'avrà dato città grandi e bellissime che tu non edificasti,
11 with houses full of good things you have not provided, with wel s you have not dug, with vineyards andolive trees you have not planted, and then, when you have eaten as much as you want,	11 case piene d'ogni ricchezza che tu non costruisti, cisterne che tu non scavasti, vigne ed oliveti che tu non piantasti,
12 be careful you do not forget Yahweh who has brought you out of Egypt, out of the place of slave-labour.	12 e ne mangerai e te ne sazierai;
13 Yahweh your God is the one you must fear, him alone you must serve, his is the name by which youmust swear.	13 bada bene di non ti dimenticare del Signore che ti cavò dall'Egitto, dal luogo di schiavitù. Temerai il Signore Dio tuo, a lui solo servirai, e [solo] per il nome di lui giurerai.
14 'Do not fol ow other gods, gods of the peoples round you,	14 Non andrete dietro a dèi stranieri, di nessuna delle genti che stanno d'intorno a voi;
15 for Yahweh your God among you is a jealous God; the wrath of Yahweh your God would blaze outagainst you, and he would wipe you off the face of the earth.	15 perchè il Signore Dio tuo che sta in mezzo a voi è un Dio geloso; acciò non s'accenda contro di te lo sdegno del Signore Dio tuo, e ti scancelli di sulla faccia della terra.
16 Do not put Yahweh your God to the test as you tested him at Massah.	16 Non tenterai il Signore Dio tuo, come lo tentasti nel luogo della Tentazione.
17 Keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and his instructions and laws which he has laid downfor you,	17 Custodisci i comandamenti del Signore Dio tuo, le leggi e le cerimonie che t'ha imposte,
18 and do what Yahweh regards as right and good, so that you may prosper and take possession of thefine country which Yahweh swore to give your ancestors,	18 e fai quello che è gradito e buono al cospetto del Signore, acciò bene te ne venga, e tu entri al possesso di quella terra felice, della quale il Signore giurò a' tuoi padri
19 driving out your enemies before you; such was Yahweh's promise.	19 che disperderebbe dinanzi a te tutt'i tuoi nemici, come ha detto.
20 'In times to come, when your child asks you, "What is the meaning of these instructions, laws andcustoms which Yahweh our God has laid down for you?"	20 E quando in avvenire il tuo figliuolo t'interrogherà, e dirà: - Che cosa significano questi comandamenti e cerimonie e leggi che il Signor nostro ci ha imposto?-
21 you are to tel your child, "Once we were Pharaoh's slaves in Egypt, and Yahweh brought us out ofEgypt by his mighty hand.	21 gli dirai: - Noi eravamo schiavi del Faraone in Egitto, ed il Signore ci condusse via dall'Egitto con mano potente,
22 Before our eyes, Yahweh worked great and terrible signs and wonders against Egypt, againstPharaoh and his entire household.	22 e fece portenti e prodigi grandi e terribili in Egitto contro il Faraone e tutta la sua casa, sotto i nostri occhi,
23 And he brought us out of there, to lead us into the country which he had sworn to our ancestors thathe would give us.	23 e ci condusse via di lì per introdurci nella terra che egli ai padri nostri aveva giurato di darci.
24 And Yahweh has commanded us to observe all these laws and to fear Yahweh our God, so as to behappy for ever and to survive, as we do to this day.	24 Il Signore ci comandò d'osservare tutte queste leggi, e di temer il Signore Dio nostro, acciò bene sia a noi in tutt'i giorni della nostra vita, com'è oggi.
25 For us, right living wil mean this: to keep and observe al these commandments in obedience toYahweh our God, as he has commanded us." '	25 Ed avrà di noi misericordia, se osserveremo ed eseguiremo tutt'i suoi comandamenti al cospetto del Signore Dio nostro, com'egli ci ha comandato. -
