Deuteronomy 22

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 'If you see your brother's ox or one of his sheep straying, you must not disregard it: you must take itback to your brother.	1 «Коли побачиш одноплемінникового вола чи вівцю, що блукає, ти їх не покинеш, але мусиш привести їх твоєму одноплемінникові.
2 And if he is not close at hand or you do not know who he is, you must take it home with you and keepit by you until your brother comes to look for it; you wil then return it to him.	2 Якже твій одноплемінник не близько або як ти його не знаєш, то прилучиш скотину до свого господарства й вона буде в тебе, поки не прийде твій одноплемінник її шукати, й тоді йому звернеш.
3 'You must do the same with his donkey, the same with his cloak, the same with anything that yourbrother loses and that you find; you must not disregard it.	3 Так само зробиш з його ослом, так само зробиш з його одежею і так само зробиш з усім, що пропаде у твого одноплемінника, й що ти знайдеш. Не можна тобі того залишати.
4 'If you see your brother's donkey or ox fal over on the road, you must not disregard it, but must helpyour brother get it on its feet again.	4 Коли побачиш одноплемінникового осла чи вола, що впаде на дорозі, ти їх не залишиш, а старанно допоможеш йому підняти.
5 'A woman must not dress like a man, nor a man like a woman; anyone who does this is detestable toYahweh your God.	5 Жінка нехай не вдягається, як чоловік, а чоловік нехай не зодягається в жіноче вбрання; бо огидний перед Господом, Богом твоїм, кожен, хто таке робить.
6 'If, when out walking, you come across a bird's nest, in a tree or on the ground, with chicks or eggsand the mother bird sitting on the chicks or the eggs, you must not take the mother as wel as the chicks.	6 Коли трапиться тобі подорозі пташе гніздо на якомусь дереві або на землі з пташенятами або яйцями, і мати сидить на пташенятах чи яйцях, не бери матері з маленькими;
7 Let the mother go; the young you may take for yourself. Thus wil you have prosperity and long life.	7 ти мусиш пустити на волю матір, а пташенят можеш взяти для себе, щоб тобі було добре й ти довго жив на світі.
8 'When you build a new house, you must give your roof a parapet; then your house will not incur blood-vengeance, should anyone fal off the top.	8 Як будуватимеш нову хату, то зробиш на даху поруччя, щоб не навести крови на твою хату, коли хто впаде з неї.
9 'You must not sow any other crop in your vineyard, or the whole yield may become forfeit, both thecrop you have sown and the yield of your vines.	9 Не засіватимеш твого виноградника двома родами насіння, щоб не стало святим усе: і те, що посіяв, і врожай виноградника.
10 'You must not plough with ox and donkey together.	10 Не оратимеш волом і ослом укупі.
11 'You must not wear clothing woven part of wool, part of linen.	11 Не вдягатимешся в одежу, зроблену з вовни й льону разом.
12 'You must make tassels for the four corners of the cloak in which you wrap yourself.	12 Зробиш собі китиці на чотирьох кінцях плаща, який накидаєш на себе.
13 'If a man marries a woman, has sexual intercourse with her and then, turning against her,	13 Коли чоловік візьме дружину й, увійшовши до неї, зненавидить її,
14 taxes her with misconduct and publicly defames her by saying, "I married this woman and when Ihad sexual intercourse with her I did not find evidence of her virginity,"	14 і наговорить на неї негарні речі та й ославить її, кажучи: Взяв я цю жінку й приступив до неї, але не знайшов я в неї ознак дівоцтва,
15 the girl's father and mother must take the evidence of her virginity and produce it before the elders ofthe town, at the gate.	15 тоді батько дівчини й мати її візьмуть та й винесуть ознаки її дівоцтва до старших міста, до воріт.
16 To the elders, the girl's father wil say, "I gave this man my daughter for a wife and he has turnedagainst her,	16 І дівчинин батько скаже до старших: Віддав я дочку за того чоловіка, а він узяв її і зненавидів,
17 and now he taxes her with misconduct, saying, I have found no evidence of virginity in your daughter.Here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity!"	17 та ще й оце наговорив на неї негарні речі, кажучи: Не знайшов я в твоєї дочки ознак дівоцтва. Так ось вам ознаки дівоцтва моєї дочки; і розгорнуть батько-мати плахту перед старшими міста.
18 They must then display the cloth to the elders of the town.	18 Тоді старші того міста візьмуть чоловіка й покарають його,
19 The elders of the town in question wil have the man arrested and flogged, and fine him a hundredsilver shekels for publicly defaming a virgin of Israel, and give this money to the girl's father. She wil remain his wife; as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.	19 і до того накладуть на нього сто срібних шеклів пені та й оддадуть їх батькові дівчини за те, що той ославив ізраїльську дівчину; і — він мусить узяти собі її за жінку, не можна буде йому відіслати її, поки його життя.
20 'But if the accusation that the girl cannot show evidence of virginity is substantiated,	20 А як тому буде правда, й не знайдуть у дівчини ознак дівоцтва,
21 she must be taken out, and at the door of her father's house her fellow-citizens must stone her todeath for having committed an infamy in Israel by bringing disgrace on her father's family. You must banish thisevil from among you.	21 тоді приведуть молодицю до дверей батькового дому, й люди її міста поб’ють її камінням на смерть, бо вона, блудувавши в батьківському домі, сподіяла соромний вчинок в Ізраїлі. Отак викорінюватимеш зло з-поміж себе.
22 'If a man is caught having sexual intercourse with another man's wife, both must be put to death: theman who has slept with her and the woman herself. You must banish this evil from Israel.	22 Якже спіймають чоловіка, що сходиться з заміжньою, — обидвом смерть: чоловікові, що сходиться з жінкою, а й жінці. Отак викорінюватимеш зло з Ізраїля.
23 'If a virgin is engaged to a man, and another man encounters her in the town and has sexualintercourse with her,	23 Коли молода дівчина-дівиця, буде засватана, а зустріне її хтось інший у місті та й зійдеться з нею,
24 you will take them both to the gate of the town in question and stone them to death: the girl, for nothaving cal ed for help in the town; the man, for having exploited his fel ow-citizen's wife. You must banish thisevil from among you.	24 то обидвох виведете до брами того міста й поб’єте їх камінням на смерть; дівчину за те, що в місті не кричала (по допомогу), а чоловіка за те, що знечестив жінку свого ближнього. Так викорінюватимеш зло з-поміж себе.
25 But if the man ran into the betrothed girl in the open country and slept with her, having taken her byforce, her ravisher alone must die;	25 Коли ж у полі чоловік зустріне засватану дівчину й згрішить із нею насильно, то той, хто згрішить з нею, один умре.
26 you must do nothing to the girl, she has not committed a capital offence. The case is like that of aman who attacks and kil s his fel ow:	26 А з дівчиною не чинитимеш нічого: немає на дівчині вини смерти; це бо таке саме, якби хтось напав на свого ближнього і вбив його;
27 since he came across her in the open country, the betrothed girl may have cal ed out, withoutanyone's coming to her rescue.	27 бож він зустрів її в полі, заручена дівиця кричала, та нікому було її рятувати.
28 'If a man meets a young virgin who is not betrothed and seizes her, sleeps with her and is caught inthe act,	28 Як чоловік зустріне молоду дівчину-дівицю, незаручену й силоміць згрішить з нею, а по тому все виявиться,
29 her ravisher must give the girl's father fifty silver shekels; since he has exploited her, she must be hiswife and, as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.'	29 то чоловік, який згрішив з нею, віддасть батькові дівчини п’ятдесят срібних шеклів срібла й візьме її собі за жінку; тому, хто знечестив її, не можна відсилати її, поки життя його.»
