Deuteronomy 22

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 'If you see your brother's ox or one of his sheep straying, you must not disregard it: you must take itback to your brother.	1 Se vedi un capo di bestiame minuto o di bestiame grosso di un tuo fratello che si erano smarriti, non tirarti indietro: riportali al tuo fratello.
2 And if he is not close at hand or you do not know who he is, you must take it home with you and keepit by you until your brother comes to look for it; you wil then return it to him.	2 Se tuo fratello non è tuo vicino e tu non lo conosci, raccogli l'animale in casa tua; starà con te finché tuo fratello non lo cerchi; allora glielo renderai.
3 'You must do the same with his donkey, the same with his cloak, the same with anything that yourbrother loses and that you find; you must not disregard it.	3 Così farai per il suo asino, così farai per il suo mantello, così farai per ogni oggetto smarrito da tuo fratello e che tu hai ritrovato; non puoi disinteressartene.
4 'If you see your brother's donkey or ox fal over on the road, you must not disregard it, but must helpyour brother get it on its feet again.	4 Se vedi che l'asino o il bue di tuo fratello sono caduti sulla strada, non disinteressartene; assieme con lui cercherai di rialzarli.
5 'A woman must not dress like a man, nor a man like a woman; anyone who does this is detestable toYahweh your God.	5 Una donna non porterà indumento da uomo, né un uomo indosserà una veste da donna, perché chiunque fa queste cose è in abominio al Signore tuo Dio.
6 'If, when out walking, you come across a bird's nest, in a tree or on the ground, with chicks or eggsand the mother bird sitting on the chicks or the eggs, you must not take the mother as wel as the chicks.	6 Se trovi un nido d'uccello davanti a te, per via, su un albero o per terra, con gli uccellini o con le uova, mentre la madre giace sugli uccellini o sulle uova, non prenderai la madre coi figli.
7 Let the mother go; the young you may take for yourself. Thus wil you have prosperity and long life.	7 Lascia andar via la madre e prenditi i figli, affinché tu sia felice e prolunghi i tuoi giorni.
8 'When you build a new house, you must give your roof a parapet; then your house will not incur blood-vengeance, should anyone fal off the top.	8 Quando edificherai una casa nuova, farai un parapetto alla terrazza, così non porrai sangue sulla tua casa, se qualcuno cadrà giù.
9 'You must not sow any other crop in your vineyard, or the whole yield may become forfeit, both thecrop you have sown and the yield of your vines.	9 Non seminerai nella tua vigna semi di due specie, affinché non diventi sacra tutta la produzione, la semente che tu hai seminato e il prodotto della vigna.
10 'You must not plough with ox and donkey together.	10 Non arerai con un bue e un asino insieme.
11 'You must not wear clothing woven part of wool, part of linen.	11 Non indosserai un tessuto composito, di lana e di lino insieme.
12 'You must make tassels for the four corners of the cloak in which you wrap yourself.	12 Ti farai delle frange ai quattro angoli del mantello con cui ti copri.
13 'If a man marries a woman, has sexual intercourse with her and then, turning against her,	13 Se un uomo sposa una donna, va da lei e poi la prende in odio,
14 taxes her with misconduct and publicly defames her by saying, "I married this woman and when Ihad sexual intercourse with her I did not find evidence of her virginity,"	14 l'accusa di colpe e le fa una cattiva fama dicendo: "Ho sposato questa donna, mi sono avvicinato a lei, ma non le ho trovato i segni della verginità",
15 the girl's father and mother must take the evidence of her virginity and produce it before the elders ofthe town, at the gate.	15 il padre e la madre della giovane prenderanno i segni della verginità della giovane, li porteranno agli anziani alla porta della città,
16 To the elders, the girl's father wil say, "I gave this man my daughter for a wife and he has turnedagainst her,	16 e il padre della giovane dirà agli anziani: "Ho dato mia figlia in sposa a quest'uomo, ma egli l'ha odiata,
17 and now he taxes her with misconduct, saying, I have found no evidence of virginity in your daughter.Here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity!"	17 ed ecco l'accusa di colpe dicendo: 'Non ho trovato in tua figlia i segni della verginità'. Questi sono i segni della verginità di mia figlia", e stenderanno l'indumento davanti agli anziani della città.
18 They must then display the cloth to the elders of the town.	18 Gli anziani di quella città prenderanno l'uomo, lo castigheranno,
19 The elders of the town in question wil have the man arrested and flogged, and fine him a hundredsilver shekels for publicly defaming a virgin of Israel, and give this money to the girl's father. She wil remain his wife; as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.	19 lo multeranno di cento sicli d'argento e li daranno al padre della giovane, perché quegli ha fatto una fama cattiva a una vergine d'Israele. Rimarrà sua moglie e non potrà ripudiarla mai più.
20 'But if the accusation that the girl cannot show evidence of virginity is substantiated,	20 Ma se quel fatto è vero e i segni di verginità della giovane non si trovano,
21 she must be taken out, and at the door of her father's house her fellow-citizens must stone her todeath for having committed an infamy in Israel by bringing disgrace on her father's family. You must banish thisevil from among you.	21 condurranno la giovane alla porta della casa di suo padre, e gli uomini della sua città la lapideranno e morirà, perché ha commesso un'infamia in Israele, profanando la casa di suo padre. Estirperai il male in mezzo a te.
22 'If a man is caught having sexual intercourse with another man's wife, both must be put to death: theman who has slept with her and the woman herself. You must banish this evil from Israel.	22 Se un uomo viene trovato mentre giace con una donna sposata, moriranno tutti e due, l'uomo che giace con la donna e la donna. Estirperai il male da Israele.
23 'If a virgin is engaged to a man, and another man encounters her in the town and has sexualintercourse with her,	23 Se una giovane vergine è fidanzata a un uomo, e un altro uomo la trova in città e giace con lei,
24 you will take them both to the gate of the town in question and stone them to death: the girl, for nothaving cal ed for help in the town; the man, for having exploited his fel ow-citizen's wife. You must banish thisevil from among you.	24 li condurrete fuori tutti e due alla porta di quella città e li lapiderete; moriranno, la giovane perché non ha gridato nella città, l'uomo perché ha umiliato la donna del suo prossimo. Estirperai il male in mezzo a te.
25 But if the man ran into the betrothed girl in the open country and slept with her, having taken her byforce, her ravisher alone must die;	25 Ma se l'uomo trova la giovane fidanzata in campagna, le fa violenza e giace con lei, morirà l'uomo che è giaciuto con lei,
26 you must do nothing to the girl, she has not committed a capital offence. The case is like that of aman who attacks and kil s his fel ow:	26 mentre non farai nulla alla giovane; per la giovane non c'è peccato meritevole di morte; è come quando un uomo sorge contro il suo prossimo e lo uccide, così in questo caso:
27 since he came across her in the open country, the betrothed girl may have cal ed out, withoutanyone's coming to her rescue.	27 la giovane fidanzata, essendo stata trovata in campagna magari ha gridato, ma nessuno l'ha sentita.
28 'If a man meets a young virgin who is not betrothed and seizes her, sleeps with her and is caught inthe act,	28 Se un uomo trova una giovane vergine non fidanzata, la prende, giace con lei e sono trovati in flagrante,
29 her ravisher must give the girl's father fifty silver shekels; since he has exploited her, she must be hiswife and, as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.'	29 l'uomo che è giaciuto con lei darà al padre della giovane cinquanta sicli d'argento ed essa sarà sua moglie; poiché l'ha umiliata, non gli sarà mai lecito ripudiarla.
