Deuteronomy 22

1 'If you see your brother's ox or one of his sheep straying, you must not disregard it: you must take itback to your brother.	1 Se vedrai il bue, o la pecora del tuo fratello smarriti, non tirerai avanti la tua strada, ma li ricondurrai al tuo fratello.
2 And if he is not close at hand or you do not know who he is, you must take it home with you and keepit by you until your brother comes to look for it; you wil then return it to him.	2 Benché questo fratello non sia tuo parente, e tu nol conosca, li menerai a casa tua, e li terrai presso di te, fino a tanto che il tuo fratello li ricerchi, e li riprenda.
3 'You must do the same with his donkey, the same with his cloak, the same with anything that yourbrother loses and that you find; you must not disregard it.	3 Lo stesso farai di un asino, e d'una veste, e di qualunque cosa perduta dal tuo fratello: se la troverai, non la trascurare, perché sia cosa d'altri.
4 'If you see your brother's donkey or ox fal over on the road, you must not disregard it, but must helpyour brother get it on its feet again.	4 Se vedrai l'asino, o il bue del tuo fratello caduti per istrada, non metterai ciò in non cale, ma gli darai mano a rizzarli.
5 'A woman must not dress like a man, nor a man like a woman; anyone who does this is detestable toYahweh your God.	5 La donna non si vestirà da uomo, né l’uomo da donna: conciossiaché è in abbominazione a Dio chi fa tali cose.
6 'If, when out walking, you come across a bird's nest, in a tree or on the ground, with chicks or eggsand the mother bird sitting on the chicks or the eggs, you must not take the mother as wel as the chicks.	6 Se facendo viaggio trovi in terra, o sopra un albero un nido di uccello, e la madre, che cova i pulcini, o le ova, non la prenderai insieme co’ figli:
7 Let the mother go; the young you may take for yourself. Thus wil you have prosperity and long life.	7 Ma la lascerai andare, tenendoti i figli presi, affinché tu sii prosperato, e viva per lungo tempo.
8 'When you build a new house, you must give your roof a parapet; then your house will not incur blood-vengeance, should anyone fal off the top.	8 Quando edificherai una nuova casa, farai un muricciuolo intorno al tetto: affinché non segua spargimento di sangue in tua casa, e tu non sii reo della caduta, e del precipizio di un altro.
9 'You must not sow any other crop in your vineyard, or the whole yield may become forfeit, both thecrop you have sown and the yield of your vines.	9 Non seminerai nella tua vigna due sorte di semenza, affinché e il seme gettato da te, e quello che nasce dalla vigna, non sia immondo tutto egualmente.
10 'You must not plough with ox and donkey together.	10 Non arerai con un bue, e un asino.
11 'You must not wear clothing woven part of wool, part of linen.	11 Non ti vestirai di veste tessuta di lino, e di lana.
12 'You must make tassels for the four corners of the cloak in which you wrap yourself.	12 Tu metterai a' quattro angoli del pallio, col quale ti cuopri, delle frange fatte di cordicelle.
13 'If a man marries a woman, has sexual intercourse with her and then, turning against her,	13 Se un uomo avendo sposata una donna poscia la prende in odio,
14 taxes her with misconduct and publicly defames her by saying, "I married this woman and when Ihad sexual intercourse with her I did not find evidence of her virginity,"	14 E cerca pretesti per ripudiarla, e le rinfaccia un pessimo delitto dicendo: Ho preso per moglie costei, e accostatomi ad essa non la ho trovata vergine:
15 the girl's father and mother must take the evidence of her virginity and produce it before the elders ofthe town, at the gate.	15 La prenderanno seco il padre e la madre di lei, e porteranno seco le prove della sua verginità davanti a' seniori della città, che stanno alla porta:
16 To the elders, the girl's father wil say, "I gave this man my daughter for a wife and he has turnedagainst her,	16 E il padre dirà: Ho data per moglie a costui la mia figlia: e perché egli la odia,
17 and now he taxes her with misconduct, saying, I have found no evidence of virginity in your daughter.Here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity!"	17 Le imputa un delitto pessimo, arrivando a dire: Non ho trovata vergine la tua figliuola; or ecco le prove della verginità di mia figlia: spiegheranno il lenzuolo dinanzi a' seniori della città:
18 They must then display the cloth to the elders of the town.	18 E i seniori della città faranno prendere il marito, e lo faranno frustare,
19 The elders of the town in question wil have the man arrested and flogged, and fine him a hundredsilver shekels for publicly defaming a virgin of Israel, and give this money to the girl's father. She wil remain his wife; as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.	19 Condannandolo di più in cento sicli d’argento, i quali egli darà al padre della fanciulla, per avere infamato una vergine d'Israele: e l’avrà per sua moglie, e non potrà ripudiarla per tutto il tempo di sua vita.
20 'But if the accusation that the girl cannot show evidence of virginity is substantiated,	20 Ma se quello ch'ei le rinfaccia, è verità, e la fanciulla non fu trovata vergine,
21 she must be taken out, and at the door of her father's house her fellow-citizens must stone her todeath for having committed an infamy in Israel by bringing disgrace on her father's family. You must banish thisevil from among you.	21 La scacceranno fuori della porta della casa del padre suo, e gli abitanti di quella città la lapideranno, ed ella morrà: perché ha fatto cosa indegna in Israele, arrivando a peccare in casa del padre suo; e torrai di mezzo a te l’iniquità.
22 'If a man is caught having sexual intercourse with another man's wife, both must be put to death: theman who has slept with her and the woman herself. You must banish this evil from Israel.	22 Se un uomo pecca colla moglie d'un altro, ambedue saran messi a morte, l’adultero, e l’adultera: e così torrai l'iniquità di mezzo a Israele.
23 'If a virgin is engaged to a man, and another man encounters her in the town and has sexualintercourse with her,	23 Se un uomo ha contratti sponsali con una fanciulla vergine, e uno trovatala per la città pecca con essa,
24 you will take them both to the gate of the town in question and stone them to death: the girl, for nothaving cal ed for help in the town; the man, for having exploited his fel ow-citizen's wife. You must banish thisevil from among you.	24 Condurrai l'uno, e l’altra fuori della porta della città, e saran lapidati: la fanciulla, perché non ha gridato trovandosi in città: l’uomo, perché ha disonorato la donna del suo prossimo: e tu leverai di mezzo a te l'iniquità,
25 But if the man ran into the betrothed girl in the open country and slept with her, having taken her byforce, her ravisher alone must die;	25 Ma se la fanciulla che ha fatto gli sponsali, fu trovata dall'uomo in campagna, e questi presala pecca con lei, egli solo sarà messo a morte:
26 you must do nothing to the girl, she has not committed a capital offence. The case is like that of aman who attacks and kil s his fel ow:	26 La fanciulla non ne patirà altra pena, né è rea di morte: perché come un assassino va alla vita del suo fratello, e l’uccide, così è avvenuto a lei:
27 since he came across her in the open country, the betrothed girl may have cal ed out, withoutanyone's coming to her rescue.	27 Ella era sola in campagna: gridò, e non vi era chi la liberasse.
28 'If a man meets a young virgin who is not betrothed and seizes her, sleeps with her and is caught inthe act,	28 Se uno trova una fanciulla vergine, che non ha ancora sposo, e presala la disonora, portato l'affare in giudizio,
29 her ravisher must give the girl's father fifty silver shekels; since he has exploited her, she must be hiswife and, as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.'	29 Colui che l'ha disonorata, darà al padre della fanciulla cinquanta sicli d'argento, e l’avrà per sua moglie, perché l’ha violata: non potrà ripudiarla per tutto il tempo di sua vita.
