Deuteronomy 22

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 'If you see your brother's ox or one of his sheep straying, you must not disregard it: you must take itback to your brother.	1 Se vedrai smarriti il bue o la pecora del tuo fratello, non passerai oltre; ma li ricondurrai al tuo fratello,
2 And if he is not close at hand or you do not know who he is, you must take it home with you and keepit by you until your brother comes to look for it; you wil then return it to him.	2 anche se esso non è tuo vicino; e se non lo conosci li menerai a casa tua e li terrai presso di te sino a tanto che il tuo fratello non ne faccia ricerca e non li riprenda.
3 'You must do the same with his donkey, the same with his cloak, the same with anything that yourbrother loses and that you find; you must not disregard it.	3 Lo stesso farai per l'asino, per la veste e per qualunque altra cosa perduta dal tuo fratello: se la troverai non far vista di non averla vista, perchè non è tua.
4 'If you see your brother's donkey or ox fal over on the road, you must not disregard it, but must helpyour brother get it on its feet again.	4 Cosi se vedrai l'asino o il bue di tuo fratello caduto nella strada, non far vista di non aver visto, ma aiutalo a rialzarlo.
5 'A woman must not dress like a man, nor a man like a woman; anyone who does this is detestable toYahweh your God.	5 La donna non si vestirà da uomo, nè l'uomo da donna; perchè chi fa tali cose è abbominevole davanti a Dio.
6 'If, when out walking, you come across a bird's nest, in a tree or on the ground, with chicks or eggsand the mother bird sitting on the chicks or the eggs, you must not take the mother as wel as the chicks.	6 Se, cammin facendo, trovi, sopra un albero o per terra, un nido d'uccello con la madre a covare i piccini o le uova, non la prenderai con essi,
7 Let the mother go; the young you may take for yourself. Thus wil you have prosperity and long life.	7 ma lasciandola andare ne prenderai soltanto i piccini, se vuoi aver bene e vivere lungamente.
8 'When you build a new house, you must give your roof a parapet; then your house will not incur blood-vengeance, should anyone fal off the top.	8 Quando edificherai una nuova casa, farai un muricciolo torno torno al tetto, per non macchiar di sangue la tua casa, per non esser reo, se uno cadendo precipita di sotto.
9 'You must not sow any other crop in your vineyard, or the whole yield may become forfeit, both thecrop you have sown and the yield of your vines.	9 Non seminerai altra roba nella tua vigna, chè altrimenti e il seme da te gettato e ciò che nasce dalla vigna verrebbero ugualmente santificati.
10 'You must not plough with ox and donkey together.	10 Non arerai con un bue ed un asino insieme.
11 'You must not wear clothing woven part of wool, part of linen.	11 Non indosserai veste tessuta di lana e di lino.
12 'You must make tassels for the four corners of the cloak in which you wrap yourself.	12 Farai dei cordoncini alle frange nei quattro angoli del mantello con cui ti copri.
13 'If a man marries a woman, has sexual intercourse with her and then, turning against her,	13 Se un uomo, dopo avere sposato una donna, la prende in uggia,
14 taxes her with misconduct and publicly defames her by saying, "I married this woman and when Ihad sexual intercourse with her I did not find evidence of her virginity,"	14 e, mendicando pretesti per ripudiarla, la diffama, dicendo: Ho preso questa donna, ma quando mi sono accostato a lei non l'ho trovata vergine,
15 the girl's father and mother must take the evidence of her virginity and produce it before the elders ofthe town, at the gate.	15 il padre e la madre della donna la prenderanno e porteranno seco le prove della sua verginità davanti agli anziani della città, che stanno alla porta;
16 To the elders, the girl's father wil say, "I gave this man my daughter for a wife and he has turnedagainst her,	16 e il padre dirà: Ho data la mia figlia per moglie a quest'uomo, ed ora, siccome l'ha in uggia,
17 and now he taxes her with misconduct, saying, I have found no evidence of virginity in your daughter.Here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity!"	17 le muove turpi accuse, e arriva a dire: Non ho trovata vergine la tua figlia. Or ecco le prove della verginità di mia figlia. E spiegheranno il panno davanti agli anziani della città.
18 They must then display the cloth to the elders of the town.	18 Allora gli anziani della città, preso quell'uomo, lo faran frustare,
19 The elders of the town in question wil have the man arrested and flogged, and fine him a hundredsilver shekels for publicly defaming a virgin of Israel, and give this money to the girl's father. She wil remain his wife; as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.	19 condannandolo inoltre a dare cento sicli d'argento al padre della fanciulla, perchè ha diffamata con gravissima accusa una vergine d'Israele. E la dovrà tener per moglie, e non potrà ripudiarla per tutto il tempo della sua vita.
20 'But if the accusation that the girl cannot show evidence of virginity is substantiated,	20 Ma se l'accusa è vera, e la fanciulla non fu trovata vergine,
21 she must be taken out, and at the door of her father's house her fellow-citizens must stone her todeath for having committed an infamy in Israel by bringing disgrace on her father's family. You must banish thisevil from among you.	21 allora la faranno uscire fuori della porta della casa di suo padre, e gli uomini di quella città la lapideranno, la faran morire, perchè ha commesso un'infamità in Israele, fornicando in casa di suo padre. Così estirperai di mezzo a te il male.
22 'If a man is caught having sexual intercourse with another man's wife, both must be put to death: theman who has slept with her and the woman herself. You must banish this evil from Israel.	22 Se un uomo dorme colla moglie d'un altro, ambedue, tanto l'adultero che l'adultera, morranno. Così toglierai il male da Israele.
23 'If a virgin is engaged to a man, and another man encounters her in the town and has sexualintercourse with her,	23 Se un uomo, trovata in città una fanciulla vergine fidanzata ad un altro, dormirà con essa,
24 you will take them both to the gate of the town in question and stone them to death: the girl, for nothaving cal ed for help in the town; the man, for having exploited his fel ow-citizen's wife. You must banish thisevil from among you.	24 condurrai l'uno e l'altra alla porta della città e li farai lapidare: la fanciulla, perchè, essendo in città, non ha gridato; l'uomo, perchè ha umiliata la donna del suo prossimo. Così estirperai di mezzo a te il male.
25 But if the man ran into the betrothed girl in the open country and slept with her, having taken her byforce, her ravisher alone must die;	25 Ma se un uomo, trovando in campagna una fanciulla fidanzata, le fa violenza e dorme con lei, egli solo sarà messo a morte.
26 you must do nothing to the girl, she has not committed a capital offence. The case is like that of aman who attacks and kil s his fel ow:	26 La fanciulla non soffrirà nulla e non è degna di morte, perchè come nel caso d'un ladro che si leva contro del suo fratello e l'uccide, così ha sofferto la fanciulla:
27 since he came across her in the open country, the betrothed girl may have cal ed out, withoutanyone's coming to her rescue.	27 infatti era sola in campagna: gridò, ma non vi fu chi la liberasse.
28 'If a man meets a young virgin who is not betrothed and seizes her, sleeps with her and is caught inthe act,	28 Se uno, trovando una fanciulla vergine e non fidanzata a nessuno, la prende per forza e dorme con lei, e la cosa vien portata in giudizio,
29 her ravisher must give the girl's father fifty silver shekels; since he has exploited her, she must be hiswife and, as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.'	29 chi ha dormito con essa darà al padre della fanciulla cinquanta sicli d'argento, e la dovrà sposare, perchè l'ha umiliata, e non potrà ripudiarla per tutto il tempo della sua vita.
	30 Nessuno sposerà la moglie del proprio padre, nè alzerà la coperta del letto paterno.
